Christmas Cruise 2005!!!

Hey everybody!
How is everyone this fine HOTT day!? It's just a killer to be outside on such a hot day! Our pool is almost unbearable to swim in because we have the sun shining right on our back yard where the pool is! Just wanted to say hi! I am watching an episode on the Travel Channel right now of Great Hotels and they are featuring the Wilderness Lodge....I love that place! We tried to get vacation property there but it was all booked up...I couldn't blame anyone though! Well I will be back later! Have a magical day! Tori, I'm just guessing, but I think you're a little bit excited about our cruise? Cool idea about the colors!

So tell us about your family? Are you the eldest child? Do your parents know about the Dis? Do they know about us ? Are you flying in the day of the cruise, or staying somewhere? Do you know if your parents are planing to be at the terminal early? I'm just wondering all these things, because will your family think it's strange when you meet up with so many of your Dis friends? Will they ask, how do you know all these people??

It's really hot here, too. But I'm indoors most of the day, so it doesn't bother me. My Jesse, who is 13, won't even ride his bike outside, and I don't blame him. He has a friend over, and they're playing video games. They were at the mall all afternoon for the free air conditioning.

I've just decided to book a 4 day Wonder cruise in August 2007, followed by a week at WDW. I've told my extended family, so that they, and we, have enough time to budget it. This cruise is getting so close, I needed to have another Disney trip in the works to keep me going. DH, and even my kids, don't want to hear about it. "We haven't even gone on THIS trip yet!" Sheesh, lemme have my fun, will ya, because planning is half the fun!

Anyway, I'm planning on 2 inside staterooms, preferably on deck 5, to save money. And then a week at the Poly. I'm tempted to stay at AKL again because we loved it there so much, but we've never stayed at the Poly, so I want to give it a try. But I might change my mind and go with AKL.

Now I'm going to put up another countdown clock to prove to myself that we're really going!

Talked with my sis last night and we agreed that we may to Dland at Tday. Stuff has been too heavy with our parents lately so we are trying to find ways to bail out and let the "other" 2 older sisters make a holiday plan for them, sounds bad I know but sometimes you need to keep your own family first, rather than your parents.

Getting hot here too, not as hot as you guys, but hot for us!!!

Much work to do again today, so I'll be lurking.

Grim, I called Costco for rates, and they said the rates aren't out yet, but they'll "put me on the list" and call me when the rates do come out. But I'm planning on re-booking onboard for the bennies. I wish we could do another week-long cruise, but then that means only a few days at WDW, and I really need more than a few days there! And I also want to try out the Wonder. I'm trying to do every Disney thing that I can. Next will have to be buying into DVC, and then what's left?? Oh yeah, staying at every Disney hotel! I have 4 down already.

But seriously, I dread cruising in August, but so far, for timing reasons, it seems the only time open for us. Well see. But I'm definitely going!

Nan, you're so lucky to live so close to DL. You, too, Grim. And I think it's a good idea to go for Thanksgiving (is that what Tday means??) Your parents will be fine, and your sibs will get a good lesson!

yes T-day = thanksgiving....it is also our 9th wedding anniversary, 14th year of when we met anniversary. We count that weekend as the date (along with the real wedding date 11/30) but we met the day afer Thanksgiving so we conside that the "real" date of our anniversary. Clear as mud right????

ok grand party weekend thats what I'd like to call it!!! (Paul's bday is 12/5 so he gets shoved in the middle of annivesary, T-day and Xmas) I try to do good things for him on big years, 30, 35, & 40, but the other ones seem to get the short end of the stick...Lee and I thought about taking him to Dland this year, okay that would be a bday present for us huh???

Ok, she is just plain weird....I don't really like her bouncing on the side of my screen wish I could move her to a dungeon or something.

Aren't you guys missing Tigg & Kris today....seems so quite with just us 3 or 4 huh?

Wow, DH must have unsubscribed to this thread. Who knew this thread was still going strong. I have a lot to catch up on ... We recently started posting again as we are nearing THE date! I am so obsessed with this trip I can't think of anything else - I know get a life!!!

Hey everyone else, it worked...that darn witch is gone from my immediate view... Now I see in her place... much better

So DD and I have started planning the Bon Voyage/Xmas/DH birthday party we are having since we are on the cruise over Xmas and can't celebrate with family and friends in our normal style....are you ready....sit down....

Disney Theme of course....multi room like our favorite places....

In the Living Room will be POC (as we call if Pirates of the Caribbean)

In the Playroom It's a Small World

In the back yard Tiki Room

Molly's Playhouse will be transformed into the castle (Plywood facade)(complete with Dragon she tells me)

Music of the theme will play in a loop in each room and food of the place in each room too.

Oh my do you think Paul is going to kill me over this crazy plan....he might be better off sending me and the kids back to Disneyland instead of us having a party.

Okay, now for the good stuff....waiting to hear from all of you on suggestions to make it work

Did anyone else get a package in the mail today????

I got a cute little envelope to stick in a cute little booklet about our cruise.

It even had my dates right and that I have purchase the Romantic Escape package noted on the cover letter. Okay, it also reminded me to pay up

It was cool, a nice way to see what excursion are are what islands rather than web hopping.

SO......Aisling what island are the boys planning on doing the mountain bike ride? It appears to be on both St Maarten and St Thomas/John. We want to do the Dolphins on St Maarten, so hopefully your guys wanted to ride on St Thomas.

We're really going on this huh???? I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

We're over to the beach this afternoon, Santa Cruz tonight for a free concert & rides at the Boardwalk, then tomorrow over to Half Moon Bay for Lee & Molly to horse back ride, Paul Wil and I will be house snooping.

Yes I am the eldest child. I have one other sibling. He is 10 and will be 10 on the cruise. I am 13 right now but will be 14 the time of the cruise. My dad and my mom have heard about the disboards by me talking about them and my dad has explored this a little bit but my mom isn't too greta with computers. I still have to show her how to go to certain things on aol. I am driving in to orlando and staying at the radission (sp?) that is about 10 minutes away from the port. We have stayed there for the 2 other cruises we took with disney. We are part of the disney vacation club and have been since 1999. I hope to get my parents more involved in disboards but I am still trying. We always take the earliest shuttle to the port. We get there about 10 ish....and for the past 2 cruises we have taken we have been the 1st or 2nd people in line to board...which I think is SO cool! I have told them about having dis meets at the port or at the radisson (sp?) or where ever we have them and they definitely WILL ask me where I met all these poeple but I will just tell them that they have to get involved in disboars! lol.... I will write more later! I have to go hang with the family...

Maybe because you're in a suite?? I can imagine your excitement! It's getting so close!

About the biking excursion, I forget which island my guys are doing, so I'll check and let you know.

And about your holiday/birthday party, wow you're so creative! What a great idea. But be careful, your family may accuse you of being Disney obsessed. I can't think of ideas at the moment, but I'd bet if Tig were here, she'd have a ton!

Jesse has his cousin over, and they're thoroughly annoying each other.

I just turned on my bedroom TV, and have no picture. So it's off to Circuit City.

Not much action here for being gone 4 days! I am staying w/ a friend in Salt Lake tonight and fly out tomorrow. I had a WONDERFUL time, got NO sleep, managed to drum up a migraine this AM--but the masseuse managed to help it a bit. I muddled through. But I made SEVERAL albums in 3 days. The big one I need to finish, and I have pics to put in, but it inspired me--I really need this annual trip to re-ignite my creative juices. Met a group of crazy wonderful women.
Nan--CKU is coming to San Jose next year!!!! One of the crazy women I roomed w/ is from Napa (and works at Jelly Belly--how cool is that??!! We had 50lbs. of Jelly Bellies to hand out!) So I am considering talking Mom into San Jose and add side trip to Napa/San Fran. We shall see. I REALLY like this album concept they added--I don't think I can go back to "regular" CKU!
Well, VERY tired, ready to go home. Don't fly out until 4 something tomorrow, so I have all day to try to pack all my stuff into 2 suitcases, a carry on & a tote w/o going over weight limits!

NSKJERVEN...We also got a package in the mail today...I lovew looking through it...

AISLING...I might be the experienced cruiser....but every time I get on that ship I feel like I am discovering things new and "uncharted magic" and I just love walking on knowing theres more things...NEW things to be discovered.

Don't you just laugh when you walk on and they ........ .... .... to everyone and after you come back from ..... in ...... ... and your exploring the ship and getting ready for the magical .... .... party and you hear the cruise crew members announcing other peoples .....!? I love it its just the thing that tells me that I am finially here again!!!

The places with ..... are blanks. I don't want to spoil the surprises for the new cruisers. so you will just have to wait and see!!!
