We are looking for restaurant recommendations....

Do they do any kind of separate Christmas menus or will it be the regular menu? :confused3

Also, even ringing on the 180 day mark, what are my chances of getting booked into one?

Any advice would definitely be welcome!! :thumbsup2

Thanks all x :goodvibes

from experience - you will need to book- disney gets really busy over xmas period- we were not into the 'food thing' when we were there for xmas lunch we decided to share 3 bags of cheesy wotsits (the mega big bags) whilst watching a 'very beastmaster xmas' on t.v. - we loved it- but not everyone's choice!

Are you staying onsite? You're almost certainly going to need some of those +10 days if you want to dine in MK though bear in mind having an ADR doesn't guarantee you park entry, even if you've already stumped up the $$ for Cindy's etc - and MK does quite often reach capacity.

That said, personally I'm not sure I'd want to be in a MK that's heaving so much they have to close the park ;)

When I was there for xmas day we avoided the parks completely and had a lovely lazy breakfast at Spoodles (now Kouzzina) and then ate at Capy May Cafe for dinner. It's all the normal buffet items but they do have extras especially for Christmas so you can still get your Turkey fix if you want. Was quite a nice buzzy atmosphere and our server just loved it when we pulled out a box of crackers and had them as table settings! A terribly english thing to do but still great fun with our little party sitting in our paper hats LOL.

Another thing to note is that being peak season they normally add an extra few $$ to the price to the menu. Can't remember if they do it for ala carte but they deffo do it for the buffets.

When we went we found that there were really not many festive traditional turkey menus like us UK folk would think of. I think the Americans think of turkey with Thanksgiving. We were luckily staying in a 2 bedroomed villa at the Beach Club Villas so had a full kitchen. We went to an off site supermarket to buy the ingredients for our Christmas dinner and my friend and I went for massages and teatments at the spa at Saratoga Springs whilst our husbands prepared the Christmas dinner which we then ate out on the balcony!! We did enjoy our Christmas eve meal though at the California Grill. Watching 11pm wishes from the viewing gallery, then watching Spectromagic in the MK on the stroke of midnight on Christmas eve was quite magical.
We booked all our meals for the 2 week Christmas/New Year period at 180 days and got everything we wanted. Have a fab trip. We loved our Christmas trip and with good planning we had a great time (and actually didn't see that bigger crowds). We actually plan to be back for christmas 2011.

We went for Christmas and New Year just gone and managed to get everything we wanted at 90 days so you should have no problem at 180.

On Christmas Day we had lunch at Tony's (which was absolutely delicious :cloud9: ) we had booked this at 90 days but nearer the time I decided I was going to miss not having a character meal on Christmas Day so kept checking for an early ADR for Crystal Palace breakfast and managed to get an 8am cancellation about 45 days out.

If you don't get want you want first time keep trying ~ lots of people make ADRs which they later cancel.

Wow, I hadn't realised that the recession had effected peak times at Disney so bad. It was a few years back when I was there for Xmas but I know I was sweating it for all our ADR's though I guess perhaps I'm just merging them all in my memory with the stress of getting the Candlelight Processional for Christmas Eve.

We were in epcot on Christmas Day last year and ate at Tutto Italia for lunch. We had no problem getting an ADR at 180 days - in fact I think there were only a few that weren't available at that time.

The meal at Tutto Italia was one of the best of the holiday too!

are you allowed to book adrs for someone else to use - or does that not work/is not allowed?

Its just we are onsite until 23rd Dec before we go on our cruise, and I believe (although someone might tell me different as I have never done it before!!) that I can book 180 + 10 online even though I will have left WDW.

If this is correct and I was allowed to book a Christmas day reservation for someone else, I could do it at 180 + 10 for you Lisa if that would help??

Just a thought - but again, I don't know if that is something I can do??:confused3:thumbsup2

Christmas 2007 we ate at the LTT in the MK on Christmas Day, it was fantastic :)
Had no trouble booking the ADR at 180 days :)

Of course the MK was heaving, but we managed it, even with my 80 year old grandmother in tow:)

No you wouldn't be able to do that as you aren't onsite anymore.

We flew on Christmas Day last year and didn't bother with an ADR but I did look and could have booked CRT for the evening.

We ate at GF in 2008 and at CG at the CR the time before. One year we ate in the castle - but think LTT which does serve turkey would be better if that's what you want.

I am still deciding for this year - at the minute I am leaning towards CG if I can get it :)
