Hello!

So the honeymoon planning has started, and I would like some feedback, as we are getting married in September of 2012 we are going to have our honeymoon in WDW. We are torn as to what would be more fun, Halloween and Mickey’s not so scary Halloween Party or Christmas and Mickey’s very merry Christmas party.

Any feedback on people who have done both? What one did you like better? Both my fiancée and I love both holidays and what one we don’t hit this time around we will be hitting next time with the kids (currently 4 and 6)

Thank you for all your information!

Personally, I like MNSSHP better because I like to dress up, go trick or treating at MK, see the "boo to you" parade and shows and do all the rides at night(especially the haunted mansion, really sets the mood:thumbsup2). It kindve brings the kid out in me:yay: Its also really cool to see the characters all dressed up in halloween costumes. MK is filled with special lighting and music that really brings the whole Halloween theme to life. I think this would be the one you would want to bring your kids to because they would really enjoy all the fun stuff to do.

But MVMCP is still really awesome and I think would be better for a honeymoon.. imagine Christmas in the Park, only the park is really really big!:goodvibes.. its fun to go see all the parks and resorts. the Osbourne Festival of Lights is really a site to see. also, theres Holiday Wishes, a parade with Santa Claus, cookis and hot cocoa, and the castle is decked out like a giant icicle. The weather is nicer over Christmas time too.. not as humid as it can be in October. The Christmas Party as a whole probably sets the "romantic" mood much more than the Halloween party.

Hope this helps:)

If you've never been to Disney before you can't beat the decorations at Christmas time (but avoid the parade taping days at the start of Dec or you may not see the big tree or garland draped across main st at the MK)

But if you've been and are looking for a totally new experience, between the two, Halloween is really something special. I have been unable to go with the kids and their school schedules but we did catch them putting up the decorations all over the MK one year as we were there for Labor Day. I still have fantastic images of pumpkins and decorations on the train station all the way up main street. Even the ice cream shop had special ones over it's door. Someday we'll go..

Halloween!

I love Disney over Christmas, don't get me wrong, but you could go one week and have 50 degree weather and go the next week and it will be in the 70s. Also, going over the actual date/week of Christmas...bad idea. Way too crowded. Over Halloween you are pretty much guaranteed at least 70 degrees. Also, I would do MNSSHP but NOT on Halloween night. They are just as fun any other night. For Halloween--still dress up but go to another park! My pick would be EPCOT. In 2008 my boyfriend and two other friends of ours and I dressed up and spent Halloween enjoying the food and wine festival at EPCOT. It was tons of adult fun :)

Been to WDW several times around or during Halloween and it's easily my favorite time to visit. Usually great weather, the crowds aren't too bad, and the decorations are great.

BUT, my fav reason to visit late Oct is that the Epcot Food & Wine Fest is going on. If you're going without the kids, I'd go for Halloween so that you can enjoy some adult time at the F&W fest.

Although Christmas time is wonderful and the Osbourne light show is spectacular and the decorations are nice Halloween took the cake for me. MNSSHP is definitely better then the MVMCP. Both parades are great but seeing the characters dressed up for Halloween was unforgettable. There are giant pumpkins all over the park and you just have to dress up. When my family went for Halloween 11 of us went and we dressed up as all the characters from Snow White. It is so fun being dressed up in the park, but do not plan on heavy clothing because it is warmer then some expect! We had way to much clothing and got hot fast so plan costumes appropriately. I also think that the whole spooky mood of disney is just wonderful!!! Both times are truely magical but if I had to choose 1 Halloween hands down! Magical Wishes :wizard:

MNSSHP could very well trump the MVMCP. The Osbourne Lights, and Epcot after Thanksgiving are very nice attractions. But Halloween Party during or after the 2nd week of October is awesome (3 times and looking for a 4th). Have the CD of Hallowishes and Boo to You Parade and play it in the car year round, that must mean something

You guys are the best! I was leaning more to Halloween as well!

It isn't our first trip and won't be the last so crowds are not that big of a deal if we miss a few rides!

I've been to both, but I absolutely love Disney at Christmas time! It's gorgeous, and tons to do besides MVMCP. You can see the Candlelight Processional in Epcot and visit the different countries and see the different presenters who represent how people in that country celebrates the holidays.

DH and I were staring at this very conundrum not too long ago. We've visited at Christmas time and around Halloween and we love both. We didn't know which to do for this next trip (very likely our last without kids). Eventually some friends of ours convinced us to go for the F&W Festival because it would be harder to do with kids than would visiting at Christmas time. So, I guess my suggestion would be, if you and your hubby to be are looking to get with the conceiving right away, do the F&W now while you still can. Otherwise, I'd say that Christmas is absolutely magical.:thumbsup2

Go at Halloween, hit MNSSHP, wear your wedding garb and get some AWESOME pics in front of the castle and at Cinderella's carriage. Seriously.
