Here in Alabama, it is looking VERY cold this Christmas (at least by Alabama standards). Parts of the state may be below freezing for as many as 60-84 consecutive hours, including Christmas Day (which would be the longest such streak for Alabama in December since 1989). But, alas, it is looking dry on Christmas Day, so no White Christmas.

What does the weather look like in your area?

Cold. Not as cold as you, but we are rural enough that it will be below freezing at night for a few hours on three consecutive nights. I’m debating whether I need to cover some plants.

We also have a storm coming in Thursday evening into the holiday weekend. At this point could be a lot of rain or snow or a mix of both. Forecast constantly changing, as to type of precip.

This is ours too. Not sure if we should travel or not the 2 hours to my brothers.

My 2 kids were coming home for Christmas too at same time. It’s been a long time since that happened. Don’t want them driving the crazy Toronto highways if it snow/rains / freezes/ snows.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be in the 20s, with a wind chill around 10 degrees. It's going to rain a lot on Friday, so everything that's wet will freeze. No snow, though. We have our Christmas Eve get-together in our finished basement Christmas Eve, and we're worried about family driving to and from. We considered cancelling, but everyone said not to.

Here too. up to 10 inches of snow starting tomorrow, high of 3 on Saturday with windchills of -20 to -30.

we have snow on and off projected through saturday (we already have A LOT) but thursday we are on a wind-chill advisory w/ -35 being forecast (running last errands tomorrow/hunkering down for the foreseeable future).

Cold, in the mid 20's I think, cloudy maybe, but no snow. Wouldn't mind a white Christmas but cold is good.

:( I hope things turn around so your family can be together. We're in the middle of a brutal cold snap out here; -44C with the wind today and it's been snowing (a little) every day for a week. Still doesn't come close to the accumulations you guys in the East end up with though. We're also in line for a Chinook - a blessed event where warm winds blowing over the Rocky Mountains from the West raise the temperatures drastically in a short amount of time. It's forecast to be +5 on Christmas Day.

That’s cold we are hoovering at the 0 mark dropping at night to bring the snow . Said we may get 100 km winds thrown in so it is going to be a roller coaster ride. I’m hoping they have it wrong. That has happened before. Scare people for nothing…lol

Hope you get your +5 for Christmas Day.

Western NY here, south of Buffalo. We’re still in a storm watch, too far out for a warning. We’re expected to have rain Thursday & early Friday then rapidly dropping temps so turning to snow quickly. Blizzard conditions possible Friday into Saturday with snow & winds gusting to 60-70 MPH. Lake effect snow predicted to last into Sunday in the immediate city & suburbs, then dropping down to southern ski counties on Monday. No one has predicted snow totals yet, but it’s a little far out for that. Temps Saturday & Sunday highs in 20s, lows about 10°.

DS & DDIL will travel to her family early on Friday (about 90 minutes away on a good day.). Normally they leave there around noon on Christmas & head right to us. Already told them stay there if weather is bad. We’re planning Christmas Eve with DD & her BF’s family, just a few minutes from here, but even that looks iffy. DH & I are very flexible. We can “do Christmas” Monday or even NY Eve if we have to, NBD. I’d much rather everyone stay home & safe. Only question is, should I make the food or not?

That is my question too how much food should I prepare and when.

We are lucky that we can move Christmas dinner a day or 2 later. Just shortens the kids being home. I’m the type that worries when they are coming home on a good day…lol
