Does each person open a gift - one person at a time - so everyone can watch - or - do you enjoy the frenzied free-for-all with everyone unwrapping at once?

We do the one-person-at-a-time system here.. Takes a lot longer, but we also take lots of photos - especially when we know someone is about to open something very "special"..:santa:

Since we don't wrap present we really don't have that problem lol

I always say we are going to do the one person at a time method and I always get vetoed.

But, I am usually the one that hands out gifts so that gives me the ability to slow things down and lets us see everyone enjoy opening their gift.

I guess its a bit of a mixed method. Not a free for all, but not completely one at a time.

Everything here is wrapped- I don't see the enjoyment of just walking in the room seeing everything there and thats it..We usually do it so my daughter opens 2, then each of us open one, she opens 2 -we open one....then we open the stockings which are all wrapped too!

one at a time in a circle, it's a lot more fun, and it takes longer which is nice when you do it that way.

For Santa gifts its pretty much a frenzied free for all. My dd is lightening fast so she's usually done before my boys are halfway through. Me and dh sit on the couch half asleep taking it all in, I wouldn't have it any other way :)
When it comes time to open the gifts from eachother, everyone goes one at a time.

My girls do the one gift at a time...I never told them to do that, but they always have ever since they were little. :confused3 I think they just like to see what the other one is getting...

We open gifts on Christmas Eve. Only morning presents are from Santa. And we do like to do the one at a time deal.

We try for a one-at-a-time thing, but it's impossible! And my brothers (grown men)
have a thing where they wad up their wrapping paper and fire it at each other. The only "safety zone" is around Mom (age 92). Of course, the next generation of men have joined in! All in good fun though.

This is our tradition as well. It is so nice to open gifts from family and friends on Christmas Eve, then Santa for the children on Christmas morning.

One at a time and we alternate by age, youngest to oldest one year, oldest to youngest the next. The kids remember, I don't :lmao:.

One at a time so we get pics lol...otherwise it would be CHAOS!! I like gifts wrapped so I can catch that special look they get on their face when they get something they REALLY wanted lol.

i'm an only child, so as far back as i could remember on christmas morning i would crawl under the tree and hand out everyone's presents. everyone would get their pile of presents, and wait till they were all handed out. then we would all start opening at once, thanking as we went through the presents. we also did a "big" family present, that we alternated between each other every year (sometimes i would get it, sometimes my mom, etc) and that was saved till last.

We have always opened one at a time. We like to see the excitement on the kids' faces and also like to take pictures.

We open one at a time. I hate it! I think I've lost the Christmas spirit. I just want to get it over with!

We have a free-for-all. We've tried one at a time but it just doesn't work because people get impatient, someone always takes forever to open their gifts and/or the kids usually get a higher quantity of gifts.
