How's that red dress of yours?

LOL!!! Ya got me!! I definitely need to lose a few pounds before I'll be able to fit into that dress. It's SO hard! But time is on our side, 11 months. :cool1:

I've been checking out the past temperatures at Port Canaveral on the last 5 years of Dec. 24, and it seems to average high 70's. I'm already planning what I'm going to wear on the way down. This is so much fun!

I've also been checking out old Navigators, and there are so many things to do. I don't do well with lack of sleep, and the days look like they're going to LONG. This is a concern for me, because I want to do it all.
Jill, did you feel overwhelmed on your previous cruise?

We have been planning this trip for so long.(a year already) I can't believe it is finally getting close enough to start booking things other than the cruise.

Air faire, trasportation to port, travel insurance, resort reservations, etc. :cool1:

I am so glad for these boards and all of you. I know I have decisions to make, but atleast I know which ones need to be made. I'm not sure that makes sense. :blush:

Aisling: We'll all be showing off our new figures together!

The ship offers soooo much, you will have to pick and choose what to do.
I feel, if we want to see all the movies and shows we'll not make it to all the games and events. If we want to ride the regatta, we may not have time to just lay on the beach...see where I'm going with this?

While at sea, I picture myself at the pool and on the sports deck during the day. Britt definitely wants to do the "who wants to be a mousketeer."(show name?) We'll choose our evening entertainment together each am when we get our navigators.

Mom, tell us what shows and activities you did while on the ship?

3xTC:

Mom's way ahead on that. She booked the Radisson at PC for the 23rd and I believe reserved SOG for Sat, Sun & Mon after.

She's also decided to drive down to FL for the cruise.

Britt, Stef and me will be flying in, hopefully the 22nd. I'm looking into visiting with DH's aunt in Melbourne that night and mom can pick us up from there when she arrives to go to the radisson. She can even drive us to the port since she'll have her own vehicle.

so I guess the only thing left for me to arrange would be our airfare. Oh Joy!

Ais: I was hoping it would be chilly that first day so Mom and me can wear our matching Tigger hockey jerseys! I got my Tigger Christmas hat to match, Mom has the light up Mickey Wizard hat...I'd be worried if you can't find us in these getups! ;)

Aisling & Colleen

I can't say that I was overwhelmed during the cruise. Laurie (DD) & I would look at the Navigators the day before & kind of plan the day.

We had booked our excursions before we got onto the cruise ship. Amazing as it may seem but Laurie & I agreed on the same ones. Soooooo no problem there. Because of the hurricane 2 were changed & they gave us other choices for where we were going to instead.

We had the late dinner which actually gives you a chance to do just about everything we wanted to do.

The girls liked sleeping late, so I would start out much earlier than they did. It was a good time to have breakfast then walk the track that was set up.

Alyssa (DGD) made quite a few freiends at the Oceaneers Lab. She would check in & out constantly.

I tried to hit the pool everyday around 4. Got a gold medal there one day. for a swimming event (3 girls against 3 guys) Only one day did we have mild waves. The pool was like a wave pool. It was a blast.

The comedy shows were extremely funny. The comediennes were even funnier when they did the show at Rockin D At night w/o kids.

Who wants to be a mouseketer was good. It's like who wants to be a millionaire. I even got picked to be on stage. I won a ships credit.

We learned how to dance, saw shows, met the characters. Did Mexcan fiestas, became pirates.

Laurie & I went to shows just about everynight.

I brought the ingredients for Kamakazies. I would make a batch & we would take them out with us.

The only thing I didn't care for was they claim there was quite a bit to watch on tv. 2 CNN stations, disney channel, & maybe 1 or 2 regular channels + info on the ship .

Having a verandah was also a plus. It was great for quiet time or to see the scenery & sunrises & sunsets.

Laurie played bingo one time. I used the internet a few times but not enough to get the package deal.

Colleen - I'm wearing my tigger shirt as I type this. The pneumonia is just about all gone. Dr let me go back to work early. Today we had some excitement. They wouldn't let us leave early. One of the 2nd shift Officer was sitting in his car in the parking lot by the street & got caught in the crossfire of a gun fight. His car got shot up but he wasn't physically hurt.
Once the police arrived & checked out the scene they let us go. I think they caught one of the guys involved.

Oh, Aisling I think you asked me a while back if I was tired after the cruise. I can't say that I was. After 10 days on the ship it was nice to get off. Since the last 3 days weren't on the original schedule there were things planned but not as much as in the beginning.

Everybody Have a Magical Day

Jill :moped: :wave:

I just checked Song out of JFK and LGA, even though there's another week before I can book the outgoing flight. The one-way fare to MCO is only $59. I'm PRAYING that it stays that way for Dec. 24th. I'm going to make sure I'm the first person on that site as soon as they open the tickets, to grab any precious few cheap seats!

I'm watching President Bush's ceremony now. By luck, I didn't have to go to work today, so I'm really enjoying the inaugueration (sp). It's very moving.

Jill, I'm sending healing thoughts your way! :wizard:

I noticed that NY's JFK has some of the best airfare in the tristate area.

ooh! Did I tell you I'm going back to WDW this March?! My friend Rose invited me and 2 other friends to stay at her timeshare called Star Island. So of course I said yes! We go the night of the 9th and return the morning of the 14th.

I was looking for the best price to fly down in March and found it out of JFK...but...my friends and I are leaving together and they wanted to leave out of Philly. So we're taking Airtran out of Philly for $165 round trip. Not too bad a price, eh?

~~~
How long now til we can check for real? 2 more weeks?
~~~

My turn to play MOM to Mom!

TBJ, please make sure you're getting enough rest...I know you worked a double your first day back...you don't want the pneumonia to come back, do you?

:earboy2:
Thank you Aisling - Thank you Colleen. (The double consisted of sitting in a booth & pushing buttons) That is way less than I do when I am at home.

I know you guys will enjoy your trip. hmmmmmm a group of young girls out on the town.

:grouphug:

We'll be the four adult women you see skipping thru the parks together!

I figure by March I'll be ready to head down for some real sunshine!

:)

Please excuse me for not knowing this but who is the daughter and who is the mother? Tiggerwannabe/trinibjill? Now that we have that cleared up, what kind of price did you get for the Radisson on the 23rd? Already have my SOG ressies, Dec 31-Jan 4th. Waiting on song also. Thank you ladies. :crazy: :earsgirl: :smooth: :bounce:

~Mom can answer the Radisson rate question, I can show you who we are!~

To refresh everyone's memory, this is who is cruising in my group...

Colleen used the nicest pictures, didn't she?

Well the room is $139. If you go to Daves Disney Cruise Line Site dcltribute.com . He describes all of the hotels there & the prices. There are less expensive ones if that is what you need. but, this one is close, it does have mixed reviews. But it is a good meeting spot to party at the day before boarding.

How does that sound? Party - Smoothies - Kamakazies. ( Or whatever you drink)

Jill :moped: :wave:

Our cruise is almost sold out! :earseek: I have a family member that was going to book using DVC. She was told the cruise was going to be closed to DVC, since it is almost sold out. Their are only a few cabins left on Expedia. They booked through Expedia, and they are going to rent out their DVC points. They were only able to book on deck 2. It was the only deck Expedia had left. Disney themselves have little to nothing left as well.

We were able to book a cabin through DVC. They got cabine 2012 and are on the waiting list for main dining.

Who wants to eat at Palo's?

Is anyone interested in joining us on either Dec 25th (Sun) or 26th (Mon) for either a champagne brunch or high tea at Palo's?

There is a fee to eat at Palo's and it is adults only (18 & up):
$5 for high tea-includes finger sandwiches and dessert, there are two seatings for high tea late in the afternoon-- or $10 for brunch-which is a full buffet meal.

TBJill: You're coming, my treat ;)

Our group is planning to do the brunch and dinner for all our adults, 11 of us.
We ladies are planning the tea, 7 of us. I'm not sure which days, so maybe we will see you. We'll be the four couples with our mothers. Thank goodness my sister has conc. service to get the reservations.

We'd love to join you had brunch on 25th dec 2003 and it was easy to book I think lots of folkwith small Kids wanted to be with family on that day, we had a blast.

:cool1:

---I'm starting a list---fellow Christmas Cruisers & possible DISmeets-

1st day DISmeets: in Terminal or at Sail Away Party?
DIS Brunch/Tea: Dec 25th or 26th?
I only won't do dinner at Palo's because I plan (key word plan) on having dinner with DD every night.
CC Gettogethers: Banana Boat Ride!
Deck Seven Aft: I've read that this is a comfortable outside deck that is fairly secluded.
Pool Parties!

~anyone else have ideas for possible gettogethers let me know~
The More The Merrier!

Hi there :cheer2:

Good ideas

A good place for a meet is in the promenade lounge. Our group on the last cruise had the dis meet there after all the prelim stuff.

I think a brunch would be great.

Dinner with family is good. The only night Laurie didn't make our dinner was when she got sick. We have late seating by the way.

Everytime I went to the that deck seven aft the only ones that were there were the guys doing touchup paint. It is cozy. Good place for reading & sunning

:moped:

Sorry guys. I haven't been on lately. Does anyone have any info on the games and exscursions?
