Citrico's/Artist Point/Jiko -- Which Would you Choose?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences! Right now I have a Citrico's reservation that I'm leaning towards keeping, but I seem to have a bad case of indecision when it comes to this first meal!:headache: What would you say if I added Narcoosee's to the mix?

I found the comments very interesting and yes, I really feel it is true that you can certainly have different experiences in the same restaurant, depending on the waiter, the chef, etc. that night. That said, the Yachtsman is a good place for steak, but Shula's, at the Dolphin, is MUCH better. We have never had a bad meal there. The service is always top-drawer and the steak is --- fantastic. We also like the Flyling Fish, but you do need to know what to order. We like to sit at the "bar" and watch them cook, or over at the "bar" on the other side. It is very relaxed and we have a great time, talking to everyone. The California Grill is not my favorite place for good food, but the view is wonderful. Artist's Point is OK, if you like fish, but again, I like the dining room better than the food.
The Brown Derby is fun and there are some good things to order - like the Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit Cake. My husband loves the Grouper. It is a little disquieting though, sitting there in that gorgeous venue, with all those "tourists" clattering through with their shorts and t-shirts! You feel like everyone should be in formal dress! Go later, if you can. There are fewer children and the walk out after the park is closed is beautiful. Hope this helps!:dance3:

We felt the SAME way with Jiko. I just couldn't understand what all the fuss was about? It all seemed to taste the same and leave a bad taste in my mouth. DH agreed. Our cuts of meat were much to be desired when we went as well. I ordered the filet and it was the worst one I had during my entire visit. BLAH.

Same here :confused3
We are willing to gove Jiko another try...Citrico's is still by far, our #1! popcorn::

Ok fine. I still didn't think it tasted amazing for what it was. Didn't get enough crab flavor. And if it's not supposed to be compared to a crab cake, then the servers shouldn't do that when they're making menu suggestions. :confused3

I agree that the servers should not be comparing it to a crab cake. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. I just had to stick up for Citricos because it's my favorite place and I've always had amazing food and service there. I have not tried the Crab Gateau yet though.

I would say not to confuse things further, because Narcoossee's isn't worthy of it's signature status. Citricos, Jiko, and AP are all much better.

You are so right...I certainly don't need to confuse things even more than they already are. I will probably keep the Citrico's reservation, but I may show my husband the menus and some pictures and let him pick. Unfortunately that tactic won't help either. My prediction is I will get one of two responses..."Whatever you want is fine with me dear!" OR "Just tell me where I need to be and when I need to be there!":rolleyes1

My vote would be for Citricos, I thought the food was unbelievable...but I've never eaten at Artist Point, and I have heard raving reviews about that restaurant...Artist Point is also supposed to have one of the best wine selections in Disney
