We are possibly going to Cirque for my son's 9th birthday. He has said many times that he would like to go, but I just checked pricing and WOW, pretty expensive. I am likely booking the best seats because I wan't to be assurred of lots of pixie dust since it is his birthday, but is the cost really worth it? Someone please assure me......

I would say it is absolutely worth it, especially if you have never been to cirque du soleil or La Nouba before. I've only seen La Nouba (twice) and Varekai, I preferred the permanent La Nouba by far. We also didn't have good seats for the traveling Varekai and that hindered my enjoyment a little bit.

It's an amazing show and lots of fun. I'd seen them on TV several times before I went to La Nouba for the first time. It's just not comparable. It was completely unforgettable.

I'm going to see Corteo this month.

Absolutely wonderful!!!!:thumbsup2 I was amazed...

One tip I picked up on these boards...the most expensive seats are considered by many to be NOT as good as the second tier seats ...if you are too close you don't get the whole feel of the show...we had Section 204 Category 2 and they were great.

Enjoy..you won't regret it.....

I agree with maggie. Get Category 2 seats, and you will still have plenty of pixie dust. The show takes place over a very large area.

The feats of athleticsim and grace were amazing. They truly deserved the standing ovation they got from the crowd.

We've seen the show twice & loved it both times. I agree with the previous posters re: the seating. The first time we were in the first tier & the second time was tier 2. The view from tier 2 was great. Take a look at the seating chart and try for center area seats.

The show is one of the best things that I have ever seen in my life!! It was fantastic and strange all at the same time! I agree also about the seating. My family was in the second level in the center. I think if you sit to close you will lose the "feel" of the show. It is pricy but it is something that you will remember for a life time!!

We will be going for the first time in January. The person at the box office when we purchased actualy suggested the 2nd tier seats and said they would be better than the highest priced ones.

We absolutely loved the Cirque, and were also on Category 2 tickets.
I have read some people don't like it, you could look in youtube for clips and decide for yourself.

La Nouba has some acts from other Cirque productions, but others are particular to this one. Anyway, we really loved it.

From my TR this past November:

I cannot rave about this show enough. We all agree that it is a definite must-do. If you have never seen this show – Go. On your next trip. We had 2nd category seating and it was perfect. So much of the show goes on in the air and behind the category 1 seating that it would be difficult to watch this show from any other level than where we were at. I highly recommend our seating and this show. I just wouldn't take little, little kids or anyone who can't get there by 5:45 or anyone who can't sit for 2 hours. I mention the 5:45 thing because there is a little pre-show at 5:45 and it was highly annoying for me that people were still entering the theater during this. Yes, I know, it's advertised that the show starts at 6 but get there early people. You won't regret it and others may.

But again - if you haven't gone. Go. Don't even think about it. You won't regret one moment!

We have been twice and it left us speechless both times (very unusual in our family!!!) It is absolutely worth the money.

absolutely go see it but you'll enjoy it from any seat.
John

I've never been but got tickets for May in Cat. 2 on the advise of these boards. Can't wait!

I am so glad I read this thread. My DM is taking my DD to Cirque for her birthday while we are visiting and we were going to buy front and center seats. I'll have to let her know to get Cat 2 seating instead!

We had front row seats in the middle section and it was like being a part of the show cause you were so close. I don't regret paying for those seats at all!
