Christmas 2015 chances

Well I have waited too late while at Disney last week we decided to come 2015 and stay at the Fort. Looking today, no sites available after 12/24. Ideally we would want to check in 12/19 and stay through 12/28. What are my chances, if any, if I book what's available and hope for a miracle of those other dates opening up. We are open to any RV site.

We're in the same boat for Thanksgiving. Booked today for the Sunday-Wednesday after and are hoping to add a few days at the front end later.

If I were you I would take what I could get now and try to add on later. Of course, if you get a Premium site now, for example, any add-ons need to be Premium also. With the Fort being full that time of year, they will not let you slide. If you end up with two different site types, you will have to move.

Picking up the extra days should be easy at this point if you are persistent and try frequently. You may have to piece together individual days, pairs, etc. in order to build out the stay you want. But at this point it's very do-able.

Is it best to check online and book a single day of it is open or should we call in to check?

We had the same problem after we left in october. have been trying everyday for our dates and nothing is opened. we actually didn't book our last trip until last june, just a few months before we arrived. but i was told everyone that was there that week booked while they were still there. i didn't think of it at the time!

I think I'll go for it! Cross my fingers that I can add a few more at the end. When we were walking around Christmas Eve night I was surprised to see quite a few empty spots. Right now there are only tent and full hookup available till the 24th.

Well I can get thru the 24th, then nothing again till the 27th. 25th and 26th are my bumps in the road. Thanks for the idea of piecing together.
If you were me, full hook or preferred? Of course if I were you I would have been more prepared. Love reading about your experiences at the Fort. Premium loops have no availability. I'm guessing it would be wiser to call and book versus online?

There are more full sites, maybe, a better chance o get in. I'd look online every time I could. I think that is better. I've booked online before while my husband was talking to WDW on the phone and told him no availability.

I was able to book 12/18-12/25, but then started discussing Summer. Thoughts of de winterizing, possibly driving thru snow, we talked ourselves out of Christmas for now, and rebooked for two more days than we planned in July!
Now to plan for a Summer week at the Fort! Very excited

We were just at Fort Wilderness. I did not book my reservation until Dec 12 for Dec 27th. I then waited and watched and got Dec 28th. When we were at The Fort. Asked for another day was told all sold out but the next day got email that we could stay another day. So be patient and watch... Good Luck

I booked our 2014 Christmas reservations last year in May by doing the piecing together thing. I think it took the course of a week or two checking online a few times every day to piece it together with two different levels of sites, then another week or so to find the same level. I was so relieved when we found out we were for certain not going to have to move (which was when we checked in at the Fort). You will have to stop in the front desk on the first day of each reservation, so that is a little bit of a drag, but not a big deal. You'll get a zillion sets of Magic Bands, so you can pick a few different colors.

And definitely do it online, there is NO WAY I would have called and sat on hold as often as I checked the web site for availability. You'll get really familiar with navigating the site!

We are doing the same thing. Trying to piece together dates. Does anyone know if my kids will be able to hang their Enos (hammocks) in the trees?

I just released a Dec.18-23 Premium site after finding a Premium site for our Nov. days. We really preferred to go around Thanksgiving. I hope somebody can use those days!

Just booked four nights from 12/27 - 12/31/15. Had pop up and full hook ups available. Try less days, I started with the 26th - Jan 1st, and just kept changing the days until some were available. Been trying almost every few days since January. Good luck.

You might want to try and call. I booked our first stay at the Fort (Dec 22-28) yesterday. I couldn't get any availability online but thought I would call about the dates. I booked it with no problems. In fact I could have moved the reservation a few days in either direction.
