1) What are Holiday Kitchens at Epcot? Is it like booths set up with different holiday themed food options? And
2) is the Christmas tree stroll at Disney springs amazing? Is it best at night?
Normally go different times of year, but friend and I decided to take a quick jaunt down to do MVMCP on November 26 followed by Epcot on the 27 th. I’m assuming all this will be in full swing by then. Currently have POR booked but am thinking maybe of upgrading on my dis+ discount to getting EMH if Epcot is cool then

We go to Disney the first week of December most years.

1. The holiday kitchens are similar to any of the festivals except the booths serve holiday food from those countries. They also do a cookie stroll, where you buy certain holiday cookies and if you try X amount you get a free cookie. The various countries also have performers talking about their traditional holiday in their country which we also enjoy.

2. We did the tree trail once. It was crowded and just ok to me. If you are there worth doing but I wouldn’t go to DS just for it.

I would suggest you check out the deluxe hotels. GF will have the gingerbread house. Beach has the gingerbread carousel, boardwalk has a gingerbread house of the boardwalk. Contemporary has a display and the others are beautifully decorated.

One year we did a tour that shows how the decorate the parks and included the candlelight procession. I’m not sure if they still offer it but we really enjoyed it and I’d recommend it.

Happy to answer questions.

A few gingerbread photos.

Thanks this all sounds amazing and am looking forward now to cookie stroll! Sweet tooth. Your post was extremely informative and I appreciate your quick reply. We do have a little time to sneak in resort decorations and had a couple in mind but didn’t realize a couple you listed.

I hope you have a wonderful trip. It’s my favorite time of the year to go to Disney. If you can only make it to a few resorts, I think GF and Beach are the best ginger displays. GF house is so big several people work inside of it. My mind was blown the first time I saw it. The carousel at the beach club actually moves and it quite impressive.

If you enjoy living with the land they decorate it for the holidays. Go at night for an extra glowing treat!

The EPCOPT Holiday Storytellers are a must see for us. With your limited time I recommend La Befana: Italy and Père Noël: France. We normally spend a full day see them all with lunch and snack breaks along the way.

The boat ride from Disney Springs to French Quarter for beignets is a wonder nightcap after dinner at Disney Springs.

We spend a couple of days looking at the Christmas decorations at the hotels. Grand Floridian is very crowded on weekends.

The DS Xmas tree trail is spread out now throughout. It used to be in one tiny area. It’s more like Xmas decorations than a special thing to see. The trees are lit up, so the lights are better at night. However, the decorations are easier to see during the day, the trees are themed and crammed with park themed decorations.

I can’t remember what the storyteller hours are. I don’t think they do their thing at night. The booths are open until park close. Some don’t open until 11am.

Contemporary has a gingerbread decoration and treats too. The tree at Wilderness Lodge is supposed to be beautiful. However, I can’t guarantee that either of these will be up when you are there. Contemporary has been before at thanksgiving, but Wilderness Lodge hasn’t been up for us then.

Full Christmas start date is almost always Black Friday. 3 of my last 4 trips have been Black Friday arrival. Never seen the decorations not complete at any of the resorts or parks that weekend.

Thanks yes we will be at Epcot allday and will see the storytellers. I’ve been to Epcot many times, but never at Christmas, so this trip is more just taking that in then rides etc, and will be back next year at non Christmas time per usual.
I’ve had the beignets before and agree the boat ride to Springs is nice. POR has been a favorite moderate of mine and have stayed a few times and always walk down to the French quarter when there.

Thanks exactly what I needed for info on the tree thing. Looking forward to checking out the storytellers. There is EMH at Epcot the night I go and was considering an upgrade to deluxe but I’m guessing it’s just going to be rides at that point so I’ll probably just stick with the moderate this time.

I don’t think the Storytellers will be active then. Not sure about the booths. Are they doing F&W booths during EMH?

The food booths are not open during the EMH. You can’t even walk through all of WS during EMH, it’s roped off.

Yeah I’m going the weekend after F &W so it won’t be there anyway.

No Food and Wine, but there is only 5 days of Diet Epcot before the International Festival of the Holidays starts on the 24th. Epcot will have the Holiday Kitchens instead of the Festival Booths.
