A sure way to clear a room. ANNOUNCING! The Second Challenge!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good evening teams! Congratulations for making it to round 2 of Extreme WPASADI.
Last week we taught you how to pay very close attention to detail. You had specific areas you had to cover, details you had to satisfy and a budget you had to carefully log and keep track of.
We had a reason we had this challenge like this.. we wanted you all to know exactly what we look for - details.
Now we are setting you free. The details of this challenge will not be so precise and exact. You will not have a budget to keep and you will not have a laundry list of things you have to cover. We are expecting you to realize what areas you should cover yourself.
Also, with the freedom comes more responsibility to answer questions amongst yourselves. This time we are limiting the number of questions you are allowed to ask myself or Ty regarding this challenge to no more than 3. If you have a question, start a thread on your board titled "Challenge 2 Question for the Hosts". Ty and I will be popping into your rooms at least once a day to look for this thread to see if you need anything answered.
We also expect you to assign at least one member to watch the main WPASADI board for updates and announcements. Don't risk missing anything!
One more announcement before we get to the challenge - Ty and I will be shutting off our PM boxes at the private boards. They have a capacity of 50 messages and it is absolutely impossible for us to keep them empty at all times for you all so all private correspondence needs to go on in the Main DIS PM system.
Ready for your challenge?
Who's up for a little boat ride?
Your team is an up and coming radical new cruise ship designing firm and The Disney Company has hired you to design their THIRD CRUISE SHIP!
Yes, you will be designing the sister ship to the Magic and the Wonder!
Well, of course you can't actually do a mock up of a ship to show to us, but you can certainly use your power of description to pitch your new ship to us. (is pitch an okay word to use with ships? Seems dangerous! )
We aren't going to tell you this time exactly what you need to present to us or describe to us outside of a few basics. That is up to your team. What we do want you to do is to make this ship DIFFERENT than the other ships out there.
Things we do want to see?
1. What you will name your new ship
2. What ports of call it will have and why you picked them
3. Cruise ship basics should be covered.. pools, restaurants, shows.
What's up to you? Everything else! Maybe your cruise ship will be adults only. Maybe it will be budget minded and less expensive than the other ships, maybe it will have unusual ports of call. Maybe it has a way out theme. Maybe it will have a big old Ferris wheel on the top.. it's up to you!
Remember what we like - details and thinking outside the box. Stretch the limits of your imagination, just make your ideas feasible. Use images in your presentation where you can, and where you can't, use your power of description to paint us a picture.
Now for the deadline and other fun stuff- your teams entry will be due on Sunday, December 17th at 7pm est. Please PM the link to your entry to both Ty and Tim to avoid any problems should one of us have an emergency. All entries must be anonymous in all ways - links included.
Your team must keep up your diary so that we can see how everyone is contributing along the way. Use the same diary thread, just make a clear post between the two entries stating that we are now recording teamwork for challenge 2. You will not need a receipt book for this challenge and Ty or I will be by in the next couple of days to unstick it for you.
Good luck teams! We can't wait to see what you can do with this challenge!
Audience, we will be announcing a fun way for you to win a prize later during the challenge! Stay tuned!
