Cindy's Breakfast advice & encouragement

Hi,
We are traveling with 13 people to WDW in August. My question is, how many people can I reserve a table for at once? I thought I read the tables will only accomodate 6. Is this true. I know that I won't be able to get reservations for all of us, but I don't want to ask for ressies for 8 people, only to waste valuable time while they tell me they can't accomodate that many. What do you all think? I am really feeling the pressure because we are traveling with 2 families who have never been to WDW, and this will most likely be their only trip! I want it to be special, and Cindy's would be just perfect!

Hi NiksMom

Two yrs. ago I called and booked for 7 people -4 adults, 3 children. When we were finally seated we were put at 2 tables of 4 right near each other. I complained that this would not do as I had my reservations so far in advance for my daughters Birthday, I had her grandparents w/us and we could not sit at the same table because "they don't accomadate more than4" and given the location of the tables they could not push them together. Not once prior to my being seated upstairs in the castle was I told that I would be given 2 seperate tables.

Finally I saw an empty 2 table for 2 and asked if we could push that over to accomadate our 7, as they were not going to be using thiat table. The manager agreed to this and the problem was solved. Granted I ahd to solve it myself--very frustrating. So, be clear that your group need to be near each other and you would like to push tables together or hwatever needs to be done.

I was able to get Cindy's this morning after my second day of trying. I just kept redialing (I don't have redial on the phone that I was using) and pushed 1 immediately when I realized it wasn't the "offices are closed" message (there is a difference in the voice, that's how I could tell). I think the CM picked up at 6:59. I'm so excited!!

We were just there a couple weeks ago and I thought I saw some tables holding 6, maybe even 8 people. Not sure if they could accomodate a party of 13 seated together, as that seems like it would require a lot of shifting around. I suggest calling the resv office sometime in the afternoon when it's not as busy and tell them your situation. They would know best.

Cinderella and I will be spending Mother's Day together! I tried again this morning and got through! I followed the instructions here started calling around 6:57 on 2 phones and got through around 6:58. I think one of the keys is to hit that "1" quickly. I did and they picked up almost immediately - I was in shock! She had told me 9am and it was stil 6:59. Maybe I was lucky b/c people had other plans for Mother's Day - who knows!

Many thanks to all of you who posted what worked and what didn't - I've read the posts over and over! Wouldn't have gotten in without them!

Thanks again!

That's terrific! I start calling tomorrow and am going to use all the tips I've read. This is my first time trying.

Any last suggestions? Where's the atomic clock at anyway?? I have one of those alarm clocks that is set by a radio signal. I was just going to use that.

Miss Park Avenue, the only advice I'd give you is to try a few times today so that you are familiar with the messages you get (we're open versus we're closed) and the tones. The tones are different between the two messages, that's how I knew to press 1 right away. Sending you pixie dust.

Thanks for the link to the atomic clock. I was happy to see that my eleven dollar clock from Wal-mart was just a second off from it! I highly recommend it if you can't be online while you call. It uses a satalite to keep the time.

I'm going to call and listen to the different opening messages so I can tell them apart tomorrow.

I'm so excited!! Thanks for the pixie dust!

Thanks to all your wonderful posted info I was able to book breakfast on the first try, on the first date I wanted it!!!

I called at 6:58 this morning & booked a table for May 12th, for 4, at 9:35 am!

This is the first morning we will be waking up at WDW, & my DD(4) will be so amazed.

Thanks again, I don't know what I would do without this board.

Congratulations! I am very appreciative of the advice as well. Last May, I tried for six days to get a ressie and no luck. This year, I got a ressie on the first try for May 3rd for 5 people. My question is if they spilt us into 2 tables, will we be seated next to each other? I am an avid scrapbooker with 3 dd's (ages: 6,4,and1). If we are seated apart, taking photos would be difficult. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Note, this is my first post. Hope I did it right.

I think they would have told you your party would not be at one table. We tried to make PS at California Grill and were told it would be at 2 tables. Call back and check for sure...they can tell you.

KRIS-
Table for 5 should not be a problem, especially w/ a one yr. old. I assume she will be in a high chair at the end of a table for 4. Can't hurt to call to confirm.

Have a great time. We went for the first time 2 yrs. ago for my dd's 3rd birthday. She still thinks she is a princess!! She told a boy who said a "bad" word-(stupid), "That is not the way to speak to a Princess".

Nezy
Thanks! We are very excited. I guess I need to call them to find out. A friend had told me that they don't allow high chairs at the end of a table for fear of tripping the princesses or characters.

Speaking of dd's, last year my 3 year old told a little boy on the monorail, "Don't pick your boogers. That's gross!!" From the mouth's of babes...

There are plenty of places they could seat 4 + a high chair at one table. Make sure they know one of your five is a high chair. I saw a good number of tables like this a few weeks ago.

Well, I tried this morning and didn't get through. Still got a few more days to try.

I have a question. If you get put on hold do you hang up and try again or stay on hold? I thought I read somewhere that if you get put into the queue it will be too late. But hanging up and trying again doesn't sound right either.

I promised myself I would not get worked up for this. I'll try hard but I have Chef Mickeys (which everyone in our family loved last year) if we don't get CRT.

Thanks.

I have called three times where I was put on hold but someone picked up within seconds. Two of the three times I got ps for 8:10 for a party of 8. Don't hang up if you are put on hold!

When I got through a few weeks ago, it was 6:58:03. I was put on hold for about 20 seconds before I got a ressie. I thought that I wouldn't get one, but did at 9:15. Don't hang up. I don't think all the reservationists pick up at the same time. Good luck!!!! Let us know what happens.:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

POFQ- May 2003 Can't wait!!!

Okie Dokie! I called and hung up then called and waited. I waited till 7:02 and hung up. I figured it was too late by then.

I will try again tomorrow!

OMG, don't hang up! You never know what could happen! I'd call now, just to see what the situation is. With the way things in the world are happening, you never know what could happen!

I got through on the first call, too, with tips from this board & other places, and got an 8:15 PS!:Pinkbounc
