Christmas craft ideas Disney themed

Just registered here at the DISboards and this is my first post...
I found this through a search for Disney themed holiday crafts and decorations and I am loving it. I have so many ideas now.
My family will be making our yearly trip over Christmas Week this year. Our first time ever at Christmas and we are so excited.
We are taking a small tree and wreath with us and I have been looking everywhere for fun decorating ideas that are cheap and cute. Tring to keep the "little extras" to a budget...and WOW have I found the ideas here.
Thank you all!
I am heading out tomorrow to get ribbons, wreaths, and bells. And I love the idea of hot gluing everything to the tree and wreaths so it travels easier and is set up and ready to go when we unpack, that will save some extra time.
Thank you again, I'll be working on this all week and weekend and hope to have some photos to post soon.

You could go buy 3 styrofoam wreaths $ tree has them. get one large and two smaller and glue them together in the shape of mickey's ears, might want to carv off a bit of the ears to make them fit correctly onto the head. cover with ribon by wrapping it around them. then take some of your favorite disney pictures, could be vacation pictures, could be clip art ect print it out and cut in 2-3" circles, cut out some solid color card stock circles slightly bigger than your images to glue your images onto so they have a sort of "framed" look, then hot glue them to your Mickey Head Wreath, tie a large loop of ribbon at the top for hanging :)

What a great idea! I think this might make a fun countdown calendar!

Another tree decoration idea...take the Home Depot Mickey heads, soak them in water to remove them from the cardboard. While wet, rub the backs to remove any left over paper. You are left with the color Mickey head. Once dry take 2 and glue them together with a ribbon looped to hang from tree.

To make them a bit stronger, don't soak them, just cut around the heads and leave the cardboard.

I did this to make garland for my window, so you could also make a garland with them, but you would need a bunch of ribbon.

Bump for the season
I still have these bells and hang them in our tree every year.

Mel, I love your decorations! The bells are super cute. I will have to try that sometime.
I will take pictures of my Disney Christmas homemade decor after we dig it out to decorate. A few years back I decided I wanted a Disney Tree. The Mickey ornaments from Disney are rather expensive and while I did buy some actual Disney ornaments I needed more for filler. I went to the 99 cent store and bought large ball ornaments for the head and smaller ones for the ears. They are not glass but rather a type of plastic. I used wire cutters to cut off the tops of the small ornament and used a glue gun to glue them on to a larger ornament to create the mickey ears. I put the glue around the hole of the small ornament and it kind of melted it a bit which helped some so that when I squished it down on the larger ornament it would bend a bit to conform to the large head which made it look more like the ear shape rather than two balls stuck on a larger one. For $4 I was able to make 8 large mickey head ornaments which I thought was pretty good. I also bought 2 wreathes from the 99 cent store, I cut one in half to make ears and wired them onto the larger one to make a mickey head wreath, I then attached some of my home made ornaments and that wreath has hung on our door every year since I made it. Sometimes a few ears will pop off the ornaments in storage and I just hot glue them back on when I do my decorating but other than that everything has held up fine for 5 or so years.
