Got through almost straight away.....got a table for 3 @ 9am.....

I am sooooo excited and endebted to the advice on this website!

This will be our first ever trip to WDW and for my daughter to have her 7th birthday @ cindy's will be a fabulous suprise!

We also booked 1900 @ GF for dinner - well and truely cindied out by the end of the day

When we called in this AM we had to go through a long menu BEFORE we got into the queue. Is there any way to avoid this long process to get in the queue faster?

We did manage to get the PSB at EPCOT but really want CRT.

The advice I followed, to by pass the menus, is just hit 1, then 1 again - takes you straight through to person! Worked perfect for me!

We all LOVED the dinner with Cindy at 1900 Park Fare ~ the food is great and our daughter loved Cindy's mice and especially Prince Charming. We will definately do this dinner again next time.... which reminds me... where is the link to begin a new counter for our trip in May? Thanks! Nancy

Glad to hear that 1900 Park Fare (or is it Park Fair?) is an enjoyable meal.

This is our first trip to Disney and our daughters, ages 8 & 9, are looking forward to a princess character meal. I understand that the most desirable one is of course CRT, and if we do have the opportunity to do CRT we certainly will (have called 3 - 4 times in the last week alone with no luck as yet). However, in the meantime, I managed to secure a PS for 1900 Park Fare Dinner with Cindy. Subsequently, I was able to get a breakfast sitting (w/ a cc required PS) for Norway, The Storybook Princess Breakfast. I think that, for the most part, this is a more desirable character meal than the 1900 Park Fare Dinner.

However, I am actually thinking that if we cannot get an opportunity for the CRT breakfast, we may actually prefer the dinner rather than the Princess Storybook Breakfast. There are a couple of reasons for this, first that we would prefer a sit down dinner - we like breakfast on the go. I don't see us eating much at breakfast. With 5 of us altogether I am sure it will cost us close to $100, and I don't think we will enjoy the meal itself much. We may be willing to do this to have the opportunity to eat in the castle with Cindy, but I don't think that we would be as likely to do that to have breakfast at Norway (though we do like the variety of princesses at this meal).

So, for those of you who have experienced The Storybook Breakfast and or the 1900's Park Fare Dinner w/ Cindy, would we be making a mistake in passing this opportunity up for the Park Fare Dinner instead? Any opinions to sway us one way or another.

Oh, and we have already considered doing both, but we are more than likely doing just one princess meal. My son (5) gets to have a character meal choice too. We are thinking the Restaurantosaurus (sp?) meal for him, I think.

Thanks in advance for any input / advice. As every day gets closer we are getting more and more excited about our trip!

Happy planning on your upcoming trip...your children are a perfect age for Disney fun and you'll have a wonderful time!

I actually prefer the sitdown breakfast at Norway to a buffet dinner...mainly because I don't like to be hustling about to and from the buffet with crowds coming and going. We did this at the Crystal Palace and one of us (dh or I) missed some characters and pictures while we were managing all the plates. At Norway the plates are served to you there is no buffet so you can relax and enjoy the pastries then your meal and not miss a beat of the characters. Plus there is more interaction with the CM's at a plated restaurant and in Norway that is quite a treat...love their accents and sharing stories about their home v. ours.

Our extended family eats dinner at 1900 Park Fare every trip. (It IS 'Fare' as in "to be supplied with food"). We travel with 2 little girls AND 2 boys - who also Love it, thanks to the excellent food and atmosphere. The 6 adults also love it. The atmosphere at the Grand Floridian is exquisite - the Victorian architecture - the live music in the lobby - the cast members dressed in period costume. The food is a bit more elegant than at some of the other character meals, though admittedly I'm a major character meal fan. They had salmon during our trip last year that was simply 'to die for'. The boys went back to the prime rib carving station 3 times! There is typical 'kid fare' for the less adventurous children, so you don't have to worry about children not eating. Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the 2 mice were all in attendance. I must admit though, that we all liked the villains better - they used to do a villain character meal. They were much more fun. But I'm not much into Cinderella - never have been, not even as a child. (Yes, I know, blasphemy!) Even with that said, you must give Cindy's breakfast a try - it's a Great experience! Basically what you do is a few minutes before 7:00a.m. eastern time, you start calling the 407-wdw-dine number. You will either hear, thank you for calling wdw, our office is closed - or you will hear, thank you for calling wdw, pause, and then they are going to start giving you options. If you hear the greeting that says their closed, hang up and try again. If they don't say they are closed you immediately hit 1, then wait a couple of seconds and hit 1 again. You are bypassing the questions and other information that they may be asking you. It is just marketing and doesn't affect how they will answer your call. I got right through to a person by doing it this way, I wasn't even put on hold. Good luck!

Thanks.... and when I get thru (fingers crossed), how do I reserve for a 1yo who will not eat the breakfast, and a 4yo who will-- or we'll at least order her one. Do I say 2 ADT, 1 child, 1 highchair? (Silly question, but I just don't want to get into a conversation with the rep.)

ccgegg- Just as soon as you get someone on the phone blurt out cindy's breakfast and say for 4 up front and once she/he has blocked that table for you they then will ask how many kids and adults. The breakfast is preplated so you will get food for both kids. Under 3 is free, but 4-11 has a reduced price from the adults. However, in my experience they charge $10 per person deposit no mater the age and then they will add that amount to your meal total so in the end you will not be paying for the child under 3. But defintely just say table for 4 up front because at disney they consider children of any age needing a seat whether or not they are free to eat. Because if you have a high chair they need room for that. Hope this helps. Post any more ?'s you might have.

I and my kids, DS12, DD9, DS7 went to the storybook breakfast in Norway. We thought that the princesses were fantastic. They always addresed my DD with "Hello princess", and at the same time made cute jokes toward my boys, ie: "oh princess, are these 2 of your 7 dwarfs?" We all had a great time in that respect. However, we found the food to be BLAH! It was way overpriced and the tables were crowded together, so that it was difficult to take pictures without getting in another families way. I was definately paying for the princess experience.

Can anyone tell me, in regards to CRT breakfast, are you basically just paying for the character experence, or is their more to it.

We did CRT in '02 and found the breakfast to be pretty decent..... and plenty of it. It was warm, good variety, and tastier than the bowl of cereal or Pop-tarts I would normally eat. (What a testimonial, huh?) So yeah, it's mostly for the experience.

You are mostly paying to see the princesses and eat in the castle. However, the day we went the eggs, bacon and french toast were absolutely delicious!

Got my PS for CRT this morning..... first seating too! Had my home phone in one hand and cell in the other. Dear wife walks downstairs at 6:05 (our time) and asks if she can help. I just laughed and said it's all taken care of.

I read where someone posted on the Trip Reports board that they wouldn't let them in to the park early for a CRT ps, without a reservation card! Have any of you heard of this? I have a 1st seating in Dec. and I'm worried that we'll have to sprint through the park!
