DH & I are planning on a romantic dinner in July. We used to go to Cal Grille before it was so crowded and the food used to be unique. We've dined in the past at Citricos and loved it. Is Narcoosie's the same atmosphere? How about the food choices and quality? We'd like to try something different and we'll be staying in BLT so you can't beat the commute!

Thanks

Narcoossee's atmosphere is a little more casual than Citricos, but they both have about the same kind of not-too-fussy upscale feel.

We've eaten at Narcoossee's twice so far and both times were unimpressed by the food. The quality of the fish, especially, does not seem to be on a par with other Signature restaurants on property. We had far better scallops at Yachtsman Steakhouse than the rubbery, metallic-tasting ones we got at Narcoossee's (this was in February '09).

However, we still had a very romantic time and enjoyed the view of the lake and the Magic Kingdom. And they gave us a free dessert for celebrating our anniversary. :goodvibes

Citricos has a more sophisticated menu and better tasting food. Narcoosees is one of the restaurants that I feel has definitely went downhill with the popularity of the dining plan (everyone wants to go get the mediocre lobster because it's a great deal on the plan) and since our most recent 3 visits here have been mediocre, we have taken it off our rotation list for now. For fish, Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is so much better. Although Citricos can be packed and noisy, the food quality has remained above average.

Narcoossee's has the view of the fireworks, but that's the only thing that might make it "better" than Citrico's. It has a high ceiling and wood floors, and when you add the kids that are there to watch the fireworks, it can be noisy. We've had a couple of good meals there and a couple of poor ones--those mainly due to service issues.

I'd pick Citricos over Narcoosee's. Narcoossee's always leaves me unimpressed.

My favorite signature that I recommend you try if you haven't is Jiko.
