Thanks Jen and everyone who prayed for the funeral of Vinny yesterday. The service went so well. He was a wonderful guy remembered for his humor, his ability to talk and to encourage and for the wonderful transformation that took place in his life that made Him on fire and consumed by His passion for Jesus.

I think most of Vinny's family and old friends were amazed at all that was said about his life transformation that took place in the last 13 years since he became a Christian. His funeral service was a wonderful testimony to the love and grace of Jesus Christ and to Vinny's unwavering faith to the very end. His hope was not in physical healing but in the matchless grace of Jesus and in the washing away of his sins through the shed blood of Jesus...fitting him to be in heaven today rejoicing in Jesus His Savior!!!!

The gospel message was clear. His burial and reception contained a mix of emotions but overall there was joy that Vinny is at home in heaven. His passion for God was contagious and throughout his entire illness he allowed God to touch countless lives for His glory. So much will be missed about this wonderful child of God who for reasons we don't understand was taken to heaven so young. It is uncertain as to what will happen with his wife and kids and what his family will do now, (so many decisions to be made) but God is in control and so many people want to help them.

When I shared at Vinny's funeral I read this (below) and I sang a duet (Trading My Sorrows) and God was in it all! Praise You, Jesus!

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey...

I asked for health, that I might do great things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things...

I asked for riches, that I might be happy.
I was given poverty, that I might be wise...

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God...

I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life.
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things...

I got nothing I asked for--but everything I hoped for.

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.

I am, among men, most richly blessed!!

Vinny had this hanging in the custodial closet at church (He worked part time as our custodian) and I found it there the day before his funeral. It was like he left it to make sure that this sentiment was conveyed. Thank you so much for your prayers. The family will be needing them. Pray for his family to be touched by God and that this tragedy will draw them to Him and to His saving grace. Pray for his wife and daughters that God will be a father and husband to them now and that WE will minister to them as they need it. Thanks everybody!

Hey Jill I'm so glad that Vinny's funeral turned out to be such a blessing, just as his life was. Thank you for sharing that poem - so powerful!

We are all signature-less for an indisclosed amount of time while the powers that be are trying to get the boards to run faster/smoother. My understanding is that our signatures will be back! lol

Hi Everyone!

Well I got my test results back from the test I took yesterday and I did not do so hot. I got to class today about a half an hour early, so I could do some studying for the test we had today. Then the teacher came up to me and talked to me about the test that I took yesterday and showed me what I got wrong. And she told me that if I did not pass today's test I would fail the class and be kicked out. Well let me tell you that made me even more nervous and worried about the test I had to take today!.

Well guess what I passed my test today, so I can go on!!!!!!!!! We had 50 questions and I got 8 wrong. The teacher said we could only get 15 or less wrong to pass and to be able to go on.

And I just want to thank all of you again for all your prayers.

Thanks Jen! I think I might need your help! I don't get how you read one of those temp. thermonmeter's. And I don't get the weight scales either. I sure have a lot to learn and study! Thanks jen for any help you can give me! Oh, jen I forgot to tell you somthing. We learend how to make a bed with someone in it today! It was not as bad as I thought it would be, but I still need to work on it some more.

Thank you for all of your prayers and for having faith in me. It's hard to believe that next thrusday is the last day of class and when we have our big test, that's like a 150 questions! But I am not going to stress about it( that's easier said then done), when the test comes I will just do the best I can. Hey ya'll! I kinda had a little meltdown today...BUT, God sent me a word and a vision in the form of a wonderful friend who cares and listens when the Lord says to speak and he gave me words and an embrace from another messenger of His!!!!

I am so blessed to be His child and to be standing where His mercies are flowing. The river of life and abundance that flows from His throne is pouring over me and He is calling me to be more than refreshed there, but to bask in His presence and to lay down my burdens there!!!!

Sarah I am praying for you. I will be taking a class all week next week from Monday through Friday so I probably won't be able to get here to much next week. I'll be thinking of you while I'm in my class!

Michelle, how are you feeling? Praying for you! I'm taking a class onUsing Technology in teaching Writing. It will be pretty intense, but I should come away with all sorts of tools and resoureces I can use in the classroom. Thankfully I already know I will be teaching first graders and so I can taylor all of my projects to be useful for my kids this year!!

Hey, BTW, I have a praise...Danny had a swim meet tonight and he got a ribbon for taking first place in his heat for backstroke!! He was so proud. It was his first ribbon! He is not the fastest on the team but we are so pleased that this team stresses self improvement, team spirit and individual accomplishments! That's what kids' sports should be about!
