Cinderella's castle

I'm trying to decide whether or not to try for an ADR for CRT. My kids LOVE looking at pics of the castle, seeing it show up before movies etc. For those with young children who haven't eaten in the castle, is just walking in/through it enough for the kids? Do you think they would be missing out on the whole experience by not eating there? Also, is it very obvious (to children)that there is a restaurant inside? I would LOVE to be in there, but I have two very picky eaters and I think I would do better for my money eating at CP (for example children aren't really Pooh fans). Thanks for any feedback.

Hi there, we ate at CRT this June on our 1st day at WDW!, we had breakfast and it was lovely , this was our 4th trip to WDW But our 1st trip to CRT, and all our family enjoyed it, I'm so glad that we did it cos for the last 3 trips I'd ummm'd and ahhhhh'd about it. Good luck with your decision

I would question going to eat here w/ picky eaters as the menu is limited. It is an expensive meal especially if your child doesn't touch his/her meal. You really are paying for the atmosphere at CRT. You are in the castle, on the second floor. I'm not even sure that you can get upstairs unless you have a reservation. You might try to locate some pictures of the interior by asking other DISers to post them; also might look up the menu. Then let your kids view the pictures and menu, get their feedback, and then make your decision. As the previous poster stated, it is geared to girls as there are lots of princesses and princes that wander by your table. Your son might enjoy the castle itself, but it's a fairly girly dining experience. I just wish WDW would do some sort of pirate feast somewhere that was geared to boys. Good luck w/ your planning. If you have a daughter who loves princesses and Cinderella, you have to do it at least once. We took our kids there and dragged the 2 boys for breakfast so my daughter could eat in the castle and wear her cinderella dress. We payed alot of money because the Canadian dollar was down at the time, but it was worth it for her. We all didn't really enjoy the food except the blueberry fritter things. It wasn't in my opinion worth the money, but remember your paying the price for the princesses not the food. After we went, while eating my daughter said she perferred chef mickeys. We have never been back since. But it is something you have to do at least once being a mom to a daughter who loves princesses.

Will it be enough just walking through - yes! Espescially if the kids don't know they are missing anything. Remember though, the outside is the thing to see - when you walk through you walk through a hallway onto the other side, nothing else to see really.
To dine IN the castle would be something special for them, so I would try for a breakfast ADR without mentioning it to them, and see what happens. DOesn't hurt to try right?

We did CRT for dinner and the food was nothing special, but the atmosphere was great. The girls loved having their picture taken with Cinderella. Like some others suggested breakfast may be a better way for you to go, if you decide to eat there. Breakfast food is lot easier to try to give a picky eater than dinner food.

We went to Disney last year for the first time, and believe it or not, I didn't even know there was a restaurant inside the castle Well, my DD and I (she was 4 at the time) walked through the castle and she is the one who spotted people going upstairs, I realised it was a restaurant when I saw the desk and went over to the CM's to see if they had any reservations free,, yes they did look at me as if I had come from another planet! My DD was heartbroken, she badly wanted to go inside of the castle, it was awful to see her poor little face. When I got back to the hotel, I called the dining line and they put me on standby for a cancellation and one came up on our last day we were so excited!
My DD absolutely loved it, she was almost in tears when we went into the castle and met cinderella. Its true the food is not all it should be, I had the prime rib I think and it was awful, I left most of the meal. BUT I did not go for the food, I went for my little girl and she loved it.
This time I made sure i got my ADR's 180 days out, we are doing both breakfast and dinner this time around.

Took DD 5 this spring and she is a veryyyyy difficult eater, she loved it. We went for breakfast which is a better meal for her and also you get into MK early. My DH and I have been to DWD too many times to count but this was our first time at CRT. Even DH thought it was well worth the money. I say go for it. Don't forget to keep calling if they do not have seating available on your first try.

Walking through the castle is only 1/2 the excitement! Eating in the castle with Cinderella in the room is amazing! i have 3 princesses and this will be the first time that we have gotten reservations at CRT and my girls are soo excited! Granted, thay have had dinner at both the GF and Norway with the princesses, but this will be all new for them. They are also doing the BBB an hour before they eat at the castle so it will be grand day for all of us!

We did the Princess breakfast in Oct 06 and it was a big waste of money. It was,don't know if it still is, a preset menu. You eat what they bring. I have a daughter who is a picky eater as well and she didn't eat. I would check the menu first.

With the price increase we no longer go there. My girls liked it the first time but can you believe the last time I booked it (before the price increase/prepay) my then 5 year old asked where we were eating in MK and when I finally told her, she actually cried. She is a very picky eater and doesn't like the food there.

If you have young ones who are picky eaters, I'd eat elsewhere and wait till they are a little older to eat there so they can really appreciate it.

CP is one of my girls favorite breakfast meals.
