Christmas Reservation Question

We are going to Disney at Christmas for the second year in a row. We are DVC members and this will be our first year using our points and annual passes. That is where the issue starts.

Our first day of our annual passes last year was the 21st, so our passes expire on the 20th. This year we get there on the 21st again. The issue is that I can’t make park reservations, even with the DVC reservation, since I don’t have tickets until we renew, which can’t be done until October. So rather that being able to make those reservations now, I am stuck waiting.

Anyone have experience with this? Are we going to be out of luck booking Christmas and New Years 2 months in advance? I’m hoping someone with experience can help me out.

The same thing happened to us (not DVC, but AP) last year. We were able to pull it off at 60 days by staying flexible with which park on which day. I'd have a Plan A and a Plan B (maybe even a "C") ready to go so that you can get at least most of your desired parks. I do hope this works out for you and that you're pleasantly surprised.

Can you buy tickets now then apply the cost of those to the APs when it’s time to renew?
Then you can make park reservations now. It’s quite an expense but might be worth it.

We had this issue recently - AP expired 6/30 and we planned a July 4 weekend trip. We were able to pay IN FULL (installments weren't an option to do this) for the renewal in April and use the info/code from that to make reservations, but then had to pick up the physical pass card during the month of June. Call Disney ticket sales office to see if they will do this for you.
