After looking around the church with no pics we ventured over to the Duomo.

I then switched lenses and started zooming in.

It looks like we went inside now. I will say now we did NOT climb the dome and I do regret it.

Then I went to look at other areas.

Then we went back outside.

I took a photo of the others.

Then Vinny took one of us.

And then we were finishing our time at the Duomo. Don’t worry we do make more appearances at the Duomo but never inside again.

The details of the Duomo are just stunning. It really is a wonderful church. We didn't climb up either and I did regret that as well. But we did get our view of Florence elsewhere; so it was all good.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The attention to detail in the buildings and the sculptures are amazing. It's too bad that you couldn't take picture inside of the museum and church. I would have loved to have seen them.

Khertz I believe is writing one now for her adventures with Disney trip. She was 2 days before us. LOL

Day 5.3

After seeing the Duomo we went about walking around. Now I had one goal for today, soap. We have belonged to the NY Botanical Gardens for a few years but did not renew this year incase we sold our place, well they sell soap that I love. I looked it up and they make it in Italy about an hour outside of Florence but a little more research found they sell it in the area we were in. So my goal was to find COIN store. We were heading in that direction when I came upon this.

I went inside and looked around. The CM didn’t look happy with me taking pics but oh well.

The Force was strong in all the stores.

No clue why I took this from the side.

They had some Jack Skellington products.

That were all the photos I took. I ended up getting a keychain. Now we were off to find the store I was looking for.

Here come the horses. Okay one but still. LOL

I was wrong there were two.

Then we found the store. Vinny and I went inside while the others went into another store. This is basically a department store.

I took a quick photo of the display that is why it is blurry.

We both bought 4 each and the price was for every 2 there was equal to 1 here. We purchased them and then met up with everyone and walked on. We saw this.

Then this.

Now it was lunch time. Barbara had said she wanted to do a typical Italian lunch of meats, cheeses and wine. That is what we were going to do. We found a restaurant called “Ristorante La Posta” and we sat down and placed our order.
Here is the entrance door. We sat outside which was lovely to do on this day.

The food. I know we had Insalata Caprese, another kind of mozzarella dish which was really good. Also bruschetta, cheese plate and meats along with wine.

We loved this place. The cheeses were so fresh and the waitstaff were friendly. I linked their review on Tripadvisor but not so much love there but I disagree with some of them.

Then we finished up lunch and we continued our little walking tour.

After buying our soap and having lunch it was time to go see the Ponte Vecchio. We saw this guy while we walked, I thought I was at Disney. LOL.

Then we came to this market.

On the column of the market.

I believe the name of the market is “The Piazza del Mercato Nuovo”. It is full of leather products and this pig.

The ladies looked everywhere here. LOL. I took photos after looking around for 5 minutes.

Then we were walking to our destination again. Crowds in the area.

We were heading in the right direction so that is good.

Another horse passed us.

it was one HUGE jewelry market. I did see a nice watch but it was 600 euros so I said no.

I went up ahead as they looked in the stores.

I looked out off of the the bridge in one direction.

Saw them rowing along.

Then I went to the other side.

I loved that market. The leather was lovely there.
