I hear that you can see the "Christmas Spirit" (lights and decorations) at WDW at least a month before Christmas. When do they start the decorations on the Cruise line? We are thinking of heading to WDW and taking a crusie next Christmas and I would love to see the ship done up for the Holidays.

Thanks,

I'm curious about the decorations too. We are planning to go 12/6/03 and would love to know what they do for the holidays. Any special thing? Do they do anything to the cabins?

We were on the Magic on the 7-day Eastern cruise last 11/24 - 12/1. They put the Christmas tree up during that week and on one of the evenings, had a tree-lighting ceremony and sing-along Christmas carols. The characters (especially Mickey & Minnie) were there to add to the festivities. It was wonderful! Then, as the week went on, more and more decorations were added throughout the ship. One was a Gingerbread House they built from scratch. You could watch it being slowly built and decorated with real gingerbread as the week went on. Beautiful! Don't miss this magical time of year on the ship!

I think the decorations were one of my favorite parts of the Thanksgiving 2000 cruise! They were already up when we went, but were just beautiful. All of the characters were dressed in their Christmasy best too!:sunny:

You'll love going once the decorations are up.....at least you will if you like lots of pretty Christmas decorations. :)

I'm sorry to be redundant, but I'd like to clarify...there were Christmas decorations on the Thanksgiving cruise??? We are going Nov. 23-30 this year, and if the decorations are up, I'll be sure to wait to take our family holiday pix on the ship. WOW!

Yep! We sailed on Sunday after Thanksgiving on the Wonder (4-day) and the decorations were indeed up. I remember reading something at the time, printed by DCL, that said they put up Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving. I remember looking forward to the decorations being done, and they were. :D

Having said that, remember this was 2 years ago, so perhaps things have changed, but I doubt it.
