So as a very very new first timer at planning our first trip, I just found out that Cinderella's Royal Table will be closed from January 2015 to "Spring" 2015. Kinda has taken the wind out of our sails as this was going to be the one of the Main highlights. Any suggestions/ideas on what we can do to ensure she sees many princesses. Please help :)

Oh my goodness......thank you so much! I was sitting here so bummed out. Like. I said, very new to Disney and had no idea.

If its dining in a castle that had you excited there is also Be Our Guest. It is quick service at lunch and a table service at dinner where you get to meet the Beast but unfortunately no princesses. Reservations can be a challenge to get though.

Akershus is the next best option. Also, dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian is also a great choice. She would get to meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Step Sisters, Lady Tremaine. It was a much better interaction than any of the other princess dinners.

We actually enjoyed our Akershus meal more than our Cinderella's Royal Table meal and they were pretty much the same princesses as well. We definitely loved that, I'm not sure if they do it anymore but we got a fast pass to eat lunch at Be Our Guest and that was great too. I don't know, maybe I was expecting too much of CRT but it was kind of a let down for me. I thought the wishing star ceremony was cute but in reality the restaurant was way too noisy to hear that OR the princess introductions. We got put in a booth that was connected to two other families and I feel like the princesses were rushing through anyways. For how much it costs I wouldn't do it again.

Thanks so much god the feedback. Planning for Disney is so overwhelming...still trying yo figure out where to stay. Lol

It is very overwhelming. I feel like I spent all my spare time between last September and when we left at the end of January planning! There are many options of where to stay depending on your budget and your family's preferences. I do highly recommend staying on-site if possible for your first trip, just really wonderful to be in the 'bubble' :) we loved Port Orleans Riverside for it's spread out feel and how beautiful and quiet it is. Some people dislike it for it's large size (lots of walking). I also appreciated the theming of that resort :) and the food court was excellent. We are considering a cabin at Fort Wilderness next time (I think it will still give me that 'not right on top of everyone' feel and it can fit our family of 6, plus it has a full kitchen!). Riverside does have Princess rooms that are pretty special (and horse drawn carriage rides down the river :) ) If you have a little boy Carribean Beach Resort has pirate rooms. If you can afford a deluxe your best bet would be staying to one closest to your favorite park (and possibly looking into renting a DVC room). I have heard Art of Animation is a favorite for staying value. There are lots of people here to help, I loved wdwprepschool when I was researching

Our daughter will be 5 when we go the last week of April. I've finally narrowed it down to the Art of Animation or a royal room at Port of Orleans, not a huge fan of all the walking. We totally wanna be Disney all the time for our first trip with no intentions of going off the resort. Once I get that figured out then it's dining and attractions I guess..lol...it's so much but people on here are so amazing and know so much. Been such a great help so far and it is so appreciated.

We loved Akershus, especially for breakfast. Once you are inside, it looks like a castle too. Less expensive as well. 1 dining plan credit instead of two if you are on the plan (unless that has changed).

We enjoyed the princess interaction there more too; but, we are big Belle fans.

We loved akershrus more than crystal royal table! We are trying 1900 park fare next week:)

So glad to hear. We are going to Akershus for the 1st time and I am really nervous. My dd loved CRT last year but I wanted to try something new.

We just did 1900 park fare last night and loved it!! Cinderella, Prince Charming, step sisters and step mother. Hilarious. Best buffet we have ever had.

We did princess breakfasts at both CRT and Akershus, and while the princesses were great at both, I preferred the princesses at Akershus. They seemed to spent a few extra moments at each table and it was quieter. The parade around the room was adorable (my Mr. Serious DS refused to participate). Didn't love the food at the Akershus, though. I would suggest checking the menu carefully before booking because if I remember correctly it was a mostly American breakfast but it has some odd stuff thrown in. That was one of only two meals my family didn't love. If they're bigger fans of Cinderella than Belle, check into the 1900 Park Fare meal. I hear really great things about the character interactions there but have never been.

I have stayed at both the RR at POR and the LM at AOA. The RR is much nicer IMO. I love the theming and grounds at AOA but the rooms are not inviting.
