hi jilly,

you are so lucky to have an outlet for old tim ccm where you are.
i have so much of what you mentioned on vinyl. i want to get them onto cd's.

i have a few updates on some of the ones you mentioned:

leslie phillips now goes by the name of sam phillips and records secular music produced by her husband t-bone burnett. there is talk that she renounced her faith, but the way i understand it she has denounced her ccm recordings as propaganda and dogma and now she writes music that is anything but typical christian music.

chris christian bought a film and tv studio complex in the dallas area, which is not sure what it wants to be, movie studio tour attraction or actual working production studio. so it not very successful at either, the tour features props, sets and costumes from films and shows that had nothing to do with the studios or even the north texas area. but chris seems committed to make it work and produce films and tv shows there.

rez band is still involved in street ministry in one of the worst parts of chicago. the band has more or less evolved into the glenn kaiser band and still tours and records. the members not involved in gkb are in other ministry positions with churches or jesus people usa.

your list is just about the soundtrack of my life for about 10 years. they were wonderful times. a great source for the jesus music movement which i mentioned before is:

www.one-way.org/jesusmusic/index.html

this site has great links to most of all of the musicians of the jesus music movement, as well as history of the movement and sources for buying and trading music.

joy and peace to all!

may we all remember the fallen and the freedoms that they have given us. thank you all for your sacrifice.

The Center Of The Mark/ 4-Him

To love God, love people
That's the center of the mark
In this life some things are bound to change
But one thing remains the same
We all need love
Time goes by, it moves like a hurricane
And through all the wind and rain
We all need love
As this world just keeps on turnin' round and round
There are treasures to be found
If we just let compassion lead the way

CHORUS

Draw back your bow, let love go
Shoot straight for the heart
With all of you might, set your sight
Take aim from the start
To love God, love people
That's the center of the mark

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

The Message/ 4-Him

The fields are white and now the time has come
For there's a harvest, there is work left to be done
Lord here am I, I will be the one
I'm committed to the finish until the setting of the sun
Lord, I will be faithful in all I say and do

CHORUS

To live a love that never fails
To love my neighbor as myself
And to give till there is nothing left to give
To live a faith that never dies
To be crucified with Christ
Until all that lives through me
Is the message
I can't ignore what's right before my eyes
For all around this world is searching for a sign
Outside the door they're living in the night
And the light that lives within me is the hope
They long to find
So I must be faithful in all I say and do

CHORUS

BRIDGE

If we all work together
We can make this world a better place to live
We can make a difference if we try

CHORUS

CHORUS

Is the message
Is the message

Hey, Sarah :sunny:, Jen-:cat:, and pogo.

Sarah, I thought I'd finish out Center of the Mark for you...

Everyday through what is and is to come
When all has been said and done we all need love
So Jesus came
A gift from the heart of God
He gave us His life because we all need love
And the love that death could not keep in the grave
is alive in us today
So we must live to show the world the way

Draw back your bow, let love go
Shoot straight for the heart
With all of you might, set your sight
Take aim from the start
To love God, love people
That's the center of the mark

For the world is the target and the arrow is the cross
As we set out on this journey
Let's obey the call from the heart of God
Let us love at any cost!

Draw back your bow, let love go
Shoot straight for the heart
With all of you might, set your sight
Take aim from the start
To love God, love people
That's the center of the mark

Love that song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jilly :fish: ! And thank you for finish out my song for me. Please check your PM, I sent you a new one. I hope you got it.

"God Bless Everyone On This Memorial Day"

Take Me As I Am/ FFH

The sun is sinking low and my mind wanders to You
And all the goodness that You gave when
You gave your life away
The sun is sinking low and I am thinking of You
And the price You paid just to let me live,
Let me live another day
In this world you made
Enjoying it all the way, and I say...

(Chorus)

Take me, take me as I am
Show me, show me what I am to be
Write for me, write for me the melody
Take me as I am

The sun is sinking low and I am on my kness again
Saying that I'll go wherever you want me to go
The sun is sinking low and
I kneel beside my bed again
Thank you for today, praying for tomorrow
That you'll hold my hand
I can't make it all alone, so I say...

(Repeat Chorus 2x)

Where do I go?
Back on my knees again!!

::yes::

In My Arms Again/ Michael W. Smith

It was written in the stars
On the pages of my heart
Oh, that someday I would find
The love I feel for you tonight

On the ocean of our dreams
Like a prayer you came to me
And the longing that had been
Found its ending in your eyes
And I am missing you tonight

Chorus:
I really want to see you
I really want to touch you
If only I could hold you...in my arms again
I really want to reach you
Forever to be with you
If only I could hold you...in my arms again

Across the waves, arcoss the sea
Separating you from me
Here's a promise and it's mine
I will love you for all time
And I'm wishing you were here tonight

Hey guys! I'm back from Acadia Nat. Park....and totally "pooped"!

Jill, glad you popped in to say hi! You mentioned some of the "oldies"...I don't know many of them, but I do know Michael Card. Here's one of his songs that I like.

Love Crucified Arose/Michael Card

Long ago He blessed the earth
Born older than the years
And in the stall the cross He saw
Through the first of many tears
A life of homeless wandering
Cast out in sorrow's way
The Shepherd seeking for the lost
His life the price He paid

Chorus
Love crucified arose
The risen One in splendor
Jehovah's sole Defender
Has won the victory
Love crucified arose
And the grave became a place of hope
For the heart that sin and sorrow broke
Is beating once again

Throughout Your life You've felt the weight
Of what You'd come to give
To drink for us that crimson cup
So we might really live
At last the time love and die
The dark appointed day
That one forsaken moment when
Your Father turned His face away
Repeat Chorus

When exactly is this Hershey get together? Don't think I could swing it.....man I hate to miss a BBQ with Jill and Dan...they make quite the feast!!!!!:D

Michelle...glad your weekend was fun and now you're back safe and sound!

There is more I would post and reply to, but I am too tired to type:rolleyes:

Morning all. :)

I'm so sleepy! :o

Jilly!!! I'm so glad to see you! I hate that you have not been doing well. I have never had a problem with headaches but I know it must be just terrible for those who do. I'm praying for you! I have a lot of records/cassettes of the artists that you listed, good stuff! I'm sorry about posting the you know what...just wanted to see if you would come out! :p I also love that First Call song that you posted. ::yes::

Stampy! Did you have a nice trip? That is a great song from Michael Card too!

Sarah :sunny:, I'm glad you had a good time with your friend. Great songs you have been singing. :)

I will try to write a trip report when I get home tonight and I will post a link here when it's done.

June 1, 2004

"Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us." Psalms 90:17

People will wonder why I look so good today. ;)

Hey Everyone!

Tasha, welcome back! I hope you are able to get some rest. How was your trip?

princess: Sis, I hope work goes by fast for you, so you can go home and get some rest. And I will look forward to seeing you trip report!

I can't believe it's already June 1st today!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hey everyone, good to see you all! Just so ya know, we are planning to be at Hershey Park on June 26th (late night preview) and June 27th. If any one cares to meet, great, if not, we can try for another time! God bless you all, my brothers and sisters in Christ!

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Still doing things around the house, finishing packing and cleaning. I just wanted to say to everyone

O magnify the Lord with me and let US exalt his name together

Be blessed

Hi all! :wave2:

Sheree! Good to see you! Thank you so much for "blessing" us all! I love that scripture! I'll be praying for you as you are doing all of that packing! ::yes::

Tasha! So glad your trip went well. Tell us all about it when you have a chance! I guess you can now rest up from your vacation! :hyper:
In the oldies I named I forgot to list Silverwind and Second Chapter of Acts...I'm sure I missed some others too. I love that Michael Card song, as I do most of his stuff! I'm sorry you and more of us can't do a PA meet! :( PA is a great, beautiful stae and so centrally located...and where I'm located...well I wouldn't want to be any further away from the beach! :teeth:

Jeanne,:cloud9: guess where I was today!!!! My DS had a trip to Harrisburg and I was a chaperone...we stopped into Hershey's Chocolate World (factory tour) on the way back! Have you ever been there or to Hershey Park, or is this your first trip? (Today was a cool trip because we got to go on a coach bus! COMFY! We toured the state capitol and Pennsylvania Museum). Anyway, we're only about 1 & 3/4 hours from Hershey so we may be able to come out and possibly do lunch or dinner on the 26th. How's that sound? I have a brother who lives close to Hershey so I may incorporate a visit with him at the same time. Are you only going to be there for the weekend? I don't want to take all of your vacation time away from you. Let me know what you think!
OH! ALSO, JEANNE...Casting Crowns has a song on it called Praise You With the Dance and right in the middle of the song they have like a fiddle part that plays real fast the tune to The Lord of the Dance!!!! :bounce: Have you ever head it??? It is so cool and I thought of you when I heard it!!::yes:: :Pinkbounc

princess: Michelle, looking forward to your trip report!! ::yes::
RE: the headaches...I guess we all have something to deal with. I actually got a headache on the way to Harrisburg today. I kind of expected I woiuld as they have been coming pretty much, daily. Fortunately it was a long bus ride and I had my medicine with me. I was OK by the time we got to Harrisburg. ;) Just tired out from the medicine and from the headache itself. I am just so thankful to live in the age of modern medicine. I can't imagine not having something to relieve the pain. THE MAJORITY of the time I am able to get relief with the medicine, so for that I am thankful. How have you been feeling? Sleeping ok?

:sunny: !! I can't believe how quickly the months are passing by either! I'm not familiar with that MWS song you posted. What project was that from?

:grouphug: to all and a blessed evening!!!!

Hi there!
This is my first trip to Hershey since I was a kid, and the first time for DH and the kids. We will be arriving on the 26th, and will be doing the preview plan, but we could probably do dinner that night. We will only be in the park on that evening and the 27th, but will be in the area until the 30th. I hope we can work something out! Thanks for telling me about that song, I will have to look into it. I just love that song!
Here is the one you were talking about, and I am imagining the Lord of the Dance music in the middle:

I will sing to the Lord
And I will lift my voice
For You have heard my cry

I will sing to the Lord
And I will lift my hands
For You have brought me out of the pit
For You have brought me out of the pit

Chorus:
And I'll sing glory, hallelujah
I lift Your name on high
And I'll sing holy, 'cause You're worthy
I'll praise You with the dance

princess: Feel better soon!

Some old Petra...

Run for the Prize/Petra
Words and music by Bob Hartman

Alone on the sidelines without any guidelines
You've been running to fast with no place to go
You've got no direction, you gotta set your affection
On the things that can bring you right back in the flow

You got to run for the prize
Don't look over your shoulder
Gotta keep your eyes
On the straight and narrow
Gotta run for the prize
There's no time to be wandering
Gotta make your way
Just as straight as an arrow

You may be weary, but you gotta be leary
When somebody says that you will never finish the race
They can discourage but don't lose your courage
You gotta narrow the margin and keep up the pace

You got to run for the prize
Don't look over your shoulder
Gotta keep your eyes
On the straight and narrow
Gotta run for the prize
There's no time to be wandering
Gotta make your way
Just as straight as an arrow

Gotta lay aside every weight and run the race that's before us
If we grow weary and faint, the Father He will restore us

You got to run for the prize
Don't look over your shoulder
Gotta keep your eyes
On the straight and narrow
Gotta run for the prize
There's no time to be wandering
Gotta make your way
Just as straight as an arrow

Hey guys!

Sheree', good to see you, when is the big move? :)

Jeanne, I'm not really feeling bad right now, just worn out and super tired from the weekend away. The fibromyalgia makes stuff like that a little rough for me and it takes a few days to recover from all the fun. LOL

Jilly, I slept really well the two nights we were at the hotel! LOL Can't imagine why... One night we didn't go back the room till 3am so that might have had something to do with it. I lost my sleeping buddy though. :( I took my stuffed Stitch to the hotel with me and someone stole him from our room. :( He was a birthday present too so that made me really sad. Even if the hotel sends me the money to replace him it's not the same.

I put up the first day of my trip report if anyone wants to read it. The Stitch tragedy didn't hit until later the 2nd day so this one is pretty happy to read. Michelle's Trip Report ~ Day One
