Citricos or Artist Point?

How does the California Grill comapre the Citricos and Artist's Point?

You could get many different opinions comparing the three and there will be a favorite from so many. My thoughts on the CG; I think it's a decent restaurant with an incredible view of Wishes and WDW at night that can't be beat. But with that said, I have had spotty service and also think the place can get very loud. The food is good, but I still much prefer the food at Citricos and Artist Point. How would I rank them between the three?
  1. Artist Point- I love the quietness of the restaurant, excellent service and excellent food.
  2. Citricos- Does not have a blow me away view (neither does Artist Point), but the food is excellent as is the service. Citricos is a place I didn't try for years and once I did made me wonder what on earth I waited so long for.
  3. California Grill- It's a good restaurant, but for me it's not even in my top 5 Disney Signature restaurants.

I loved every bite and sip of my meal at CG, but I would choose Citricos over it any day. I never quite felt relaxed at my meal at CG, be it from our server being only average to feeling like I was infinitely out of place (it's hard to explain, I just felt like I didn't quite "fit" with the rest of the guests). The food was excellent, though. However, the bison at AP was ever so slightly better, IMO. And AP has a better beer selection. (And I thought Citricos' wine menu was better, if more limited.) That said, there's something about a breathtaking sunset view of the Magic Kingdom while you eat dessert that's hard to beat.

As for Artist Point, I had an excellent meal with a fantastic server, and the only thing keeping me from saying that it's on-par with Citricos is that I found the atmosphere to be slightly darker and more suited to an intimate meal with a significant other than for a family dinner, whereas Citricos is bright and feels much more open, which made me much more relaxed able to enjoy my meal as a happy gathering. Again, it's hard to explain, but Artist Point is quiet and sequestered away from the rest of the resort, much like Citricos, but in a different sense. Citricos has the quiet ambiance of a rooftop terrace in the south of France, where I felt Artist Point had the quiet ambiance of a private cabin in the mountains (as it should). It all comes down to, IMO, what sort of atmosphere you're looking for. For me, Citricos is more flexible.

CG is really not in the same league as Citricos or Artist Point, despite Disney's attempt to lump them in the same group. The food and service are better at Citricos and AP, while CG seems to rely on the view to differentiate itself.

My wife turns 45, old lady, 1/28 and i would like to take her for a special meal. Do you think yatchmans and a stroll on the boardwalk or citricos or AP? Any suggestions are welcome!

Wow, very difficult choice. All three would fit the bill. I'd give the edge to AP or Citricos on the romantic side. But you won't be disappointed in whichever you pick.

I agree with all of this, though I think the AP view can be fabulous if you get a table by the waterfall. I would also pick AP and Citricos over 'Ohana.

Artist point, for sure. I also agree that Cali Grill does not compare - we have found their food has gone seriously downhill over the past few years and the atmosphere is terrible - noisy and full of overtired children.
