City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

Now I can comment on the actual update.

:cool1:

Another great update. Love the light fixture, sooo pretty.

By Swarovski himself. :snooty:

Also great views from the top of the rock. My favorite picture is of Lauren without all the yahoos in the picture.

Which is a picture that's very hard to get in New York. :p (Just kidding, my NYC friends!)

Lunch sounded great, sorry you had to rush. Looking forward to the next installment.

:thumbsup2

Noooooo, of course not, that would be creepy Glenn!:scared: ;)

Then who's that out there?
huh.gif

Crap! I forgot to scan for reflective Judys!!! I think I subconsciously blocked them out because the Rules Committee was so darn strict regarding reflections in the past.:snooty:

Yep, they were allowed once and it's opened up a whole new can 'o worms. That's right, a different can 'o worms than what we originally had. ::yes::

I love the update though! How fun to hear Lauren's perspective on the trip. She has a witty writing style, much like her dad I think, yes?

Moi?

The crystal chandelier is gorgeous and that view is stunning.:thumbsup2 I don't quite get the grass on top of the building though. It doesn't look like it serves any function except to look green? Maybe it's all those ugly air conditioner fan thingys that cheapen it?? Still pretty cool to see a green grass roof!

Maybe it's mold?

Great update Lauren!!:goodvibes

Thanks Molly! I'll tell her you said so.

Amazing view from the top of the Rock! :thumbsup2

My heart would have been pounding out of my chest if I went anywhere near the glass.

On a side note, I played the Statue of Liberty when I was in third grade. Sadly, we don’t have any pictures for comparison, but I’m sure I was much better, not to mention cuter.[/COLOR]
:rotfl: Haha! I bet you were.

OK - I see 1 Judy in real life, but I think I see two more Judy reflections. Does that count?

Another great update. That view is spectacular. I want to do the exact same tour. Love it!

4 Judys !!!!

Pic 6 - reflection in the window
pic 7 - reflection in the window
pic 9 - reflection in the crystal ? a little right of center, tiny little judy
pic 15 - real judy

So fun to get a chance to answer!!!:cool1:

6 Judy's.......

Reflections in 5, 6, 7, 11, and finally 12 behind the actual Judy.....

 I stalk and nothing.... Caught me watching Phelps... and Lochte

5 Judys

6,7,11 and Double judy in 12 Judy and her shadow I mean reflection :)

Not sure about 5, Real Questionable MARV

I have to say, up until now, I have never had any desire to see New York City. But after reading Lauren's experience and knowing you can trade DVC points, I am actually interested. I hope she gets to see the Today show.

And those flower were hydrangeas ..... sorry I work for a landscape architect .... had to correct :flower3:

The room does look really nice. Can't wait to see what they do next. popcorn::

Amazing views from the top!

Can't wait to hear more, I've only driven through NYC. Never had the chance to tour it. Loving all the info.

And the Statue guy? If you'd have gotten a good pic, he'd probably have tried to charge you. There are guys in Chicago that do it all the time.

Finally caught up!

Sorry about the Bieber snafu :sad2: At least the rest of the day went well! All of that artwork is beautiful, I had no idea all that was in the Rockefeller building!

Ooo, just found out how to multi-quote on my phone with the DIS app...it's not intuitively obvious.

Last shot.

Since she has a yellow shirt I think I see her reflection in photo 5, 6 ,7 and 10. Of course she's in photo 11.

Good job picking up the reflections, but that's not quite the count that the Rules Committee saw.

At the Skylon Tower in Toronto they have a section of glass floor that you can walk across. Talk about freaky!

They do count...but you're still shy of the count we got.

Oh well. The Olympics will end, but this TR will go on for a while longer. :rolleyes1

5 Judys

6,7,11 and Double judy in 12 Judy and her shadow I mean reflection :)

Not sure about 5, Real Questionable MARV

No, you can see the reflection in 5...you can see her yellow shirt just to the left of the arm of the woman in the yellow/orange sweater.

You know what, I'm with you on that. When we were looking at places we could trade-out for, for her little graduation excursion, I was open to getting anything within driving distance, like New England-area down to the Carolinas, and I probably would have opted for more "restful" but she only wanted New York City. Now that they've gone and tested the waters, we may go sometime for a day-trip.

And those flower were hydrangeas ..... sorry I work for a landscape architect .... had to correct :flower3:

I clearly have no idea, so didn't know to correct it. Thanks.

Subbing and LOVING your report! Can't wait to read more!!

Hi and :welcome: HippoHappy!! And welcome to the DIS too. I'm glad you're enjoying the report. :)

Well I win the How many Lauren's right Glenn !!!!:lmao:

Um, yeah, sure. Although you know, we're not actually doing that game. :confused3

Pret-ty nice!

Can't wait to hear more, I've only driven through NYC. Never had the chance to tour it. Loving all the info.

Good! I'm glad we're providing some service here.

And the Statue guy? If you'd have gotten a good pic, he'd probably have tried to charge you. There are guys in Chicago that do it all the time.

I never considered that. Somebody said the same thing about the fake Mickey and Minnie a couple of chapters back.

Finally caught up!

Sorry about the Bieber snafu :sad2: At least the rest of the day went well! All of that artwork is beautiful, I had no idea all that was in the Rockefeller building!

Hey, glad you're caught up. Fortunately their planner had some things planned for the rest of the day so they wouldn't dwell on the Bieber snafu.

Now you have some insight into that building when (if) you watch "30 Rock".
