Christmas Shopping 2010

Sounds like everybody is at least getting some wishlists started!!:thumbsup2 I have a friend that may be getting herself a new Mac and said if she does, she will see how much it costs to get hers cleaned up and see how much hers is worth. If it isn't ridiculous, we may be getting that for ds14!!! I would love to get one for him! I need to go back thru this thread and get the link one of you put up for refurbed Macs...if we do this, I only have dd7 and Santa to purchase!! I know she is wanting Lanie for Christmas--and some AG clothes-I was going to wait until Oct to get that stuff.
What I need to work on, is my list for Tday, and Christmas baking.....I want to start freezing cookie dough a little at a time so I am not up all night and day baking cookies like year before last!! Several of us discussed cookie baking and it was so fun!! Feel free to start talking 'holiday baking'!! I even got a couple of great goodie recipes!! My question is this, for you avid planners!! How long can you freeze cookie dough---and do y'all just put it in Freezer ziplocks? I can't remember what was recommended last year...

Wanted to add that I got an email from TRU this morning offering LAYAWAY for certain products...so, if that is something that would interest/help some of you out, I wanted to pass it on....Happy Shopping!!

Thank You! My DS5 loves the regular Zhu ZHu game. I didn't know they were coming out with a new one. :cool1:

Yes, they have that one and also a "Wild Bunch" version that comes with a Hamster. I am planning on giving DD the WB version and the regular version.
I found mine on Overstock but they also have them at Amazon :wizard:

Glad to help!

I'm new here, but I wanted to join in! I absolutely love Christmas. Been talking about it since July, and driving my boyfriend crazy, haha.

I've become weirdly obsessed with Christmas tree ornaments. I guess it's because I'm hoping to move out in a few years, and want to have some of my own. I begged my boyfriend to buy me two ornaments from etsy, and he finally did. Haha they're so cute. One is a clay santa ornament. He has a clear ball as his tummy, and it has clay cookies in the tummy. The other is the same style, but is actually a mouse with cheese in his tummy. Haven't got them yet, but they look so adorable.

I don't have many people to buy for, but I'm in nursing school and on a limited budget so I start thinking/saving early! Will post more later. Love this thread! :)

I totally understand this. I didn't have any when I moved out and it was dramatic! My DH not only understands my Christmas madness, he feeds it. He gets me at least one ornament every year and has since we were dating. He bought me the german wedding ornament set one year. LOVE it!
I start shopping the day after Christmas, so you are not weird (not to me, anyway).

Time for me to jump on-board!!

My girls will be 4.5 and nearly 7(b-day 1/13) at Christmas. I've been shopping a little here and there all year, like so many of you. The stuff is hidden in a big rubbermaid bin in my closet that used to have clothes in it - they won't bother it at all!

What I can remember i've gotten so far:

DD6:
4-5 books
dress-up headset microphone
few LPS figures (target clearance in July)
DSlite - on e-bay, came with 20(?) games, extra stylus, carry case
Lanie AG doll - got today!! from my QVC order last week - came with accessory kit and extra outfit
Our Generation doll shoe set/shelf

DD4:
4-5 books
dress-up headset microphone
few LPS figures
Ni-Hao Kai Lan leapster game
Ni-Hao Kai Lan board game
Cinderella's castle playset - bought in Disney in August, shipped home
Lanie AG doll, same as her sister

I'm thinking the DS for my older daughter, I may hold until her birthday. Haven't really decided yet, I'll figure it out when all my shopping is done - compare piles to make sure they are similar.

Still need to buy:
-matching sheet sets for their beds - wierdos love to have matching things. My sister and I would have had a FIT if my mother bought us anything matching LOL!
-one more DS game and one more leapster game
-stocking stuffers - I always leave this until last minute
-Beauty and the Beast and TS3 on DVD
-gift for my new DDniece(6) - my sister just married her Dad, so this is my first year with her
-gifts for my parents - nothing big, they buy themselves anything they want

And my big Christmas scam? To "uphold the illusion" of Santa, since I'm a single Mom, I buy myself gifts from Santa too!! Love this tradition of mine lol. This year the very generous Santa is bringing me a DSlite also!! Got it on e-bay, and have played it a bunch already:rotfl: - only after bedtime so the kids don't see.

Happy shopping everyone!!

I actually started last Jan. for my neices and nephew's LOL. Sears always has a big sale on kid's toy's a few weeks after Christmas so I go and stock up on thier birhtday's and Christmas present's. My ds's birthday is also on Christams day and we have already boughten him his BIG gift the play structure from Costco, and a coulple smaller item's as well. And next year for his 6th birthday we are going to WDW. LOL I am a really early planner.

VTech Kidizoom Camera we bought this for our ds last year and he love's it. It has been dropped so many time's left outside and it still works. They have them at both Target and Meijer's, hope this helps:)

Julie

This is so funny - I started shopping last month for Christmas! We will be visiting WDW in mid-October so I wanted to get a head start.

DS 11:
NOT MUCH!!! *Sigh* He is so hard to buy for, hoping to work on him this weekend. So far, a Caligraphy set. Woo hoo! LOL

PS - do those of you with girls AND boys find it's easier to find gifts for your girls? I guess just because she likes what I liked as a little girl so anything I see that I go "Ooooh!" over I know she'll love LOL Dh has no ideas for boys, he says it's all changed too much! ;)

I hear ya ~ it's so easy to shop for DD ~ now that DS is getting older his wants are getting little and expensive when he was little I thought boy toys were ugly and mean *except for Legos ~ but dang they're expensive and hurt when stepped on :scared1:

Yesterday I had some free time so I went to TRU to take a look around and get and idea of some things I may want to get my DD for Christmas.
I also picked up the Barbie Fashion Fairty Tale Doll, the Ken that goes with it and the Carriage that goes with it as they were all 25% off..

They had a sale on ZU ZU pets, buy one get one 50% off....

I saw a couple of things that she has asked for and wondered if anyone had any experience with them..
one was the magic fabric sticker maker, the other was the DQ Blizzard Maker or the Cold Stone Ice Cream Maker.

I also wanted to know if anyone had heard of Journey Dolls?? They looked so cute as well as the exclusive for TRU Disney Princess and Me Dolls.

I was also excited to see that they had a new Baby Alive out that "eats" the food but does not have that gross output!

Well I went to kohls last night and got alot of my shopping done since my mom got the 30% coupon in the mail. I was going to get the girls my little pony mermaid poneyville stuff (now my parents are getting them that). But saw these Sleepy Hollow sets from fisher price and my girls will love these. They were only 15.00 for the bigger houses and all the assecories were under 8.00. My girls would much rather have this type of stuff. Plus they are really good about putting there toys away in there bins. I never lose pieces because my girls know that every thing has it's individual bin or carring case.

So this is my new list

DD 5
ZAMBI
Lps Triplets
Fur Real Frenzie carrier my mom bought them the rest of the pieces
Fur Real Frenzie spotted dog
Jessie doll from Kohls sale
Sleepy hollow house and all the assecories this could be Christmas in it self it was only 60.00 for all 9 pieces

DD 2

Zambi
LPS Triplets
Frenzie Carrier
Frenzie dog
Jessie doll
Sleepy Hollow stuff

Still need to get
LPS rescue Center x2
LPS doll and figure X 2
Another pack of LPS triplets
Each a leapster game
Still need to get more craft stuff ,books and puzzles. The love this stuff and it keeps them busy.

What are these sets? I can't find any info online.....

Hi everyone! I am new here & just checking to get some Christmas ideas for DD4 and DS6 for this year. I just sold a ton of their old stuff on ebay & craigslist, so now I am ready to shop:thumbsup2

I was looking on Kohls & saw the HIDEAWAY HOLLOW toys. I think that might be what the pp was referring to. They do look really cute, so I am thinking of ordering some while they have the 30% off and Kohls cash.

I was also thinking about a Nintendo DS and a Leapster.

My DD saw some Polly Pockets at Target that she fell in love with! But she pretty much falls in love with anything "cute" or girly.

My DS rarely asks for anything at all & mostly just wants to draw.

Yes sorry it is a kohls toy only. If you go to there sight and type in hideaway hollow they will come up. My DH was impressed with this also. For 100.00 I got everything plus most of that was x2. I got older dd the pink house and younger dd the green one plus each the house addtion. All the extra's like the car and extra figures I bought 2 of. So really 50.00 for each of the girls and there is around 8 items each. I typed the wrong info in my PP post. I have disney on the brain can you tell. LOL Plus I earned 30.00 in kohls cash but I gave it to my mom since we will be in Disney when it is time to redeme them.

That does sound like a great deal! I am trying to decide whether to pull the trigger & just order them online! I think that my DD would like these & they are much cheaper than the Calico Critters that she was eyeing up at one store:lmao:

Did one of the houses look "cuter" than the other? I am thinking that we don't really need both, although the price does make it tempting:)

I am looking for a good sale on Calico Critters that I seen at Toys R Us. My DD5 will love these - they are so cute. I am hoping to catch a good sale like BOGO if possible. Keep me posted if you see a good sale fellow Dissers!

Thanks,
Gina

We love the calico critters too- last christmas i got some sets on and a house on ebay, they were used so I just set the house up for christmas morning- if you look for them there they go y other names too- ex- sylvanina families
