Christmas Cruising 2005

As yes, that's the ticket, you are totally her...Are you home now? Should I ring?

I wear tankinis...

I have a black speedo and pink YSL from NC (Belk's.)

I was complimented Monday in my pink one  (by a lady) :p

I also make use of my mickey cover up anf sun dresses.

N: email sent :)

Hey scrappers! Guess what I got!

If you know Disneydirect, you may know of the Mickey hole punch. It does the full figure of Mickey.

I found, at the Mickey store near the West side of DTD (down town disney) a Mickey head silouhette hole punch!

I can not only make holes that look like a hidden mickey, I can make Mickey confetti!
He makes approx quarter inch holes.

Did I miss a birthday? Happy Birthday Karen! :cool1:

love that hole punch...

Hi, I'm Nanette and I'm a scrapaholic and buy every fricking Mickey mouse thing I see and have so much Disney scrap crap that I can't remember what I have and don't have.

got another punch today, it is a mickey head made swirly, hard to describe, I'll have to punch and pic some for you.

I need to get the kids making some confetti, huh?

Swim suit check in - - -

Do we have to discuss this? Okay you're right, we talked about breastfeeding, so I guess we do.

I go for the Tankini too from my favorite french store Targe(t). Got a few this summer on sale. Hope to hide in my Mickey cover up. Oh yeah I also have a mickey suit. Oh yes, keeping with my freakish nature we have family swimsuits too, I think at the time the kids have out grown theirs so you'll not see that. But it gets me thinking that we really need to matchey matchey for te Dolphin Encounter, hmmmm...where to get matchey matchey this time of year.

Gotta get packed for racing tomorrow.

Ciao,

N

The GF and the Poly are still selling swimsuits. The shop I'm about to open with Danny sell suits year round because of local swim teams.

My crew favors matching tshirts over matching outfits.
~~~
I actually caught up with your last week of events, I have so many notes for replies I'll write them on a word doc tomorrow and then post it.
~~~
Yes, it's late...I'm all unpacked now too. Me thinks it be time for a bubble bath. :cloud9:

Welcome home, Tig! And yes to the 12:30-1 banana boat. It's going to be hilarious! Hey cruise gang, come join in or at least watch us hang on for dear life! :rotfl:

so I moved on to swim dresses. At first I thought that I would look like a grandma, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some really cute ones. They look very girly to me now, and I LOVE the fact that I don't have to worry about bikini waxing or shaving.
Dede, I agree about the swim dresses. I bought my first one last year, and it's so cute. I do feel girly in it, too. We're a bunch of girly girls, I love it! princess:

Jill, that's a great picture of the princesses you posted. You don't see too many pictures with ALL of them together. Tig, yes about Sleeping Beauty. When I was a little girl, I used to imagine that I was her. I had the soundtrack on an LP, and I'd sing "I Wonder" over and over. But if no doubles are allowed, I defer to Kayla, because I know she's Princess Aurora, too.

It's so late. I just got home from a fundraising party at our parish, and it was fun, but too doggone long! I can't believe I'm still awake.

Why am I never around when every one is so chatty??

Welcome back Tig - I would have to say Mickey - Thanks. Let me know the damage and I can wait until we meet at WOD for the exchange.

Grim - I married a geek, so they are all cool/great in my book! I  him deeply.

My favorite Princess is Belle. I had a hard time most of my childhood fitting in and longed for adventure. Then I discovered theater and it took me to places I had never been! B&B is my most favorite Disney movie of all time. Has any one seen the version they showed at Cannes? Part complete, part storyboards, part unfinished sketches. Most intriguing!

Aisling - how sweet to defer to Kayla, but she has moved on to a Prince Charming of her own so I doubt she'll be playing!! She would be happy to share.

I found a place that sells separate bathing suit tops and bottoms (the cute dress ones!) and am doing the  Now if only they made them floor length :rotfl:

Today looks like another glorious day (every day I breathe is a glorious day), but after so many days of rain the sun is a beautiful sight!!

Final tee-shirt design by tonight - will need to know sizes of every one. Child sizes included. Can PM if you'd like. Final cost will be around $10 per shirt. Will post the design.

Performance today - Desperate Housewifes tonight!

Slept too late to make it to church (we are overcrowded, so kids must sign up for Sunday school time). We have been very lax this fall...usually we are so good in the fall! Hailey & Jack still love it, but Marcus basically prefers anything opposite of what we require of him these days...he really is a pretty good kid, so I was surprised when he began to balk at Sunday School. Our inconsistency doesn't help...BUT they will begin rehearsing for Xmas program, SO we need to get w/ the program!!!! :rotfl2:

Princesses...I, too, always adored Cinderella, but I'm digging Aurora's look more as I get older. Cindy is starting to look uptight. And now that I consider the story, I am far more like Aurora--ignoring parents' rules & getting into trouble! (Cindy just put up w/ the crap!)

Nan--I LOVED Hitch. That was the last movie we went to!

I did schedule one spa thing for cruise...Metabolic test...only $30. Not entirely sure it is "real", and not entirely sure I want to know if it is!

Swimsuits--MIRACLESUIT, girls! That and a lovely sarong (nearly to the floor, Karen!) Suit in black, plinging neckline to show off my asset(s), and detract from everything else, and I can change sarongs for variety (picked up a gorgeous fuschia one in Cozumel last year for $12--unfortunately the dye smells skanky when it gets wet!) This suit keeps everything that it covers back where it is supposed to be!
Cannot do a tankini after 3 C-sections--SO wish I could! And all my girlfriends have the little skirts (even the SKINNY ones). They look cute, but I feel matronly...I'm sure it has nothing to do w/ my matronly, er, motherly, shape!

Losing weight...I keep working out, eating right, though not rigidly watching intake...well, my clothes will likely fit fine for the cruise. SO the good news is that I won't have to buy new clothes for the cruise...and the BAD news is that I don't need to buy new clothes for the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Party was fun. Dan went as SpongeBob Squarepants. Pinned sponges w/ BOB written on them on old sweatshirt, and pinned squares to his pants. Big hit.
I just dressed in jeans and cami w/ a lei...when asked, simply said "I'm a good lei/lay" Another hit! Fun costumes were The Cramdens from the Honeymooners, a "One night stand" (nightstand w/ lampshade), a "free breathalizer"--a tube to blow in at a strategic location on a guy.....:earseek:
Watched Huskers, drank beer, ate good potluck munchies, danced to a fun band.

Tired today...I think the only thing I need to go out to do is groceries. Cannot take boys to volleyball, they do nothing but screw around, so only one of us goes. So looks like I'll have time to wrap up some school work. I am in a MUCH better place after working so hard last weekend! I have a major report due at the end of the month (our building "Gifted Plan" for gifted & talented students). It has a template, I simply need to make some changes to it. I procrastinate this one evey year.

I got on cruisecritic.com, and low & behold, there is a meet thread for the cruise Dan & I are taking next Oct. already! About 5 have already logged on! Several from the east coast like several of you! (though they already sound like a more serious group than you!)

Well, I'll be back~~~~

Kris

Hey Christmas Cruisers!

I have a lot to write, try to keep up ;)

Nan, Here’s my California Real Estate prediction…Wait til the kids get close to high school. You’ll be glad you did.

Regarding scrapping, I have tons of stuff I could use from all my trips since 1993. Tickets, napkins, stickers, streamers and of course photos. I have yet to make one book :confused3

It looks like a trip is in the works for December 2006. We may even have the day of check in, December 8th.

Rose wants to rent her Summer Bay house to my family and my BIL already has his dibs in to go.

Aisling, I believe that every human being has a vice. Something they just have to have…Your Mel has his Tennis, and we have Mickey :teeth:

I’ve pet small stingrays in aquariums and swam with the big ones at Discovery Cove. I’m ok with them. Trust me, I’d rather watch then touch. They are truly amazing animals. You cannot let yourself get preoccupied with things that may happen…like spotting a shark. I highly doubt they would put you in the water if they didn’t feel it was safe.

Nan, Have you asked about the magical express yet? Call your concierge and have them reserve your hotel transportation for you. It should be as simple as a phone call…lemme know when you call.

Kris, My last week without hubby was hard. I slept with his picture next to my bed, I called him and he called me every chance we got. I am really glad to be home but am also blessed to have been able to go at all.

Before you do the cruise out of NYC would you be staying overnight first? I sense another mini meet a-brewin.

Karen has charge of last one to post as we all head to FL. :hyper: :cool1: One more trip, Nan, and we’ll all be on final countdown to cruise time right?

Dede: I will give everyone a link to my photobucket. If Dom wants to build a website, what is the logo that’s gonna be on our shirt design? We should use that for the website as well. (Where’s that artwork you promised me Karen? I have Mickey heads waiting to be worked on ;) )

Nan/Paul, Is he gonna do passenger or driver for the Petty experience? I read that the driving one gives ranking to the person in your group with the fastest time. There will be a pacecar in front of him but it will speed up to go as fast as your hubby is willing.

My hubby is (don’t tell him I told you) Jealous of Paul. John loves watching the rally races and is very impressed to know your husband did that competitively.

My kids, 17 and 19, still love going to Disney. They were 5 each of their first times to visit the world. Adrian’s first time was with his grandparents and Brittany’s first was also with my in laws but John and I got to go on that trip. Chad and Jesse also prove teenagers can think Disney is cool.

I’d skydive if somebody else was paying. I’d enjoy the thrill but am to cheap to spend any cash on it for myself. I am thinking about hanggliding in NC next year. It’s offered on the same dune Wilber and Orville Wright stood on when preparing for the first flight.

Kris: I have only one piece of advise for your being loopy on formal night. Wear comfortable shoes. ahem…no seriously..wear flats-less of a chance you’d fall during your loop.

Aisling, my friend, could it have been I to whom you referred to when thinking of your in-house “techie” :scratchin :badpc:

I will be bringing my towel. I bought the double size Mickey Minnie towel for this trip…you better believe they’ll be beaching it and pool hopping with me.

Nan: I know you enjoyed the Eagles concert…John and I watched it on PBS. Awesome, awesome show.

Kris, I’m glad you made it thru the kids club dilemma. The PC at the library in FL went totally :badpc: right after I saw your question. My email to Mom went thru ok so I sent your answer thru her. Isn’t technology wonderful :teeth:

I’m sorry Aisling, I am losing faith in the Tag Fairy. As I said before, I got tired of waiting for my surprise and learned the techies are ok with doing it for you. You have to come up with the saying if you go over and ask (very nicely) on the tech board. They picked my colors.

Grim & Dede, your trip sounded fabulous! I won’t put dibs in on Grim, I am truly blessed with the hubby I have. Can’t wait for pictures! :hyper:

Mom, let me work on your birthday present, whatever you get from me, I’d prefer if it were a surprise and not something you outright choose.

Nan: When you are staying at the Lodge, a castmember I met suggested you get to know the chefs. This relationship could turn out to be very lucrative for all parties involved.

No really, the girl’s name was Jackie and said a friend of hers-TJ-is a Chef at AKL. Look him up when you get there, I believe he cooks for Boma…:scratchin … or was it Jiko…both were spoken very highly of. Boma is good for normal food at normal prices. Jiko is for a palate unafraid to try new foods at a premium price.

Karen, Mickey it is. I'll PM you later for shipping details.

Nan, I'll PM you later re: Phead gear and your WDW 50th AT.

Aurora is a very popular princess. princess:

Kris, Aisling and Kayla shall all be Aurora and Karen shall be Belle.
Going over to edit our list. (I'm putting these on the who's cruisin details.)

Plus then I avoided the whole costume thing!
Playing w/ the colors!!!!!!
9 weekends left! I gotta start packing!
This is fun!
Tig, Nan, Dede, Karen, where are you?
Nothing like a giddy, tired one on the board!
Well, off to see my boy, Patrick, in Grey's Anatomy
Night guys.
Kris
(Hope this turns out!) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi kids,
Time for Uncle Grim's vacation photos! Everyone gather 'round while I pull out the slide projector...

Here's one of my favorites - My youngest Nephew A.J. looked terrified through the whole ride. As soon as we got off, he asked 'Can We do it again?'

Click on any of the pictures for more.

grim pirate:

Oh my gosh Tigg, that was a long reply....I almost have to go back and read our own posts to keep up with you (not really) but it sounded good, huh?

I'll dig out a rally picture favorite of mine, we call it "air" you get the drift? I can't tell you this, but even old men drive those darn cars...Tell John to look into it if he really is interested, life's too short not to enjoy. (ha, I can say it since I know my husband has it out of his system...)

On that topic we are home from Wilson's race day. What a day. 3 calls for the paramedics and one was bad enough for Life Flight Helicopter. One was a 5 year, Justin, first time drive/racer that Wilson played with all day and that accident had the driver pinned under his kart, yes go kart flipped and kid landed under it. Really scary. Wilson was very frightened. We have talked about it all day. I told him that if he didn't want to do this and if it wasn't fun anymore that was okay he told me that if he was scared on the track he would drive off to the side. Lord please help me if I see a kart on top of him I think I'd lose it. Of course I thought that about Molly being thrown from her horse and now I send Paul to those lessons, am I getting chicken in my old age. More to think about on this parenting topic later....

Karen :

Can't wait for our Tshirts....We need the following:

XL for Nan & Paul
kids size 6-8 for Wilson
kids size 10-12 for Molly
(we like growth room in our family)

Can I mail you a check? PM me address and spelling of payee name. THANKS FOR DOING THIS!!!! Are you going to send them to us ahead of time or pass them out on ship? I bet we could have them go Priority Mail, only 3.85, I can send a SASE if you'd like. The envelopes seem pretty big. Can ya tell I'm really jazzed on this topic? :Pinkbounc

Okay Jill wish my mom would give me gift hints, I may just have to get you it for my mom's bday since I never have an idea for her :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Kris: Love the long swrong/soright :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'm so funny.(and that's just my looks) :rotfl2: :rotfl: Did ya tell your children what you were dressed as??? Shame on you is right :earseek: (ha ha just kidding, I'd do that kind of thing too), perhaps that is a bit to colorful for our children just yet. (yes I love finding new toys also) (but this one isn't too new for me, found it a while ago)

Tigg: will CA fall in the ocean by then? I tend to think that we will wait because I'm going to be picky to find the right house this time, no need to move unless it's perfect this time. We can just have vacations instead of a hugher (is that a word, not) mortgage.

I know didn't post my dress picture yet, I'll see if Paul will take them now, for tomorrows downloading..he's asking for a piece of my See's Candy I should get something for that deal right?

Ready for DH, just finished West Wing. So nice to be home in my chair dising and watching tv, only thing better is cruising in 9 weekends!!!! Good lord I have to pack too.

Nite girls & Grim,

Nan

Tig - please add Kayla to the Disney teens list. Born and raised on it! Knows more Disney trivia than Dominck and me put together!!!

Final tee-shirt design later without fail! I hope you all like it! Plan to send them out prior.

Need Molly and Hailey's favorite color please - surprise from Kayla in the making. Kandice and Shelly may I have the favorite colors of the 10 and under young ladies in your crowd. And do any of the young princesses have pierced ears? (Are there other young ladies I may have missed?)
