Christmas Comes Early PTR Nov 27 - Dec 3 2011 **What's YOUR Opinion?**

This happens to be my very first comment on your PTR, but I do want you to know that I am so impressed you remembered the velour lounge pants. And since this is your PTR, I promise I won't tell a soul if you just make me a pair and forget about the other 99 pairs.

I guess I was a very bad RI'er when I lived there -- I would drive half way across the state to look for things. I hated the inconvenience of not having a Target within 5 miles.

as soon as i catch up on MY sewing for the boys & i, I'll make those pants for you . . . if you promise you won't tell a soul!

And, after living in the south, I drive across the state of RI to look for things too . . . but I also grew up with a mother that was from southern mass, so we did the trip from Jamestown to Taunton, MA quite frequently, so I guess I never was a "good RI'er" either. That, and I think Saunderstown gets an exemption in the "no driving" rule ... you pretty much are required to drive outside of Saunderstown for any staple, be it groceries (unless you are content with the Hess station at the top of the bridge for all your dietary needs) or clothing (unless you have a farm and are making your own clothes from hand spun wool or something) ;)

Marianne after seeing all photos I decided I should take pictures of what I have since I keep buying (FHA:rolleyes1) and I am now forgetting what I have.:rotfl:

I went to the Walmart on the Plainfield Pike for the first time and guess what they have.... They have the Creative Cuts with the Disney fabric:dance3:

:rotfl: See I think I am too spoiled. We live less than 2 minutes from Rte 2 in Warwick which now has 2 Targets :goodvibes But that only makes it harder to drive somewhere far to go shopping since I do have so many stores near me.

Taking the pictures only made me realize what I HADN'T bought :rolleyes1 But it was fun to have all those pictures in my purse for a while :)

Remind me again where Plainfield Pike is . . . middle of Warwick, right? I feel like maybe my cousin lived near there before moving down south. . . Great find though!!! Which store number is that?

Okay y'all - I have got to get some sleep - the big UMDF Carolina Foothills Energy for Life Walk is tomorrow morning and the boys & I have to BE there by 8:30 (and a promised stop for bagels needs to happen before that). For my RI friends, it'd be like driving from Jamestown to Garden City for where I have to go to get to the walk :rotfl:

Yesterday was 45 days til our trip to Disney though!!!!:cool1: My mom says her angina (did I spell that correctly? :confused3 ) started acting up the second I made the final payments :rolleyes1 But it's paid for . . . now, I really have to get sewing, don't I?:rolleyes1

Yay for paying off the trip!!!! :cool1: Yes, Marianne - you should probably sew something for that trip of yours... popcorn::

Almost:rolleyes1.... it is in CRANSTON off of 295!

Almost:rolleyes1.... it is in CRANSTON off of 295!

:lmao: My friends from high school that went to Cranston West would be very disappointed in me forgetting that! :lmao:

I've gotten lots and lots of cutting accomplished! 8 sets of bottoms for the boys, a pair of pants for me, I've gotten the layout done for a pair of Princess Decoupage Jeans for me, an upcycled Mickey skirt . . .

But now I'm stuck. I need your help! I know it's not "typical" for adults to wear customs unless it's a whole family sort of thing. Since there are six of us on this trip and 3 of them don't want to wear customs (not even shirts really) I'm sort of "worried" about my outfits and not looking too "crazy"

Should I lean more towards skirts made out of Disney prints or should I lean more towards embellished denim pieces? I have enough of both to go either way . . .

Here are my ideas:

- pink & white dots and stripes with Minnie Mouse here and there on grey jeans (the boys also have grey jeans but with blue & white dots and stripes with Mickey)

- World Showcase Mickey Head Flag jeans

- Princess Decoupage Jeans

- red, black, and yellow dots "Mickey" capris

- black corduroy skirt with yellow ricrac (the big wide stuff) and red & white Minnie dot ruffle to make the skirt a decent length

I also have a jean skirt with cow print & red bandana planned for Mickey's Backyard BBQ (the boys will have jeans embellished with the same material) because I can't think of anything else to do for that . . . any better ideas?

I also have a jean skirt I'm tempted to do a Peace Love Mickey decoupage with . . .

OR

I have some red "hidden mickey" material and a red with black mickey head material I could do a skirt with ...

the pink fabric with black Mickey Mouse on (enough for a skirt)

So - what do you think? Would it be better to lean towards upcycled jeans, etc. or skirts? I'm worried that the weather won't be warm and I'll freeze in skirts . . . but I'm worried that a different pair of upcycled jeans every day will be sort of weird :confused3

And really, why do I care so much? :rotfl2:

OK - you know me... DO IT ALL, AND LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!!!!! I know I am going to... Who cares what anyone thinks... you'll never see any of these people again anyways. What's the worst that could happen, really? You'd end up in that "crazy, weird & unusual at WDW" thread. :rofl2 And that's really not so bad, just think of it as free publicity. ;)

D~

:rotfl: I agree with D Actually most people will probably jealous of all your outfits.

So go for it :cheer2:

Hey you... Only 4 weeks (+ a day) until your trip... Stalkin' for updates...

D~

I say dress how you want! enjoy having fun with your outfits! I feel it makes better photos to have on Disney stuff.....an always so amazed that more people don't wear them in the parks!

It's been a little over a week since Marianne has updated her PTR...

I think I am going to start taking over her updates. :rotfl2:

D~

I'm BAAAACK!

I say WEAR DISNEY TO THE HILT!!!!! I wear all things Disney everyday I can, even here at home! I live in adventureland anyway!!! (Wish it was Fantasyland though....:rotfl2::lmao:).

D~ you can ghostwrite my TR if you want to...in all of your spare time you know...:rotfl:

ROFL Judy!

Oh good - we are all in agreement then???

So, here it is... D~'s version of Marianne's PTR...

Chapter 1

Marianne's trip is coming up fast... less than 4 weeks. I know she is running around, sewing like crazy - barely enough time to cook her family meals, brush her hair or shave her legs. But that's OK, she's going to WDW! Mickey (or is it Figment) will love her no matter what. :lovestruc Who could resist all those ruffles anyways?

OK everyone, please feel free to add on to my version... :thumbsup2

D~ <--- Now that I think about it, I do have a few pictures of what Marianne's been working on, but I just can't spoil any surprises - so you all are going to have to wait. Sorry.

D~

I have a hunch.

It's only a hunch, but it would explain why she hasn't posted in a week.

I could be wrong.

Statistically the odds of my being wrong are very low.

So here's my hunch.

I have a feeling that she knows I want to go to WDW and she's noticed that I don't have a ticker. No tickers means no trips. I have a feeling she's sewing a bajillion GA clothes so she can invite me to come with her at her expense. She's so busy sewing that she doesn't have time to post AND she's afraid if she's posts she'll let slip her plan to surprise me.

Like I said, it's just a hunch.

:dance3:

:dance3:

Yes, Cheryl, we are all familliar with your hunches... :rolleyes1 And, just to humor you, I"ll bet that's excactly what she's doing.

Actually, I know for a fact that she is taunting me with that 401 of hers... She sends me texts all the time about all the beautiful stitches it can do. So, in her defense, I think she is so busy wrapping a red bow around that 401 and figuring out how much it's going to cost to ship it to me as a Christmas gift... Then she will find out that it is going to cost waaay too much to ship it, so she is just going to book a flight that has a layover in MN, so she can give me the 401 in person.

With everything she has on her plate, she just doesn't even have the time to chime into her PTR. Poor girl. That's OK - we'll keep it going for her. :lovestruc

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have TRIED to update my PTR - but the dang internet keeps going all wonky and then the DIS has a server issue and then I'm too busy sewing or repairing or cutting or planning :headache:

But! Good news! Halloween is OVER! :cheer2: and I can focus on sewing for Disney!

So - I've been working on layouts for a bunch of decoupage projects. The first one are my "Princess Jeans"

I took these pictures one leg at a time so that I when I go to sew all the pieces on I can recreate my layout.

I've also done the layout for jeans for the boys for our first day at WDW. We all have grey jeans. The boys have royal blue & white fabrics with Mickey on their jeans and I'll have pink & white fabrics with Minnie on mine. I found grey Vintage Mickey t-shirts on clearance at the Disney outlet this summer for them to wear with theirs. I still need to find a Minnie T for me :)
Excuse the bad lighting on these pictures - I was texting back & forth with D~ while these were being taken.

Please, feel free to add to my PTR! I am happy to announce that we received our travel documents the other day and my parents finally have flight reservations! For whatever reason this trip doesn't feel "real" to me - :rolleyes1 don't ask me why - maybe it's my brain in denial because of all the sewing I have to do before our trip :headache:

OK, OK - we'll forgive you this time... but you probably shouldn't leave your PTR unattended for so long next time - no telling who might move in (Cheryl :confused3) :rotfl2:

Marianne - you guys are so cute!! I didn't dress up at all... My neighbor kept trying to put a stick down the back of my shirt so I could be a "stick in the mud" ROFL. :rotfl2:

Yay that your parents finally have their flights... it will feel real to you in a few short weeks when you start packing!

I need to leave in three minutes so I say do them all!!!! I would be very into the deco/upcycled jeans look, but I think the pink Mickey print skirt would be a must as well.
