Hello and welcome to my 2nd trip report!
If you would like to read my first, the link is in my signature. We just returned from a 5 night stay on Friday and woke up Saturday morning to snow, so it was definitely a big change.
Going on this trip was me, Jamie and my DH Kyle.
This was our 5th Disney trip together and we hope to have many more to come. This trip came about because one day Kyle e-mailed me while at work and said "I have to use up a weeks vacation otherwise I lose it." So me, always wanting to go to Disney World said, "how about Disney" to which he replied, "I knew you were going to say that." And the rest was history
I had heard that free dining was being offered so we both took off a week of work that would land within that promotion. We had always in the past booked trips through Expedia, so I was little nervous about the price difference of booking directly through Disney. We first looked at booking a moderate, but settled on a value to save some money.
We booked:
and requested a perferred room.
When: Sunday November 13 - Friday November 18
We got free quick service dining but upgraded to the Basic Dinning Plan. We had a 5 day park pass, but no park hopper on this trip.
We booked a non-stop Delta flight both ways.
I think that is a good amount of background information, so now on to the report!
Saturday November 12:
My brother Heath came over around 1 PM to stay at our house for the week and to watch our cat Moto.
I had planned to do some packing that morning, but never got around to it. I can be such a procastinator.
The 3 of us were headed to Chuck E Cheese at 2:30 for my nephew's 7th birthday party. The party was fun, but oh my goodness, if we are blessed to have children one day, we will never had a party there. It was majorly over crowded and just too loud. I was constantly worried about losing one of the kids. When the party was over we went back home to pack. Kyle and I got into a minor argument over packing, but it was quickly over and we were finished. We like to pack as light as possible to we had one suitcase and one carry on. I also made Mousekeeping envelopes for this trip.
I made dinner for the 3 of us and just hungout for a couple of hours. At 9:30 we went to bed, or atleast tried. I did not fall asleep until aroun 12:30 and the alarm went over at 3:15.
We got ready and were out the door by 3:59 AM.
We drove to my work and took a cab from there. We were at the airport at about 4:45 AM. We really need make ourseleves go later in the morning as our flight was scheduled to leave until 7:15. We got some McDonalds for breakfast and watched CNN while we waited for our flight. The flight itself was uneventful and we landed in Orlando about 25 minutes early. It was about 11 AM when we started to de-board the plane. We made a quick restroom stop, hoped on the mini monorail and headed toward ME. When we got off of the escaltor I was suprised to see a huge line of people waiting. Kyle started to walk toward the ME desk when I had to stop him, this huge line of people were carrying their ME boarding passes. We actually had to walk in the opposite direction and get in a massive line. When we reached the line to wait for the bus there was a commotion at the front of the line. An elderly woman had fainted and was being assisted by CMs. Within a few minuted paramedics were there to assist her. It was a lot of standing around and it was very warm in line, I was suprised more people had not fainted. Even though we reached the ME line by 11:15, we did not get to POP until 1:40!
I had done the Online check-in a couple nights before and it was a good thing as the check-in line was huge! We had about 4 people ahead of us in line at the Online check-in counter. A woman infront of us said she tried to check-in about a half hour before but the system was down and she was not able to. When it was our turn to check-in the CM Jessica said the system had been down and no one was able to check-in or get into the parks at that time. This is why we had waited so long at ME! Crazy. We were told our room was ready and we would be in the 60's building second floor. Our room was 4261. Our room was across from the kiddie pool on an end. I was a little disapointed to see that we were given two double beds instead of the king that I had requested, oh well.
We did the bed bug check and were in the clear. We didn't have time to relax as we had to get to DHS for our ADR!
