My Dh is a teacher so we don't have any choice but to take our vacations during school breaks. We have been to WDW in July(ugh WAY TOO HOT) and are thinking about going over Christmas week 2005. We would be checking on Christmas (sunday) and leaving Saturday or Friday (30 or 31). How do Christmas crowds compare to summer crowds?

Also I got a quote for 6 nights at Pop Century with Dream Maker package for 2 adults 2 kids(12 & 8) for $2400, which was only about $200 more than 8/20/05-8/26/05. Does that seem right? I was thinking it would be much more expensive than that.

Thanks.....

The week between Christmas and New Year's is the #1 busiest week at the parks. Last year, there were 60-min waits for the boat ride in Mexico!

However, if I had my choice between summer and Christmas week, I'd still choose Christmas simply because the weather is better (cooler) and it's somehow not quite as bad to stand in line for 60 minutes when it's cool out. But if you don't mind the heat, then summer, while crowded, will be less packed than Christmas week.

Thyanks for your insight. I agree the heat in July was unbearable. The lines wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so HOT!! We left the parks by 1pm everyday to go back to the room to swim and then went back at night. Also, my kids were little then, my DS was not even a year old and my DD was 4. Now that they are older it might not be so bad....but pusihing those strollers in that heat...YUCK!!!

I actually thought about doing a Disney Cruise Christmas week but it was so much $$$$that I can't. I also think that since this isn't our first time at the parks (my 6th and the DH and kilds 3rd) it will be easier to just enjoy the ambience and wait for the rides we really want. Hows that for a plan??
