Happy Birthday Jill!!!!!

:thewave:
Hope your family treats you like a queen today!!
Trip report: We really did have a good time in spite of poor Logan's raging hormones (Misty was at the peak of her "heat" cycle starting Sun.!). We arrived on Fri. night and had probs getting the camper set up, but it was ok. Sat. we went up Cadillac Mtn. - it was sunny, but windy. And then did some shopping in Bar Harbor. The dogs attracted lots of attention, which was good since that's why we took Logan - he needs to get used to strangers. Spencer made some friends to play catch with at the campground and we had a fire and Kylie made s'mores. It was very windy all weekend, so here I was in my winter coat drinking hot cocoa by the campfire roasting marshmallows

! Sun. we drove back to the mainland to Schoodic Peninsula....it's part of the park and the surf is quite rough usually. The waves hit the rocky shore and shoot up and make a spray....it has become a fave of ours. On the way back we saw a porcipine (SP?) waddle off into the woods. Logan's brain was pretty scrambled by then since Misty smelled irresistable and we went for a 3 mile hike to keep his brain occupied! There is a pretty pond lined with trees and surrounded by hills with a trail around it that we went on. That was nice, but we are all sore now 'cause we ran the dogs a good part of the way to tire them out so they would settle down while we went to Pirate's Cove for a game of mini-golf. We had another fire, more s'mores, played more pass(both baseball and football).
Mon. we all got up at 3:30 AM to drive up the mountain to see the sunrise...the opening line from this hymn ran thru my head (as we stood shivering in the brutal wind!)
When morning gilds the skies my heart awaking cries:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer, to Jesus I repair:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When you begin the day, O never fail to say,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
And at your work rejoice, to sing with heart and voice,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Wheneer the sweet church bell peals over hill and dell,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
O hark to what it sings, as joyously it rings,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
My tongue shall never tire of chanting with the choir,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
This song of sacred joy, it never seems to cloy,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Or fades my earthly bliss? My comfort still is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
To God, the Word, on high, the host of angels cry,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let mortals, too, upraise their voice in hymns of praise,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this at meals your grace, in every time and place;
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this, when day is past, of all your thoughts the last
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When mirth for music longs, this is my song of songs:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evening shadows fall, this rings my curfew call,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When sleep her balm denies, my silent spirit sighs,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evil thoughts molest, with this I shield my breast,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The night becomes as day when from the heart we say:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear when this sweet chant they hear:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
No lovelier antiphon in all high heavn is known
Than, Jesus Christ be praised!
There to the eternal Word the eternal psalm is heard:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let all the earth around ring joyous with the sound:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
In heavens eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Sing, suns and stars of space, sing, ye that see His face,
Sing, Jesus Christ be praised!
Gods whole creation oer, for aye and evermore
Shall Jesus Christ be praised!
In heavens eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let earth, and sea and sky from depth to height reply,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Sing this eternal song through all the ages long:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

All in all a great weekend in a beautiful spot. At the visitors center they play a video on the part called "The Gift of Acadia" that says Acadia is a gift created by nature....I say it is a gift created by God, the Creator and the Giver of good gifts! When I get pix back I'll try to post some...I have trouble getting them to work here!
Michelle, sounds like your trip was mostly fun....poor Stitch!
Jill, that field trip sounds WAY better than the one I'm going on...oh well. Glad you have meds to help your headaches. I get migraines on a monthly basis....not fun! Mine get bad enough usually that it upsets my stomach too....ugh!
Hi to Jeanne and Sarah and Jen and everyone else!
