We are going down over Christmas so my oldest who just moved to Orlando and has to work Christmas Eve won't be alone. My youngest wants to stay at a resort that will be the most "Christmasie" feeling. I would love suggestions. I know the Grand Floridian seems to have some of the nicest decorations but I am not sure about the others. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.
thank you.

I have to say that they all do a fantastic job of decorating. The Wilderness
Lodge Lobby is a real stand-out in my opinion.:thumbsup2

Traditionally, we stay in the VWL. We love this resort at Xmas time. However, we are considering staying at AKL in order to do something different this year. All of the deluxes have fantastic holiday decorations and activities for the kids.

We have not stayed at the moderates at Xmas time, but we did visit POFQ just to check out the decorations 2 Xmas' ago. If a deluxe were out of the question (and with the changes to reservations rumored, this could happen), I would love to stay here in December.

The only resorts that don't impress me at Xmas are the values. We usually spend the first day of our Xmas week trip at a value before moving to VWL. While there is a tree in the lobby, a wreath or two, Xmas cookies on Xmas Eve and Day, and a Santa visit on Xmas Eve, the values just don't have that holiday feeling to me.

For "traditional" X-mas, I don't think you can beat the WL. Very homey and warm feeling....

I agree with the WL. We stayed there this past Dec. for a pre Christmas trip and loved the decorations. They also had lots of choirs at various times singing and playing handbells in the lobby. We visited the monorail resorts to see the other decorations, but loved the WL for staying during Christmastime.

I'm really curious about this answer as well. We are planning a 08 week before Christmas trip. I fell in love with WL when we were there the beginning of this month, so that's where I'm hoping to stay. But we need a Mod backup just in case the Deluxe ends up out of our reach.

I would definitely go with wilderness lodge if i could, but for a mod. backup I would definitely go with POR or POFQ they both have a very nice Christmas feel to it and the decorations are pretty also.:goodvibes

I'd go with either 1/2 of the POR resorts as a mod backup...very pretty.

CBR just doesn't lend itself well, IMHO, to the xmas "theme".

CSR is done up very pretty, I have to say...I just prefer the more "southern traditional" style of POR's decorations.

Another vote for Wilderness Lodge.

I vote for the Wilderness Lodge. While the Grand Floridian looks great during the holidays, you can't beat the decorations of the Lodge. :)

You might better make a decision quickly. The WL is probably booked for Christmas already.

Another vote for WL!

I've seen all of them decorated for the holidays (with the exception of AKL and the values) and none hold a candle to the warmth and beauty of the WL.

I can't wait to go back December 2008! As much as we loved the feel of The Polynesian, we're seriously considering going back to the WL just because of its holiday atmosphere. :)

Wilderness Lodge ranks as #1 in my book, and I agree with G'smom- you'll be lucky if you can get it at this time! This resort is absolutely breathtaking at Christmas!

What's my #2 most preferred resort? That would be the Grand Floridian- stunning!
