City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

2 judys !!!

Is that your final answer?

5 Judys! Pics 7, 8, 9 and 10 (there are 2 Judys in pic 10). I have to beat Marv or else I think the universe might explode or something.

Let me come back to this one, after I save the universe.

Make it 3 Judy's !!!

Ha! I knew that previous answer wasn't your final answer. If you look hard enough, you can find several Judy's in this chapter. :magnify:

I am objecting to the 5 Judys !!Therr are 3 more in the video and I appeal to the Rules Committee:rotfl2:

You haven't learned by now that appealing to the Rules Committee doesn't get you very far? :rotfl:

drat 2 judys 3 if you count the reflection of the one where she is actually in it.

You know we do. But there's another where she's "actually in it". And another reflection.

Good strategy, however it's 1 too many. But the universe is safe, and that's what's important.

:laughing:Poor Rosie. She'll just keep guessing till she hits the magic number, which is FIVE by the way, not SIX. Pass that on to the Rules Committee, will you?:thumbsup2

Her good timing has her on the board though, with an earlier sighting.

The Rules Committee determined before the post went up, what the correct count should be...and they deemed it to be 5: Pictures 7, 8, 9 and 10, with 2 in picture 10 with the reflection right behind her. Their answer key looks eerily similar to submission, so you win this round! :cheer2:

Updated scores:

Jenn (elphie101) - 1 Judy-sighting win, First Subscriber Honors!
Tanya - 1 Judy-sighting win
Pat - 1 Judy-sighting win
Rosie - 1 Judy-sighting win
Marvin - 3 Judy-sighting wins
Kelly - 1 Judy-sighting win
Mark - 1 Judy-sighting win
Molly - 1 Judy-sighting win

Is that your final answer?

So you're saying that's NOT Judy in the final picture? Or the Rules Committee screwed up and messed up the count???

Your friend Andrew looks so much like my friend Brad from up in Philly. It's a little creepy!

Hmm, is Brad a bug guy?

Okay, so the Judy guesses are all gone, so I'll just comment on the update. :rotfl:

:yay: best news I've had all day!

I love the picture of that turtle! He looks like he's having such a good time in that glass case.

He does! He's having a grand old time. Ordinarily, I wouldn't think you'd have that much fun after you're dead and decomposed and everything, but he makes it look like a lot of fun.

We saw that movie at one of museums here. It's a great movie, but I when Morgan Freeman started narrating, I kept expecting to hear quotes from Shawshank Redemption. It took me about halfway through the movie before I quit.

"Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of s**t smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to."

Oh heck with it, I'm going with 4 Judy's!

Oh, you had to. It was a good guess though, wasn't taken already...but Molly nailed it this time.

Thanks for the tour of the museum! My 11 year old son is a dinosaur and science nut and he would LOVE this place. We haven't taken the boys to NYC yet, but when we do, this will be one of our most important stops.

That's great, I'm glad you're getting some ideas for a potential future trip. :thumbsup2

Has Lauren not seen Night at the Museum? Lots of the the things she saw were featured in the movie.

She's at least seen parts of it....was it filmed at this particular museum? If so, I didn't realize that.

That is so cool that she and Judy know one of the exhibators (curators?) there. What an extremely awesome job!

Yes, he had just recently moved there. Oh yeah, I've got connections.

I love that the boy grew up, moved to NYC and still gets to play with bugs. How many of us can say we still work with a childhood passion? Love it. Nice sneaky pic of him too Lauren.

Yeah, not me...there used to be a commercial where a kid says "when I grow up, I want to be in middle-management." :rotfl2:

Maybe your hubby though, with his planes?

I love the turtle picture with Judy! Yes, it definitely looks like it's smiling and with the way Judy is smiling for the camera, a very happy picture.

I think he's smiling because he just saw these people on TV earlier that same day. :happytv:

I would love to see that movie, I feel like I've seen parts of it but never the whole thing. He has the best voice. Very fun trip to the museum ladies!

Thanks for your comments Cynthia. :)

Another great update! Very interesting, out of the pics I'd have to say the glyptodont (I think that's what they're called, the one that looks like a tank) was my fave!

I don't now...after I learned their names as a kid, they've gone back through and renamed all of them several times since He should wear a nametag "Hello, my name is: Glyptodont"

As for my fave animal... What a hard question! Either a hedgehog, platypus or red panda... Especially in baby form! I agree with Judy, picking a fave is hard!

Oh yes, a hedgehog...a very UK critter, yes?

I lol'd at the statue pic too... I guess the elephants were calling when she wrote that :D

She definitely didn't look too closely! :rotfl2:

just to make mine official and you know where i saw them.:thumbsup2

You did great, but Molly beat you to the punch. :hourglass

:rotfl2: It most certainly does!

:)

So Lauren, what do you think about elephants? :confused3

Where have you been Captain? She LOVES 'em!

Have you ever seen the youtube video of an elephant painting a picture of a flower? It's unbelievable.

The platypus! He's a semi-aquatic, egg-laying mammal of action!

Oh there you are Perry.

He could read the phone book, and you'd probably pay to listen to it.

"Aamco Transmission <dramatic pause> Three oh two, five five five..."

Excellent job posting this on a public forum. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

What's the statue of limitations on breaking into a museum?

Nice job Dan. You did as good as Molly......... :rolleyes2

I have to give him the edge on documentation, but she beat him on time.

Now add in the real Judy leaning over the pans beyond the microscope on the left in the final picture, and you will get to the SIX that I submitted as my answer........ :thumbsup2

Good eye, that one was definitely worth a second look. I don't think it's her though.

Hardy-har-har Marvie.:sad2:

That's puttin' him in his place! You have obviously dealt with some hecklers in your day.

Look again my friend, that's not Judy since the shorts in the picture you quoted are much too long for the one's she was actually wearing.

Exactly! Much too long, Marvie. :snooty:

And you can't go back and fix it because you KNOW the Rules Committee looks at time stamps.:thumbsup2

:magnify:

So you're saying that's NOT Judy in the final picture? Or the Rules Committee screwed up and messed up the count???

Yes, we're saying that's not her. If it'll make you feel better, I'll ask her tonight if she thinks that's her. :goodvibes

I have no idea how many Judys there are because I can't see the pictures right now. No Judies, No Andrew, No Lauren, No bugs, No Nothing! Boo!

But I'll be back. Despite not seeing the pictures, it still sounds like you had a wonderful time. Entomologist. Interesting line of work.

Good Luck in College Lauren! :thumbsup2

a year older but not a year wiser my friend.

Hardy-har-har Marvie.:sad2:

im with you....i was just hoping that by me showing my reflection pics, i was hoping you mistook a picture number, so i was working toward the technicality side of things. :rotfl:
not only did the clothes not fully match up to judy, but that is the back side of the table and i took that "judy" behind the table as a worker showing someone something.

I should get apoint for being first !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

By the way I did read the update and it was very Bony :rotfl2:But very good Nice job Lauren !!!:thumbsup2

Now That I have read the update. :rotfl2:

I used to love going to the Museum of Natural History. Always good for school field trips.

So cool that Lauren knew someone that worked there.

She did good with the Judy Pictures. Were those random happenings with the Judys or was she coached?

I really need to work on my speed and accuracy. :sad2:

I like that she admitted that she "snuck " back in. :rotfl:

Favorite animal- I agree with Judy - so hard to pick.:confused3

Cool trip to the museum. So much to see. When Michelle went she kept looking for the characters from the movie "Night at the Museum". Sounds like it's pretty big. My oldest loved dinosaurs and it does seem like they've changed the names since we were kids.

Loved the turtle picture, and yes it does look like he's smiling for the camera. It's very neat that Lauren and Judy found Andrew. Always nice to go to the big city and find someone from home.

Shopping next! Sounds like fun.

I'm glad it's working out and things are in motion. I wish you well for the travel portion and getting acclimated to your new community. :goodvibes

Thank you, Glen

Yeah, kind of a dumb comment I know. Any money that's there, I put there myself, anyway!

Just tell her to remember you when she's rich and famous :upsidedow

She loved it! I just heard from my mother-in-law this weekend that she was so excited seeing her on the TV screen that she found herself waving back :wave2: to Lauren and thinking "wait a minute...what on earth am I doing? She can't see me!"
:rotfl2:

That's funny!:rotfl:

Wow, Lauren is already off at college. I hope she has a wonderful year and doesn't get too homesick. I think Skype helps these days. Things will be a little quiet and then you'll adjust. Did anyone claim her room yet? :rotfl2:

I loved the museum tour, BTW. Good catch on Teddy R! :lmao:

So you're saying that's NOT Judy in the final picture? Or the Rules Committee screwed up and messed up the count???

Okay, so I went to Judy for the official confirmation on this one (it's a good thing somebody told her about the game :rolleyes1) and she said that it is not her. She was standing to the left of Lauren when she took that picture. She believes that is someone working behind the tables along with Andrew. ie. what Dan thought. So, sorry, can't bump the count up to 6...it's still 5. But I agree with you -- that one was definitely worth a second or third look.

I have no idea how many Judys there are because I can't see the pictures right now. No Judies, No Andrew, No Lauren, No bugs, No Nothing! Boo!

You need to get an iPhone....you can even check on the DIS during meetings, as long as you're :smooth: and sneaky :tiptoe:

But I'll be back. Despite not seeing the pictures, it still sounds like you had a wonderful time. Entomologist. Interesting line of work.

I wasn't sure that she would go for this stop being in the touring plan, and instead opt for more shopping, but she wanted to include it.

Good Luck in College Lauren!

Thanks Mary Ellen!

im with you....i was just hoping that by me showing my reflection pics, i was hoping you mistook a picture number, so i was working toward the technicality side of things. :rotfl:

Outstanding level of documentation! No doubt. :thumbsup2

not only did the clothes not fully match up to judy, but that is the back side of the table and i took that "judy" behind the table as a worker showing someone something.

'Zactly. ::yes:: And Judy confirmed it.

I should get apoint for being first !!!:rotfl2:

You know, on Jeopardy they take points away if you're first, but with the wrong answer. :scratchin

By the way I did read the update and it was very Bony :rotfl2:But very good Nice job Lauren !!!:thumbsup2

Nice summary.

Now That I have read the update. :rotfl2:

I used to love going to the Museum of Natural History. Always good for school field trips.

Yep, get out of the classroom for a while.

Did you see that one display where it was a big frame of where the body would be, and the only actual skeleton item they had was the skull? You'd think they would have just put that in a display case or something...I mean, that skeleton wasn't real filled-out! :confused3 :rotfl:

She did good with the Judy Pictures. Were those random happenings with the Judys or was she coached?

No actually. I just told them to take lots of pictures. When I was pasting the links and looking at them I was like "Oooo reflections...these're going to be good!"

I really need to work on my speed and accuracy. :sad2:

Like Toy Story Midway Mania.

I like that she admitted that she "snuck " back in. :rotfl:

Imagine if I'd have had to go up to NYC to bail them out. I wonder if they'd be in a little cell in a police office like on "Barney Miller"?

Favorite animal- I agree with Judy - so hard to pick.:confused3

Yeah, I don't have one either.

Cool trip to the museum. So much to see. When Michelle went she kept looking for the characters from the movie "Night at the Museum". Sounds like it's pretty big. My oldest loved dinosaurs and it does seem like they've changed the names since we were kids.

Dee (natebenma) mentioned that too. I didn't realize that's where the movie took place. Even cooler!

Loved the turtle picture, and yes it does look like he's smiling for the camera. It's very neat that Lauren and Judy found Andrew. Always nice to go to the big city and find someone from home.

I like the turtle picture too. It looks like he's having a great time!

Shopping next! Sounds like fun.

I can't wait for that chapter. :crazy2:

Wow, Lauren is already off at college. I hope she has a wonderful year and doesn't get too homesick. I think Skype helps these days. Things will be a little quiet and then you'll adjust. Did anyone claim her room yet? :rotfl2:

So far, so good. She's asked that we send some things that we had recommended she take and she decided to not take our advice. :headache: Yes, it does already feel quieter, especially when the other kids are at activities -- my gosh, we're on our way to being "empty nesters"! How did that happen?

No one's claimed her room...it's the unofficial guest room; she always had to temporarily move in with Marlene when someone visited, so we'll keep it that way unless someone gets some wild ideas.

I loved the museum tour, BTW. Good catch on Teddy R! :lmao:

I thought I might as well mention it before you guys point it out. I think it was Pat who had a post one time where she said she couldn't remember the bus driver's name but had a picture of him with "Dave" (or something) clearly displayed on his name badge.

Computer bugs! He's the IT guy at his company.

Oh, it has to be the same guy then....Andrew is clearly leading a double-life. ;)

We have been having computer network issues here at work since last week. I had a multi quote response written up for the last update when we lost our network once again a couple of hours ago. With that, let me just say yes, Dinosaurs are cool, elephants are cool, and illegal re-entries to museums for an extra picture are just really frickin rebelliously awesome.:thumbsup2

Ok, in my mad haste to get in my Judy sightings, I forgot to even comment on Lauren's entry! Sorry Lauren!

Yes, that is most certainly Teddy Roosevelt.:rotfl: You should really watch the Night at the Museum and Battle at the Smithsonian. Really cute movies with just enough slapstick sarcasm to keep the parents entertained.

Very, very cool about Andrew! Even though I don't do bugs, it looked pretty cool. Even if Lauren had to ahem, illegally creep back in like a criminal to snap a picture...:faint::rotfl:

All the dinosaur pics are too cool. You should really try the one here in DC. I too love all those fossils and maybe even wanted to be an archaeologist when I was younger. Though that might have something to do with Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark too.;)

Love the smiling turtle! He truly does look as if he's smiling.:thumbsup2

Sounds like another fantastic day in NYC! Good job!:goodvibes

Let me come back to this one, after I save the universe.

Yay! The universe is saved, whew!:goodvibes

Good strategy, however it's 1 too many. But the universe is safe, and that's what's important.

:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Her good timing has her on the board though, with an earlier sighting.

I'm finally on the board!:goodvibes

That's puttin' him in his place! You have obviously dealt with some hecklers in your day.

You got that right Glenn! I come from a long line of hecklers. Pretty much every male in my family is one. I'm experienced which is probably why Marvie is so scared of me.:scared:::yes::

Exactly! Much too long, Marvie. :snooty:

:lmao:

Yes, we're saying that's not her. If it'll make you feel better, I'll ask her tonight if she thinks that's her. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Good one! "Judy, look at this picture of yourself, is that you because Marvie says it is!":lmao:

You know Glenn, I think you should buy Judy a little present for every contest you have in your TR's. For all the scrutinizing we do looking for her, I could probably pick her out of a crowd over my own kids!:crowded:

a year older but not a year wiser my friend.

You got that right Dan! Though I'm sure Marv will come back with some semi-witty comment claiming he aging like a fine wine or something equally ridiculous.:rolleyes2

im with you....i was just hoping that by me showing my reflection pics, i was hoping you mistook a picture number, so i was working toward the technicality side of things. :rotfl:
not only did the clothes not fully match up to judy, but that is the back side of the table and i took that "judy" behind the table as a worker showing someone something.

::yes:: Yes, as Glenn said your documentation was right on! So you should get a technicality pointe. Rules Committee??

I took that last picture to be a person working behind the table too Dan.:thumbsup2

You got that right Dan! Though I'm sure Marv will come back with some semi-witty comment claiming he aging like a fine wine or something equally ridiculous.:rolleyes2
well he is aging, :rotfl:

::yes:: Yes, as Glenn said your documentation was right on! So you should get a technicality pointe. Rules Committee??

I took that last picture to be a person working behind the table too Dan.:thumbsup2
i like your thinking

We have been having computer network issues here at work since last week. I had a multi quote response written up for the last update when we lost our network once again a couple of hours ago.

Man, there is nothing more frustrating than that. :furious: Just a week or two ago I wrote up a great big multi-reply, hit submit, and it went to never-never land. When I hit the Back button, it was back to just the items I was quoting and all that I had written was lost. :headache:

With that, let me just say yes, Dinosaurs are cool, elephants are cool, and illegal re-entries to museums for an extra picture are just really frickin rebelliously awesome.:thumbsup2

That works! Thanks for commenting even though you lost your first attempt. :)

Ok, in my mad haste to get in my Judy sightings, I forgot to even comment on Lauren's entry! Sorry Lauren!

She was asking where your comments were.

Yes, that is most certainly Teddy Roosevelt.:rotfl: You should really watch the Night at the Museum and Battle at the Smithsonian. Really cute movies with just enough slapstick sarcasm to keep the parents entertained.

I've seen parts of them, but not from start to finish.

Very, very cool about Andrew! Even though I don't do bugs, it looked pretty cool. Even if Lauren had to ahem, illegally creep back in like a criminal to snap a picture...:faint::rotfl:

I think he was hired mainly to catalog their bug collection. They have a lot of bugs that nobody has taken the time to identify and label and whatever else it is they do.

All the dinosaur pics are too cool. You should really try the one here in DC. I too love all those fossils and maybe even wanted to be an archaeologist when I was younger. Though that might have something to do with Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark too.;)

I'll bet you were the girl in Prof. Jones' class with "I love you" written on your eyelids.

I didn't realize that you lived near D.C. You should have come to the big D.C.-meet that we had back in 2010 (I think it was)...maybe you weren't DISing then. I have been to the Smithsonian Natural History museum -- love it! And I love that those museums are free. :thumbsup2

Love the smiling turtle! He truly does look as if he's smiling.:thumbsup2

:teeth:

Sounds like another fantastic day in NYC! Good job!:goodvibes

::yes::

Yay! The universe is saved, whew!:goodvibes

All of humanity.......you're welcome.

I'm finally on the board!:goodvibes

Congrats!

You got that right Glenn! I come from a long line of hecklers. Pretty much every male in my family is one.

I'd say that at least one female is too. :rolleyes1

I'm experienced which is probably why Marvie is so scared of me.:scared:::yes::

Yeah, that's gotta be it.

:rotfl2: Good one! "Judy, look at this picture of yourself, is that you because Marvie says it is!":lmao:

I did tell her that people were wondering about that one. I didn't say who, because I didn't want to bias her one way or another.

You know Glenn, I think you should buy Judy a little present for every contest you have in your TR's. For all the scrutinizing we do looking for her, I could probably pick her out of a crowd over my own kids!:crowded:

I gave her the present ahead of the game -- a trip to Disney. ;)

I was a little surprised that no DISer claimed to have seen her on TV the day they were at the Today show.

You got that right Dan! Though I'm sure Marv will come back with some semi-witty comment claiming he aging like a fine wine or something equally ridiculous.:rolleyes2

No, he wouldn't do that. At least the witty part.

::yes:: Yes, as Glenn said your documentation was right on! So you should get a technicality pointe. Rules Committee??

He gets his paper held up in class so everyone can see how to document their game submissions. Attaboy!

I took that last picture to be a person working behind the table too Dan.:thumbsup2

Judy agrees.

You need to get an iPhone....you can even check on the DIS during meetings, as long as you're :smooth: and sneaky :tiptoe:

Works on my droid too. I really like the app. :teeth:

Man, there is nothing more frustrating than that. :furious: Just a week or two ago I wrote up a great big multi-reply, hit submit, and it went to never-never land. When I hit the Back button, it was back to just the items I was quoting and all that I had written was lost. :headache:

You are not alone. That has happened to me too. :confused3
