Hold Me
by Jamie Grace (featuring Toby Mac)

INTRO:
[TobyMac:]
(I love, I love, I love, I love the way You hold me) x 3
(I love, I love, I love, I love the way Ya, the way Ya)

VERSE 1:
I’ve had a long day, I just wanna relax
Don’t have time for my friends, no time to chit-chat
Problems at my job, wonderin’ what to do
I know I should be working but I’m thinking of You and
Just when I feel this crazy world is gonna bring me down
That’s when Your smile comes around

CHORUS:
Oh, I love the way You hold me, by my side You’ll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love the way You hold me, in Your arms I’ll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love You more than the words in my brain can express
I can’t imagine even loving You less
Lord, I love the way You hold me
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh whoa, I love the way You hold me
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh
[TobyMac]:
(I love, I love, I love, I love the way You hold me) x 3
(I love, I love, I love, I love the way Ya)

VERSE 2:
Well Ya, took my day and You flipped it around
Calmed the tidal wave and put my feet on the ground
Forever in my heart, always on my mind
It’s crazy how I think about You all of the time
And just when I think I’m ’bout to figure You out (figure You out)
You make me wanna sing and shout

(CHORUS)

BRIDGE:
I’m so grateful and thankful for all You’ve done
Wish I could tell You in a short story or poem
But, all I have is my voice and this guitar
And You have my heart

CHORUS 2:
Oh, I love the way You hold me, by my side You’ll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love the way You hold me, in Your arms I’ll always be
You take each and every day, every day, every day
Oh, I love the way You hold me, by my side You’ll always be
You make each and every day, oh-so-special
I love the way You hold me, in Your arms I’ll always be
You take each and every day, make it special in some way
I love You more than the words in my brain can express
I can’t imagine even loving You less
Lord, I love the way You hold me
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh, oh whoa, I love the way You hold me
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh oh, oh I love

Safe
by Phil Wickham

To the one whose dreams are falling all apart
And all you’re left with is a tired and broken heart
I can tell by your eyes you think you’re on your own
But you’re not alone

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging sea
Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet
With a love so strong and never let you go
No you’re not alone

You will be safe in His arms, you will be safe in His arms
‘Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart
This is the promise He made, He will be with you always
When everything is falling apart you will be safe in His arms

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you now to rise
So hear Him now He’s calling you home
You will never be alone

These are the hands that built the mountains
The hands that calm the sea
These are the arms that hold the heavens
They are holding you and me
These are the hands that healed the leper
Pulled the lame up to their feet
These are the arms that were nailed to a cross
To break our chains and set us free

Safe in His arms, safe in His arms
Safe in His arms
When everything is falling apart
You will be safe in His arms

Hi Everyone! Had NO idea there was a Christian Music thread on the Dis! So excited...I will definitely check back in from time to time. TLHB70 - I had no idea there was a new version of Magnificent Obsession...one of my favorite songs of all time. I saw SGC perform that song two years ago and wow. :thumbsup2 And the song "Hold Me" gets super-stuck in my head whenever I hear it...I don't love the song, but it's so catchy!

Yes, Hold Me is a catchy one.
SCC is probably my all-time favorite Christian singer. I try to go see him anytime he is in concert around my area. The last time I saw him here in concert was March 2008, just a couple of months before Maria was killed.
I just read Mary Beth's book over the summer. It is a good one.
Definitely check out SCC's new album, Re:Creation. It is wonderful!

Good morning friends.

We have been listening to Christmas music around our house for the last week or so. I love that my daughters enjoy listening to it as much as I do! :goodvibes I just purchased the new Christmas CD by Keith and Kristyn Getty. It is great! I thought I would share a few songs here.

O Savior of Our Fallen Race

Original Lyrics: Christe Redemptor Omnium, Latin office hymn, circa 6th Century. Translated by Gilbert E. Doan, Jr. (1930-), Adapted by Kristyn Getty.

Music: Keith Getty

O Savior of our fallen race,

O Brightness of the Father’s face,

O Son who shared the Father’s might

Before the world knew day or night,

O Jesus, very Light of light,

Our constant star in sin’s deep night:

Now hear the prayers Your people pray

Throughout the world this holy day.

Remind us Lord of life and grace

How once, to save our fallen race,

You put our human vesture on

And came to us as Mary’s son.

Today, as year by year its light

Brings to our world a promise bright

One precious truth outshines the sun:

Salvation comes from You alone.

For from the Father’s throne You came,

His banished children to reclaim;

And earth and sea and sky revere

The love of Him who sent You here.

And we are jubilant today,

For You have washed our guilt away.

O hear the glad new song we sing

On this, the birth of Christ our King!

O Savior of our fallen race,

The world will see Your radiant face

For You who came to us before

Will come again and all restore.

Let songs of praise Your name adorn,

O Christ, Redeemer, virgin-born

Whom with the Father we adore

And Holy Spirit evermore. Alleluia!

Jesus Joy of the Highest Heaven (A Children's Carol)
Keith Getty and Kristyn Getty

Jesus, joy of the highest heaven,

Born as a little baby

Under a wondrous star.

Like us, crying he takes His first breath

Held by His mother, helpless

Close to her beating heart.

Jesus, laid in a lowly manger,

Facing a world of dangers,

Come to turn me a stranger

Into a child of God.

Jesus, King of the highest heaven

Learning to take His first steps,

That He might bring us life.

Like us, knowing our smiles and sorrows,

He showed the way to follow,

A way that is true and right.

Jesus, take away every darkness,

Steady my simple footsteps

That I might in your goodness

Live as a child of God.

one more for today............

How Suddenly A Baby Cries
Music by Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty and Fionán de Barra. Lyrics by Kristyn Getty.

How suddenly a baby cries and all forever change

As shepherds leave the angel song to find this holy place,

Where in her young and trembling arms a virgin holds her Son

And in this Child of breath divine our Light has finally come.

She ponders how the Magi kneel before Emmanuel.

With gold and frankincense and myrrh Christ's sacrifice they tell.

A dream would help them flee a king whose pride would cruelly destroy.

As mothers weep God's mercy meets the hunger for His joy.

What wonder still that Anna filled with praise should bless the Lord;

Her aging eyes now looking on the Savior of the world.

For night and day her prayers had filled the temple of our God.

Her heart could tell His saving hand within this gift of love.

Hear Simeon who had waited long draw near to hold the child

To speak of Him who would reveal the many thoughts we hide:

That hearts would rise to know His grace but many fall away;

A sword would pierce His mother's soul upon redemption day.

How suddenly a baby cried and all forever changed.

Through history soul by soul have come to find His healing grace.

He filled my troubled heart with peace, with hope of endless worth.

My voice will join the song of praise that tells Messiah's birth.

Here is another from the Gettys.....

Fullness of Grace
by Keith and Kristyn Getty

Fullness of grace in man's human frailty;

This is the wonder of Jesus.

Laying aside His power and glory

Humbly He entered our world.

Chose the path of meanest worth;

Scandal of a virgin's birth.

Born in a stable cold and rejected;

Here lies the hope of the world.

Fullness of grace the love of the Father

Shown in the face of Jesus.

Stooping to bear the weight of humanity;

Walking the Calvary road.

Christ the holy Innocent,

Took our sin and punishment.

Fullness of God, despised and rejected;

Crushed for the sins of the world.

Fullness of hope in Christ we had longed for;

Promise of God in Jesus.

Through His obedience we are forgiven,

Opening the floodgates of heaven.

All our hope and dreams we bring

Gladly as an offering.

Fullness of life and joy unspeakable;

God's gift in love to the world.

How Could I Ask For More
by Cindy Morgan

There's nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon
Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon
Catching fireflies at night
Building castles in the sand
Kissing Mama's face goodnight
Holding Daddy's hand
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more

Running barefoot through the grass
A little hide and go seek
Being so in love, that you can hardly eat
Dancing in the dark, when there's no one else around
Being bundled 'neath the covers, watching snow
Fall to the ground
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more

So many things I thought would bring me happiness
Some dreams that are realities today
Such an irony the things that mean the most to me
Are the memories that I've made along the way

So if there's anything I've learned
From this journey I am on
Simple truths will keep you going
Simple love will keep you strong
Cause there are questions without answers
Flames that never die
Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise
So thank you Lord, oh thank you Lord
How could I ask for more

Thank You
by The Katinas

Just a little while longer I wanna pray
Can't get You off my mind so I say
Thank You Lord, just for loving me
Many times I do forget
Every need that You have met
Oh thank You Lord, I know You're showing me
You are there when I am down and out
You're holding me, Your love is so amazing
Oh it changed me

Chorus
Here I am with all I have raise my hands to worship you
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you
for everything for who you are
you covered me you touched my heart
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you

Verse 2

I could have died in my sin but you saved me
I didnt have any hope at all you gave me peace divine
and strength to carry on
I should have been the one to pay
but instead you took my place amazing grace is more than just a song
even though I don't deserve your love for me
you looked beyond my faults and you showed me mercy

Chorus
Here I am with all I have raise my hands to worship you
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you
for everything for who you are
you covered me you touched my heart
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you

Lord we thank you for the sun
we thank you for the sun
Lord we thank you for the sun
Lord we thank you for the rain

Chorus
here I am with all I have raise my hands to worship you
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you
for everything for who you are
you covered me you touched my heart
I wanna say thank you, oh thank you

**Awesome video. It is the group performing it on stage.

The video linked above has the opening verse cut out, so here is a video link for the whole song. (not a live performance, though)

Big Daddy Weave - I'll Be Brave this Christmas

Dear Daddy, I missed you today
When Momma unpacked our old Christmas tree
And that sweet angel never looked so good on top
But my heart felt sad when you weren't there to lift me

It's been a while since you went off to fight the war
So this year it won't be presents I'll be wishing for

I'll be brave this Christmas
While you're still far away
And I'll kneel beside my bed each night
Praying Jesus keeps you safe

'Cause I'm so proud of you, I hope you come home soon
But until you do, I'll be brave this Christmas

I see bright colors light up the Wilson's house
While rockets flash across your evening sky
And we sing carols, ooh, all over town
While you're living out the cost of peace on earth tonight

But if another little boy can grow up just like me
Living in a land that's safe and free
I'll be brave this Christmas
While you're still far away
And I'll kneel beside my bed each night
Praying Jesus keeps you safe

'Cause I'm so proud of you, I hope you come home soon
But until you do, I'll be brave this Christmas

Freedom isn't free, there's a price to pay when duty calls
It takes sacrifice from us all

So I'll be brave this Christmas
While you're still far away
And I'll kneel beside my bed each night
Praying Jesus keeps you safe

'Cause we're all so proud of you and I hope you come home soon
But until you do, I'll be brave this Christmas

Ooh, this Christmas, I'll be brave

Just be forewarned they are all Christian Metal and Hardcore bands....So if you want to start soft, start with:

Narnia
Jesus Joshua 24:15
Theocracy
Eden's Way

They are more Power Metal or Heavy Metal/Hard Rock

Most of the other bands I listed are Hardcore or Metalcore which means unclean vocals :goodvibes
