Christmas Cruise on the Dream - December 22, 2014 - 4 Night Bahamian Cruise

My kids and I are booked for this cruise. We are so excited. I am in the middle of a somewhat contentious divorce and planning this trip is helping keep my mind on happy things.

Here's who is traveling

Me - Stephanie (51)
Daughter Alicia (21)
Twins Nathan and Abby (15)

This is our very first Disney cruise and can't wait to spend our holidays in one of the happiest places on earth.

Just got off the Fantasy this weekend, and we are booking this cruise as our onboard booking through DVC :) This will be our 10th cruise, so it will qualify us for Platinum! :cool1: We have sailed in January before, but never on a Christmas cruise. SO excited!

We are all booked for this cruise- our first on the Dream. We booked a Deluxe Ocean View with verandah but upon later reflection and research, we learned that we actually meant to book a Deluxe FAMILY Ocean View with Verandah. I also found out our current rooms' verandah is solid white wall

Hopefully changing will not be a pain!

Is anyone going to create a Facebook page for our cruise? I've found that is a great place to meet fellow cruisers...

I've tried clicking on the link, but FB tells me that either the page is unavailable or I do not have permission to view <help>

Hi! We are on this Christmas cruise! It will be our first cruise!

We want to be in the FE group! It'll be me (Brigette-48), Damon (40) and Shannon (10).

Any tips y'all can provide will be appreciated! :beach:

Does anyone know if the ship does anything special for kids with Asperger's or autism?

Hi, everyone! We are officially booked for this Christmas cruise! It will be our first family vacation.

I cannot get the FE link to work but we would love to participate. Our family: Toby (47), Me (Megan-35), Royal (6) and Mary Helen (3).

Royal has Aspergers so any insight on how to make our trip a success is much appreciated.

:santa:

I am new so the board will not let me post links; however, go to FB and search for this group:

Disney Dream: Christmas Cruise to the Bahamas 12/22/14

. Yes, disboards will not let us link directly to FB groups any longer. Just search for the name and date at Facebook and you'll find it.

We're running a bit behind, lol, but we're probably going to be booking this one next weekend. It'll be a HUGE celebration trip for my family. We'll be celebrating DH earning his doctorate degree (his final defense is 11/11), DD's first birthday (12/15) and our fifth wedding anniversary!

We've never cruised with a baby. Any tips?

My family and I are cruising for the first time. We are all very excited. We have 3 daughters: Abbygayl- 10 Vyctoria- 6 (will be 7 on New Years Eve) and Ruby who will be 10 months. princess:princess:princess:

I just booked our first Disney cruise for my five year old son and I. We have stateroom 7531 and are dining second. I have no idea what this means so if anyone can fill me in that would be great.

We live in Florida and will be driving to Port Canavel. Does anyone have any recommendations for parking?

Where in FL do you live? It may be cheaper to stay at the Radisson or one of the hotels that has a "park with us while you're on the cruise" deals than to pay for parking at the port. Per the DCL site:

$60.00 per parking space for the 3-night cruise
$75.00 per parking space for the 4-night cruise
$90.00 per parking space for the 5-night cruise
$105.00 per parking space for the 6-night cruise

Whereas it was like, $30 for 7 nights when we stayed at the Quality Inn the night before.

I have helped with our last one, so I'm happy to set one up.. Essentially, we need room numbers, # of people (ages/genders), and then we track it.. We can share the list and then we start making fun stuff! My kids had a blast delivering gifts on our last cruise!!! :)

We are traveling on the Dream, our first cruise, 22-26. So excited that our family, my brothers family and my parents are all going together. We would love to take part in Fish Extenders.

Hi all!

This is my family's first Disney cruise and we were just informed yesterday about the Fish Extender Program.

I've done some research and it seems really cool! Can you guys tell me if its too late to sign up for this (I've read somewhere that some people close the group months in advance).

The cruisers will be:

Kevin: (52)
Kim: (49)
Kara (me): 22
Forrest: 17

Any and all advice from this point is appreciated!

thanks!

Kara

I just booked our first Disney cruise for my five year old son and I. We have stateroom 7531 and are dining second. I have no idea what this means so if anyone can fill me in that would be great.

There are two seatings for dinner on the cruise. So dining "second" means you have the second seating. This means you should attend any evening shows (which are great, by the way) BEFORE you go to dinner. Because you're traveling with a five year old, this may be late for him to eat dinner. So I'd suggest room service before you go to the show or swing by the snack bars on the upper deck to grab some food to tide him over. :)

We just booked this cruise. We are also celebrating our December princess' Sweet 16! Looking forward to all the birthday and Christmas wonderfulness of it all! :cool1:
Shane - DH - 43
Sherry - me - 42
Emma - DD - turning 16
Rachel - DD's BFF - 15
We are from Mississippi (originally from Ohio).

We just booked this cruise to celebrate our daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday. Her actual birthday is 12/23. As her mom I always feel that she gets snookered because her birthday is so close to Christmas - well, not this time!!! I have three children but Giana is my only girl. So thrilled that we can mark this special occasion with a memorable vacation.
Looking forward to sharing fun times with y'all as well - yes I'm from the north but my son goes to college in Charleston and I guess it has rubbed off on me LoL :rotfl:

Tony - DH - 46
Roxann - that's me - 46
Anthony - DS - 19
Giana - DD - 15
Marc - DS - 11

Looking forward to planning too!

Is it too late to join the FE for this cruise? I know it's super last minute, but I just got a HUGE gift from Santa Mickey, and now have the ability to join.

We were booked in a Cat 11 (inside) but last night around midnight, I discovered there was a Florida Resident code for this sailing (WHOA!) and they had a disabled room available on the discount - I use a wheelchair - (Double WOAH!) we were upgrade to a Cat 5 (Varandah) AND got $920 back, which is about 30% of our fare.

I'm so happy I'm shaking.

Anyway, now we have a few (!!!) extra funds where we had been really tight, so I'd love to participate in the FE. Christmas is a tough time for us, and this would add a ton of magic.

ETA: We are Geannie (33) & PJ (46) married and traveling from central FL. Will have new SR# in a few
