We are planning a trip the week after Thanksgiving. Since we did the Disney and Universal parks the same week last year we are looking to do something different. We are spending 3 days at Legoland, 1 day at Seaworld, maybe Gaylord Palms and Give kids the world if that has the Christmas activities.

We are staying at BLT (dvc members) so I can’t skip going to MK completely. We have been multiple times during the day so kids have seen it before. Should we try the Christmas party this year (assuming its back) or just get a day ticket. Kids are 5 and 7, they have not been to a party before.

Which would you pick? We probably wont be back this time of year for a long time so trying to squeeze in as much Christmas as possible.

If you we’re planning to buy a one day ticket to the MK anyway, I’d probably go with the Christmas party instead..

I guess it depends on pricing though. If the cost of the Christmas party tickets are through the roof in comparison to a one day ticket, I’d go with the day ticket.

how much do you care about seeing the MK at night? I vastly prefer it, so will pony up for the single party tic, as there's little opportunity these days to be at MK past 8 or 9 unless you spend big bucks on deluxe accommodations. Plus, that early in the season, you'll have some holiday entertainment that is usually party-only like the parade (I think they open that up to everyone the last 2 weeks of dec.)

Make sure to do a day or 2 at Epcot for the storytellers and Candlelight Processional. Definitely would recommend the party or after hours event whichever it is they have this year and a day at MK if you can squeeze it in.

If you're into entertainment, parades and shows and seeing a lot of the characters, the snow on main street, snacks for the party only, it could be fun and worthwhile. If you don't think it's something they'd enjoy and you'd rather just focus on rides, maybe skip it since if it does come back, it will likely be a lot of $$ compared to a one day ticket. The Halloween party used to be $75-$125 depending on party day, and now it's like $110-$200, so I'm going to guess if MVMCP comes back, that the week after thanksgiving will be pricy and around $150/pp. We've done the parties before and while we enjoy the unique snacks and some of the entertainment, we actually enjoy the low ride wait times more. Also, the party runs pretty late so make sure you're ok with your kids staying up late and what you might have planned the next day.

We are debating on doing the same thing. If it’s like the Halloween party we will be able get into the park at 4:00. That will plenty of time to enjoy the park along with the party. From looking at one of the Halloween party’s hours the hours are from 4:00 to 12:00am. With the park closing at 6:00.
