Hi everyone,

Me and my housemate are planning on getting a last minute deal to FL for my birthday in October, just to go out for a week. I'd love to have a birthday meal at Cindy's Royal Table but I'm not sure when I should be booking. In my planning book it says reservations are open from 90 days in advance, how fast do they fill up? We'd be looking to eat there in the evening on Oct 9th (my actual birthday) so obviously our booking window would be opening in the next fortnight if my book's right.

Also as we'll only be booking last minute there's a good chance we won't find a deal and won't be able to go. If I'd already booked a meal there, what would I have to do to cancel it, are there any charges for cancelling? I don't want to stop someone else booking if I end up not going but I know if I don't book I won't get in myself.

Finally what times are dinner reservations available (ideally we'd like to eat and then go out to watch Wishes but we know arranging that will be very hard), how do I book and is the menu available on the net anywhere (housemate is extremely picky)?

You shouldn't be too bad for Cindy's for dinner as there is there is no character interaction. The breakfast you have to nail 90 days and pray to the Disney gods for. To the best of my knowledge you won't have to pay anything up front as you do for breakfast - they may ask for a card to reserve. Should you not cancel with enough notice (I suspect it is 48 hours) then they may charge you.

As for times, again I can't say for definite but you shouldn't have too many probs seeing the fireworks - bear in mind certain areas are closed off (a section of Fantasyland is for fear of getting hit by fireworks!) and coming out the front will be crammed with people.

If you do want to see Wishes and have a nice meal I can heartly recommend the California Grill at the Contemporary - they have an observation deck you can go out onto and see Wishes from - they also pipe the music through - it is stunning (but not cheap). You can check out their menu over at www.allearsnet.com under the Dining section - you'll actually also find info on Cindy's as well.

I would make the booking and then you can cancel it - I wouldn't worry about that. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you mention when booking that it is your birthday, wear a Disney birthday badge and let your server know - they treat you like royalty!!

I'll stop babbling now so someone with some sense can come on and tell you what you want to know!!

Well said maleficent man, not much to add to that just that I booked for B/F for CRT for 22nd Sept last Friday, was at work so had to wait until almost 1pm to call (booking office open from 12pm our time) and got offered 8.30 or 9.05 on the day I asked for.

Had to leave credit card number but can cancel 48 hours before without penalty.
They give you a booking reference number that you need to have with you and they are very helpful - I always hope to be on hold for a little while as the 'hold music' is real disney songs!!

The number is 001 407 WDW DINE (001 407 939 3463). Good luck!!

Yipes that's one very posh menu... doubt my housemate will find anything to eat! All we want is a steak and fries!!! Will have to keep looking aorund!
