Cinderella's Royal Table - Breakfast

So we have been to CRT two different times on two different trips and had two very different experiences. The first one made me very happy, the second, less so.

I am wondering if they have changed the way they do things and the second experience is just the way things are now, or if our second experience was a fluke?

So, the first time, we were definitely earlier in the morning. We were given a choice of what to eat, options being something like either scrambled eggs with bacon or some kind of french toast option. Both my DH and I chose the french toast option and it was really really good. We also got a plate of pastries to share as a table. I remember thinking I couldn't figure out why so many people complained about this place. It was our second favorite breakfast of the trip, only behind Kona Cafe.


The second trip we had a very late reservation. We were probably one of the last tables sat. We were not given a choice for a breakfast, they just brought us the plate with eggs and bacon and maybe sausage. I can't remember if there were any pastries, but for some reason I am thinking no. The food was just okay at best. The service was just okay and over all the experience was very underwhelming. If this had been our first experience, I would never consider returning.

My questions is, are you still supposed to get a choice of breakfast? Was our second experience because it was late in the day or is that the way things are done now?

You are brought a plate of pasteries and then you choose from the menu. DH had the crab and lobster crepes and I had the healthy choice which was egg whites, yogurt and granola. The healthy choice platter was very good and DH enjoyed the crepes. (This was in December).

We went in March 2013, which was our second trip after a first visit in June 2012. The structure of the meals was exactly the same for us: pastries, choice of breakfasts (although why anyone would pass up the french toast I have no idea), visits by all of the characters, etc. The cast member we had that day seemed a little less into it than the first one we had, but the experience overall was very similar.

I've always had choices as well so I'd assume it was the time that forced the lack of choices - what a bummer.

It kinda is a bummer, yeah. I mean, we paid just as much as anyone else there that day. That sucks.

Oh well, lesson learned.

We've always had choices too but we have also always gone in the 8 o'clock hour. I would also be really disappointed to have them just plop down some bacon and eggs - the only reason I eat there is to get the fabulous french toast
