The river of God
Sets our feet to dancing
The river of God
Fills our hearts with cheer
The river of God
Fills our mouths with laughter
And we rejoice for
The river is here

Lead Me to the Water/Bryan Duncan

Between the divide, there is a river.
The water is clear and pure as driven snow.
It flows from a spring that wells forever,
Enriching the world beneath God Almighty's throne.
And though the masses won't believe it,
If it's there it's not too far to go.

Lead me to the water that can wash my heart clean,
Replenish my spirit.
Lead me to the water, the crystaline water,
And let me start over.
In the springs of living water, let each new day begin.

They're standing their ground out in the desert.
Wasting away, but not thirsty anymore.
You're taking a chance against the current;
Old habits will stand and they'll curse you from the shore.
But I'm sure I wanna chance it,
And the time has come, so let me go.

Lead me to the water that can wash my heart clean,
Replenish my spirit.
Lead me to the water, the crystaline water,
And let me start over.
In the springs of living water, let each new day begin.
In the springs of living water, let each new day begin.

Aaaahhh!

You shall go out with joy
And be led forth with peace
The mountains and the hills with break forth before you
There'll be shouts of joy
And all the trees of the field
Will clap, will clap their hands

And all the trees of the field will clap their hands
The trees of the field will clap their hands
The trees of the field will clap their hands
While you go out with joy!</Font>

Isaiah 55:10-13
"The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.
It is the same with My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!
Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where briers grew, myrtles will sprout up. This miracle will bring great honor to the Lord's name; it will be an everlasting sign of his power and love."

Holy, Holy, Holy
Words: Reginald Heber

Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning
our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy,
merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy!
All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns
around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim
falling down before Thee,
Who was, and is,
and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy!
though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy;
there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in power,
in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy Name,
in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy;
merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons,
blessèd Trinity!

Hi Marcie! I love that song :)

Thanks JC2. We sang it in bible study the other day. The sound of 500 women singing that is beautiful.

 500 women??!!? You have 500 women in your Bible study! Wow, that must be awesome!! :) :)

The following is not me preaching to you...just my feelings today and my response to the nudge of God on my heart and attitude.

I so enjoy praising God for the wonder of His creation. Last night I was struck by the importance God has placed on his most beloved creation, WE, who were created in His image and for whom He gave His only Son. When I am truly praising Him, I am always drawn back to God's desire to see His most precious creation loving, serving and witnessing to one another. We are called to be love for even the most difficult and despicable person because he/she is also God's beloved creation and God desires that all may know Him. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by the needs of people. Often, my desires are not His. I am usually focused inward and crying out about my own pain. I have to ask myself if I am ignoring the needs of humanity and especially their greatest need... to know God. With His help and power alone, He can enable me to act on the needs of others and ultimately bring glory to Him.

When we praise Him we should remember that our praises are received and He graciously sends back to us an out-pouring of His Holy Spirit who, if we allow, drives us to love at any cost.

Jesus LIVED God's desire for us everyday and the evidence was the sacrificial, outpouring of HIMSELF to others in ALL He did. He never looked away. Jesus' life, death, and resurrection for US were proof of His Oneness with God. Discipleship requires that "if my desire is Him, then my desire is people".

I pray today, with His strength and power, to be one with Him, to love as He did and to not look away.

Don't Look Away/ Bryan Duncan

A quiet and peaceful moonlit night
Though I'm tired, I'm sleepless
Troubled inside, my eyes open wide
Uncommon pain in common places
There in a dozen faces
All calling my name
And their hands reach for mine
And they're cryin'

(Don't look away)
See how I've been wounded
(Don't turn your face)
See my face as your own
(Don't look away)
Put your arms around me
Don't go closing your eyes
To the truth as you pray

I'm face to face with the anger inside me
The face of love is hiding
Can't give it away
I'm too hurt to say
I wish I was, I wish that I could be
The way You've always wanted
I'll give You my best
And I'll pray for the rest
I'm prayin'

(Don't look away)
See how I've been wounded
(Don't turn your face)
See my face as your own
(Don't look away)
Tenderness enfold me
I'm not closing my eyes
To the truth as I pray
Don't look away

We've nailed the hands and feet of a Savior
So blind to all that matters
But still He can see
And His voice reaches me
He's singing

(Don't look, don't look away)
No! Don't turn your face
(Don't look)
Don't look away
(Don't look away)
I'm not closing my eyes
(Don't look away)
See how I've been wounded
(Don't turn your face)
See my face as your own
(Don't look away)
Let tenderness enfold you
Don't go closing your eyes

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

JC2,

Yep our BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) class is at capacity. It's a very structured study and there are classes all over the world each studying the same verses each time we meet (once weekly). Last year the study was the life of Moses and this year the book of John. It's very structured with mandatory attendance and homework questions to be answered weekly. I'm not much into chit-chat so this is the perfect study for me.

Hemi-Mom

Beautiful thought.

Jilly, thank you so much. Here is another of those "coincidences" that I know are not "coincidences"

Last night I had my Philippians Bible Study Group and we focused on Chapter 2, vs. 1-11.

We talked about Wrong Attitudes: Selfish ambition, self-importance and self centeredness. Right Attitudes: (These are the attributes of Jesus Christ which we all need to strive to have) He let go of His natural status (demoted Himself) was determined and ambitious for US, not Himself. He let go of His social status--He, the King of kings and Lord of lords, "made himself nothing", he was social descending--this is the opposite of self-importance. He let go of his legal status--he humbled himself by giving up His right to life--FOR US!!

Most of all--"He became like us so that we might become like Him. He exchanged the position of highest on high for our deepest depth."

Many months ago, someone said to me, and this moved me to tears, that when God looks at us, He sees Jesus. His Son!! I felt so unworthy. Whenever I start to fall, which is daily, I remember this. I remember that God is looking at me, seeing His Son, loving me like His Son and I strive to be more like His Son.

Thank you Jilly for sharing and opening a new door. Thank God for His work through you!

It's all about His LOVE!

BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be the name of the Lord most high

Glory to the name of the Lord
Glory to the name of the Lord
Glory to the name of the Lord most high

The name of the Lord is
A strong tower
The righteous run into it
And they are saved

Holy is the name of the Lord

The righteous run into it
And they are saved

The righteous run into it

Marcie, that sounds like an awesome study you're involved with! I'm in a study with I think about 80 women and we're doing the book of Mark. We have a discussion time but I MOST enjoy the homework, (as hard as it is to do it sometimes...I'm always glad after the fact; I get so blessed by it), and the lecture/teaching time.

CRB, WOW!! There sure are NO coincidences! Backing up the Words God spoke to me with scripture from your study is God using YOU TOO, sis!

And might I add that in becoming like Him we are called to go to the deepest depth for those He loves!

THE MESSAGE/4HIM

The fields are white and now the time has come
For there's a harvest, there is work left to be done
Lord here am I, I will be the one
I'm committed to the finish
Until the setting of the sun
Lord, I will be faithful in all I say and do

To live a love that never fails
To love my neighbor as myself
And to give till there is nothing left to give
To live a faith that never dies
To be crucified with Christ
Until all that lives through me
Is the message

I can't ignore what's right before my eyes
For all around this world is searching for a sign
Outside the door they're living in the night
And the light that lives within me
Is the hope they long to find
So I must be faithful in all I say and do

To live a love that never fails
To love my neighbor as myself
And to give till there is nothing left to give
To live a faith that never dies
To be crucified with Christ
Until all that lives through me
Is the message

If we all will work together
We can make this world a better place to live
We can make a difference if we try

To live a love that never fails
To love my neighbor as myself
And to give till there is nothing left to give
To live a faith that never dies
To be crucified with Christ
Until all that lives through me
Is the message
