City, Sand, and Savanna - Link to new trip report

Marv you are alive !!!!! I haven't seen you n my threads lately !!! Of course I know what Security is like at Disney;):rotfl2:

Great celebrity sighting! I always seem to miss those at WDW - I did see Neil Patrick Harris once in Epcot but he was being frog marched by a Guest Relations army from backstage to the stage in America for the Candlelight Processional, so I barely registered he was there before he was gone!

Darn you Beverly, you foiled us again!

That does look like a hilarious future - I love TRs with Spaceship Earth because I get to see other people's futures! I always seem to pick the same one

Great final PP pics! Now how bout these fireworks?

A few more replies, while I can! I'll get caught up one of these days.

Oh NO! Poppy has the dread swiss cheese head!

How does that happen?

So, Glen, its been so long since you posted that I was sure you dropped off the DIS boards. So glad that wasn't the case.

Thank you, no, just having trouble keeping up.

John Stamos - now that IS a legit celebrity sighting. Quite honestly the paparazzi in me likes the pictures better of you stalking John Stamos than if you were actually in the picture. I mean - you HAD to take those pictures, right? And to think you waited over a year to post them. What restraint!

Hey, living the life I am, when every day is chock full of excitement, waiting a year to post a celebrity sighting was no big deal. ;)

I have to admit, I would have loved to see John Stamos pose with your parents.
That would have been a hoot.

Oh, that would’ve been good...they had no idea who he was. Ooo, even better, I should’ve gotten a picture of them with his mom! :rotfl:

On a side note - He still is pretty darn cute!

My last TR all the ladies were drooling over the Darth Maul guy, now Stamos. Sheesh.

Great update. Well worth waiting a month for. :rolleyes1

Yay!

I agree with all the other Judy Counts except the last I say 9 Judy's !!!!

Oh boy. :stir:

Let me just say that John Stamos is looking mighty fine at his age. :goodvibes

He is getting pretty old though, isn’t he? (Hey, I’ve gotta find something wrong with the guy. ;))

What a fun update, Glenn. From your spotting a celebrity, to wonderful photopass pictures, your ride on Spaceship Earth your daughter drawing with a broom...this was an update that brought many smiles.

Thank you! Mission accomplished! :)

Glenn didn't you rush to find some yoghurt or John Stamos:rotfl2:

You know, I forgot that he’s doing a yogurt commercial now. Good catch Rosie!

I'm with Gram I love Fiogment to

:thumbsup2

Really great SE pix of you and Judy !!!

Thank you Rosie. That was easily my favorite SE “Future” ever. Hilarious.

That's sooo cool about seeing John Stamos! He has aged very well might I add! ;)

Totally not necessary to add that. But it does seem to be the consensus opinion around here!

I agree that I think you made the right decision to hang back and not invade their space. But you do have a couple photos. :thumbsup2 You can always take your SE photo and photoshop yourself in!! :lmao:

Thanks for reassuring me Brenda. Hmm, that photoshop job could be interesting. I used to be able to do that in Photobucket, but they made the editing tools so difficult that I’m sure I’ll never get that done. But that could be one good picture!

Loved the SE narration - including the least photographed mannequin. Yep, don't have a photo of him in my collection. :)

Something for you to get next time. He needs some love!

Lovely collection of family photos at the entrance to Epcot.

Aw, thanks!

Ahhhh... all caught up! Finally! :happytv:

Whew, I was waiting for you. Wasn’t sure how long I could deprive these other readers of an update.

Fantastic find with the Stamos pic... btw, that was incredibly polite of you to fuzz out his family's faces! :thumbsup2

Thanks. Well, I think I mentioned it in a response to DisneyKid4Life, it was partly politeness and partly that I don’t want to hear from his lawyers or have my thread closed or the picture removed, etc.

I understand about the non reaction to Beverly... I had taken a trip with DD's bestie and her Mom to ATL and we went to World of Coke (the museum, bottling company etc etc) I had her try Beverly and it totally made up for the lack of response I got from my DH at Club Cool!! I also was lucky enough to get pics of our DD's trying coke for the first time! HA! :rotfl:

Sounds like fun! :thumbsup2

Cant wait to read up about the Fireworks! We only have 6 days left till we are back visiting the Mouse!! :cool1:

Oh wow! Have a great trip!

What a fun update!

I think you definitely did the right thing not asking for a picture. He was on vacation! That has to get old (and he has to make it look like he doesn't mind). He might not mind...but I'd bet it gets very old for his family.

Love the future world tour and the kids got a lot done, sorry you were robbed on a non reaction from Beverly. The jumping picture is fabulous!!!!

Still chipping away at replies!

Glennbo!! Is that really you? :faint: Glad to see you back! :)

Hi Camille! Sorry that I’ve been away so long that you have to say, “Is that really you?” :rotfl:

Not only back, but with a mega update!! :yay:

I thought I owed you at least that much.

The pictures of y'all on SE are hilarious!! For some reason ours never work out. :confused3

These were easily the best I’ve ever gotten. We laughed so hard.

John Stamos huh? I always thought he was a pretty good looking guy, still is. ::yes:: :thumbsup2
I wonder if that indeed is his mother? I have a little story about him.
Back in 1990 I lived in southern Calif. for a short time, one day my dad and I had to pick up a prescription and it just so happened to be in a retirement community not far from where my dad lived. It was called Leisure World, nice area but when you drove into that neighborhood you felt like you stepped into a time warp, everything moved in s l o o o o o w m o o o o t i o n.

Any who.....my dad and I walked into the drug store and while he was getting the scrip, I decided I needed a couple of things. I stepped into line to pay for my items and there was this older gentlemen who had 10-15 bottles of red hair dye on the conveyer belt, red dye just like the red hair you see in the picture of the woman in the wheel chair (I'll never forget that color of red). He told me he was buying it for his wife since there were coupons in the paper and it was on sale.
We got to talking and come to find out this guy was none other than John Stamos's uncle, and let me tell you, he really wanted to be sure I knew that about him. :rotfl: The way he told me was so hilarious, I bet that man had just about every possible way to segway into being John's uncle nailed down. :rotfl2:
He even took out his wallet and showed me several pictures of Mr. Stamos, high school picture and all! His uncle was very proud of his nephew. This is one of the pictures he showed me...

:rotfl: except it was in color. I about busted out laughing when he showed me that one, but not as bad as I wanted to laugh when he showed me some the candid shots he had of John and himself in his wallet. As if to prove he really knew him! :rotfl: It was so cute.

His uncle was so sweet. I wonder if the aunt and his mom have the same "red" hair or if that's his aunt?!? I guess we'll never know since you didn't go up and ask to be his new best friend, Glenn! :rotfl:

What a great story Camille! And you were able to find his high school picture for illustration, fantastic! It’s so funny how people will name-drop to impress others, and I guess a drug store checkout line is as good a place as any to do that.

Hey, would you be impressed to learn that my sister’s former-roommate’s cousin is Oscar-winner Phillip Seymour Hoffman? It’s true!

So close...maybe next time. I did miss the Conga line one.

That was a tricky one, but Marv’s been at it so long he knows to look for stuff like that.

Nevertheless, it was a fun update to read. Very cool that you got to see John Stamos.

It was kinda cool, and good trip report material too!

I am so oblivious to other people that I could have been in line with John Stamos and would never have seem him.

Judy’s the same way. She would have never noticed him.

What I really wanted to know was what did the hat he was wearing really look like. In the photo, it looked like a winter toboggan hat, but surely he wasn't wearing something like that in the summer.

That is a good question, and I don’t have a very good answer for you. I’m not sure what it is -- it’s not classic winter toboggan-type hat. Probably something from John Varvatos.

Uncle Jessie!!!! :thumbsup2

Yep-er!

What a great Epcot day. Love the "future" pics. And it sounds like the kids found a lot of fun things to do on their own as well.

More great PP pics too.

Thanks. Yes, an all-around good day…the older folks had a good time, the kids enjoyed doing their own thing. You can’t beat that.

Wow Mega Updates!

You didn’t see that one coming, didja?

So cool that you saw John Stamos and he appreciated your low key reaction.:thumbsup2 I'm sure his family would like to just have a regular day out like everyone else.

Oh good, I’m glad you think so. :goodvibes

Love the Glen and Judy of the future! :rotfl2: Looks like you are going to be hypochondriac! :lmao:

Well now that you mention it, I have a little tickle in my throat, I wonder if I should see the doctor.

Glad the kids had so much fun, and Marlene did a great job on the Mickey painting - maybe she could do that for a Summer job! :goodvibes

They did have a good time on their own. Yes, and what a great summer job that would be! I had a summer job painting when I was her age, only it was houses, and was not fun.

Nice family pics at Epcot! Don't tell anyone you remember the Dating Game - What are you talking about? :rotfl2:

Ha! I had that thought when I posted that! But I was just a wee lad when it was on, I have older siblings. ;)

Yeah, that must be it. ;)

I was wondering when someone would comment on that!

I'm sure he gets that a lot. I probably would have opted for letting him enjoy his vacation in peace as well.:thumbsup2

Yeah, he was letting me enjoy mine in peace&I should return the favor.

 How did you know?

I've got ESPN.

Anyway, I'm shocked! Shocked! There was no line.

True story. Somehow we were at the right place, at the right time. Or&we were there, then.

Booo. That is very disappointing.

Yeah, I dont think Ill be posting that one on the Beverly thread.

Soo...did it work?:confused3

They said it was too easy and took all the fun out of it. Go figure.

Roses are red,
violets are blue,
I just got a pummelo...

Man, poetry is hard.

You moonlight as a Hallmark writer, dont you?

But still cool.

I agree, Im sure it wasnt the easiest thing to duplicate that logo in lettuce leaves.

I would totally go for that!

You could just set the velveeta in the sun and let it melt a little and youd be all set. Well, assuming youve got nachos, of course. And a beverage. And a lounge chair. All right, theres a few things to put together yet.

This makes cacti pretty much the only living thing that can co-exist with brussel sprouts. :crazy2:

Just had some brussel sprouts for lunch today. Love 'em.

:lmao: Nice work!

:)

Lots of great shots here!

:goodvibes

Very cool! She did good work.:thumbsup2

She excelled at staying-within-the-lines in preschool and it finally paid off.

Hi Camille! Sorry that I’ve been away so long that you have to say, “Is that really you?” :rotfl:

Just happy to know all is okay. I was starting to worry about you.

These were easily the best I’ve ever gotten. We laughed so hard.

Those are the best moments on a vacation. :)

It’s true!

That is impressive! He's a fantastic actor, I wish he hadn't let himself go as much as he did. I think he would have been in a lot more movies and even bigger roles if he hadn't. Hollywood standards, not mine.

No need to answer back to this. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Uncle Jesse. I would have been screaming like a little girl.
Great pics from Living with the Land.
Love the pic from Spaceship Earth.
The video is funny and the two of you have great dancing skills. LOL
Nice photopass pics.
Looks like it was a fun time.

I loved Full House. I think my favorite was when they went to Disney World. Please tell me they were filming a sequel.:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I have to confess that I never watched it. I think it started right around the time that I joined the workaday world and got a little too busy for a lot of tv. The only episode that I’ve seen (and not even all of that one) is where the Dave Coulier goes on Star Search.

I've got to say, I think you did the right thing here. I would have done the same.

Good, you’ve got me feeling better about my decision.

Unless of course he was in the Grand Floridian by the piano... you know that whole Full House thing. If you could get a picture with Uncle Jesse in the GF lobby there is no way you could say no to that. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Uh oh, I think this is a show reference lost on me. (See earlier confession.)

Well played, Glenn. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I thought it was pretty darned funny how she was still holding that fan for the picture. :rotfl2:

See... that ride used to be one of the best in the park. It may just be a shadow of itself now, but some people still remember it in its glory! :lmao:

Yeah, okay, maybe. But I think it was more that my mom really resonated with the overall message, which was, hey, a whole lot of creativity could be unleashed if we all improved and used our imaginations. And it’s hard to argue with that.

I think the typical Beverly reaction is just done based on expectation, rather than surprise. I mean it isn't "good" or something I'd go out of my way to drink, but it isn't the worst thing I've ever tried. :confused3

Very true. I think they didn’t react because they knew that I was looking for one, since I was taking their picture. Some of the best reactions I’ve seen were other park guests in there who were going down the line, trying the different sweet carbonated drinks and all of a sudden they hit the Beverly…whoa! :lmao:

You found all kinds of "secret" passages on this trip. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I’m like the Magellan of DisneyWorld!

Tecnically, they should change that sign. They aren't Nine Pound Lemons yet. They're probably more like 4 1/2 pound lemons.

That’s where they get ya!

It’s all part of a global conspiracy. Did you see where a Double Stuf Oreo isn't actually double stuff?

Don't tempt me to try it... :scratchin

Pictures or it didn’t happen!

Coo! Nice job, Marlene! :thumbsup2

Gracias.

you could have at least done the stand ther eand have someone else in your party take the picture with him in the background...then you would have been in it without having to ask him.

:)
Oh dang. I never thought of that! Where were you when I needed you?

I think that pictures speaks volumes. :rotfl2:

Yeah, like I just said to Andy, they obviously knew something was up because I was all set to take their picture.

Not even in the wedding party this time. :crazy2: Work conference this week, well waiting to go to airport now, finally getting some time to catch up.

Don’t worry, I think you’ve got the bridesmaid title :bride: all sewn up.

Congrats Marv. Stalker.... :tiptoe:

No doubt.

Love your TR writing style. You crack me up :rotfl: How cool you saw Uncle Jesse! In another TR there was a mention of seeing him in the park. I seem to remember reading he's a big fan of the parks. I really enjoy your reports - thanks for all the updates :cool1:

Oh, thank you! Yeah, I think I somehow had heard that he might in the parks that week but I have no recollection of where I heard/saw that. I’ve heard that too…I think he goes to DisneyLand a lot.

Great, I’m glad that you’re enjoying them! :goodvibes

Great update, Glenn! I was just starting to worry that you were trying to beat my record for longest time between updates ever! ;)

I concede the title to you Nory!

That's really cool that you got to see Uncle Jesse, and not even eating any yoghurt!

I wonder what shop around the World Showcase he could have found that in?

I love it that the kids got to have such a good time in Epcot on their own. And you've trained them so well when it comes to Photopass pics!

I do have ‘em trained! They’re good kids, I was happy to let them go off on their own so that they didn’t have to move slowly with the rest of us.

I think you should have that Your Future pic (the one of you getting out of bed) framed, hang it on the wall somewhere. Use it for future alumni catalogs and the like.

Hmmm, maybe a new avatar??? :scratchin

This is the final decision I usually lean towards! I figure there are times that they have to be thinking........."It sure would be nice if I could just go out in public and have a normal day like everyone else."

Yes, and my family is still waiting for a “normal” day too. ;)

Remind me to tell you my Robin Williams story sometime...........

Hey, tell me your Robin Williams story sometime. (You can’t say that I didn’t wait a while before asking!)

WHAT? No wait for Journey Into Imagination??? I can't possibly imagine why................ :confused3

Yep, believe it. No wait!

Yes, it is always disappointing when a good practical joke flops before your very eyes............. :sad2:

Imagine the Price is Right loser music: Ba da ba ba dah, waaaaah.

Just not on MY plate................ :)

Hey, I ask for Brussel Sprouts for my birthday dinner!

Actually, until I detected from the other four plants that it was the root system I was looking at, I was thinking "now how did that bird get in there feeding on the plants like that?" , when I first looked at the plant on the right.

Eyes playin’ tricks on ya.

Really cool that Lauren could hold James up in the air like that by only the back of his neck!!! :rolleyes1

She’s stronger than she looks. ;) We always carry James around like a lion cub.

Really great family photo! I like everything about this one! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Marv you are alive !!!!! I haven't seen you n my threads lately !!! Of course I know what Security is like at Disney;):rotfl2:

Security will visit you in the form of Marv. :rotfl:

Great celebrity sighting! I always seem to miss those at WDW - I did see Neil Patrick Harris once in Epcot but he was being frog marched by a Guest Relations army from backstage to the stage in America for the Candlelight Processional, so I barely registered he was there before he was gone!

I know, I’ve seen them in a trip report or two, but this was a first for me.

Darn you Beverly, you foiled us again!

I blame it on the setup, I made too much of a fuss. It needs to be more impromptu, but it’s hard to have the camera ready for that.

That does look like a hilarious future - I love TRs with Spaceship Earth because I get to see other people's futures! I always seem to pick the same one

Judy always picks eating vegetables and exercising. Sheesh! Where do I answer that in the future I just want to sit around, watching TV, eating Krispy Kreme’s, while DISing?

Great final PP pics! Now how bout these fireworks?

Thanks! Hey, how ‘bout dem fireworks?

What a fun update!

Thanks Cynthia!

I think you definitely did the right thing not asking for a picture. He was on vacation! That has to get old (and he has to make it look like he doesn't mind). He might not mind...but I'd bet it gets very old for his family.

Yeah, obviously that’s where I came out on it too, but man I would’ve loved to have had a better story for the trip report. But hey, the poor guy was on vacation, it wasn’t a meet-n-greet.

Love the future world tour and the kids got a lot done, sorry you were robbed on a non reaction from Beverly. The jumping picture is fabulous!!!!

Since the kids don’t read TRs on the DIS like I do, they didn’t know about “jumping pictures” so they thought it was awesome that the Photopass guy had them do that. And yes, I think it turned out pretty good too!

No need to answer back to this. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Are you kidding? That's like asking a southern gentleman not to say "ma'am". It just wouldn't be right not to acknowledge your comments!

Just happy to know all is okay. I was starting to worry about you.

No, we're fine, just a lot going on. As John Lennon sang, "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

Those are the best moments on a vacation.

:thumbsup2

That is impressive! He's a fantastic actor, I wish he hadn't let himself go as much as he did. I think he would have been in a lot more movies and even bigger roles if he hadn't. Hollywood standards, not mine.

Yeah, maybe. I don't think he sees himself as a leading man, so is okay with not having "the perfect look". I just watched "Moneyball" a week or so ago and was surprised to see him cast as a baseball manager. For that part, letting himself go might've worked in his favor.

Uncle Jesse. I would have been screaming like a little girl.

Now that, I would've liked to see! :rotfl2:

Great pics from Living with the Land.
Love the pic from Spaceship Earth.

The waking up one, I assume? I love that one!

The video is funny and the two of you have great dancing skills. LOL

Oh yeah, you've never seen dancing like this before.

Nice photopass pics.
Looks like it was a fun time.

A very nice afternoon. Thanks Scott!

Ok, it's fall break so I have to catch up on all my TR's!

John Stamos - wow! I think you did a very courteous thing in not asking for his autograph. I'm sure he appreciated you much more than the other people! :thumbsup2 So you can pat yourself on the back knowing you did your good deed for your trip. :rotfl:

Looks like you guys thoroughly enjoyed your Epcot day. The kids really got a lot done while they were on their own! We did Spaceship Earth for the first time in a while on our last trip - we never got our future emailed to us, either. :confused3 Maybe in December.

Hey Glennbo! Just returned (okay a week ago) from 10 wonderful days in WDW, and now got to relieve it all again as I got caught up on your TR! Btw...it was 90 and humid while we were there....and we stumbled upon the magic AIR CONDITIONED hallway that you and your family had previously found. I don't know why they don't label it on the EPCOT map as "Air Conditioning Oasis"...no FP needed! I kept asking DH if we could ride the AC Hallway again! Definitely keeping that one in mind as well!

And that's awesome that you saw Uncle Jesse! Was he handing out Oikos Yogurts?! Too bad.

Keep it coming!:surfweb:

Your wedding has occurred by this point, correct Yuki? Something tells me you'll get plenty more opportunities for "kiss on the cheek" photos. :goodvibes

The guy gets the short end of the stick with that border!

I'm not sure which one you're talking about Yuki. Whichever one, I didn't do anything special, I can tell you that!

Yes, I'm happily married now :goodvibes I'll definitely make that request on future trips!

I wish I could've gotten that border too! It's so funny!

I just learned that John Stamos is actually a huge Disney fan. How cool is that?

Ok, it's fall break so I have to catch up on all my TR's!

:cool1:

John Stamos - wow! I think you did a very courteous thing in not asking for his autograph. I'm sure he appreciated you much more than the other people! :thumbsup2 So you can pat yourself on the back knowing you did your good deed for your trip. :rotfl:

Thanks Jen. I just took your advice and patted myself on the back. ;)

Looks like you guys thoroughly enjoyed your Epcot day. The kids really got a lot done while they were on their own! We did Spaceship Earth for the first time in a while on our last trip - we never got our future emailed to us, either. :confused3 Maybe in December.

It was a good Epcot day! So weird how that e-mail thing is hit or miss. :confused3

Hey Glennbo!

Hey nittanyliongirl02! I am still basking in the glow of that Michigan game, how 'bout you?

Just returned (okay a week ago) from 10 wonderful days in WDW, and now got to relieve it all again as I got caught up on your TR! Btw...it was 90 and humid while we were there....and we stumbled upon the magic AIR CONDITIONED hallway that you and your family had previously found. "Oasis" is a great description for it at times like that! So you stumbled upon it, like I did?

I'm glad that you had a wonderful 10 days! Sounds like you had a great time.

And that's awesome that you saw Uncle Jesse! Was he handing out Oikos Yogurts?! Too bad.

Really, free food would’ve made it even better!

Keep it coming!:surfweb:

Oh, I'm working on it. I will not leave this work unfinished!
