My DW tells me that there is a Disney Christmas Parade televised every year with celebs such as the Cheetah Girls, AJ and Ally, etc. In which park is this filmed and when is it being filmed this year? Who are the celebs this year? Any info would be appreciated.

I'm going to say that it's probably going to be filmed on Dec 1. The parade is usually taped the first Sat in Dec. I was able to be there for the Friday taping in the morning. But it wasn't a just show up thing...we had to apply for it before we headed down, and then depending on how many people they wanted/or could get, they would tell you what time to be there. I was at the tapings in front of the Castle. The parade taping spots go very fast....And you have to have the correct paperwork in hand before they will allow you in to sit curbside. Even those who enter the park as usual will find that they are directed through the shops, rather than down Main St.
Keep checking the boards. In the past it was AP holders that were given advance notice of the filming..you had to access it through the AP site, but I think that after a certain date anyone could go to a site and see if they could get in on the action.

Now, that being said....the parade taping is actually pretty boring. They do not run the parade as they normally would. They run a section, then stop and go back and do it again...this can take quite awhile. I've heard of them taking 30 mins to run one float through before they get the right shot. So, being there for the entire parade filming can take a looooong time. I know that standing in front of the Castle for 3 hrs almost killed my old back and knees!! Won't be doing that again any time soon.

They also tape the parade several days in a row, and thencut and splice pieces together. My DD was in the Easter parade 3 years in a row, although she only attended the first Easter parade. I cannot tell you how many people in our town called on Easter morning to tell me that they had seen my DD in florida at the parade, when she was standing right in front of me at home!:rolleyes1

To the best of my knowledge the actual parade is only taped on Sat, unless the weather is really bad. They do the 'acts' taping on Friday, Sat afternoon, and some on Sunday. I suppose that can change but that's what happened when I was there. And it could be different for different parades.

There are some taped shows that only the CMs attend before the park opens to the public. Lone Star was taped in front of a CM audience and not the general public. Some things are taped in the fall much earlier than the actualy December taping. Sometimes you see stages set with Christmas decorations on them at other parks where there has been taping after hours. Alot of the parade taping actually occurs over several days, usually Thurs through Sunday. Some of the audience are the general public (by invitation only) and other times the audiences are CMs only (by signing up).
