Christian Music Thread

I just received an email (forwarded) with the following message:

Here's the story behind the song:
While at the mall a couple of years ago, my then four year old
nephew, Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, "where's the line to see Jesus"?
My sister mentioned this to my dad, who immediately became inspired and jotted words down to a song in just a few minutes. After putting music to the words, and doing a quick recording at home, he received a great response from friends.

He sent the song off to Nashville without much response, except for a Christian song writer who suggested adding a bridge at the end of the first chorus. My dad then asked if I wanted to record the song to see what we could do with it. I listened to the song, made a few changes to the words tomake it flow better, and we headed to Shock City Studios.

It was at the studio where Chris, owner and producer, rewrote the 2nd verse and part of the chorus... with goose-bumps and emotions high, we were all hopeful and felt like we had something special. The demo was recorded in just under 2 hours and sent off again to Nashville ... still no response.

Then 2 weeks before Christmas last year, my cousins Greg and Robbie decided to do a video to see what we could accomplish on YouTube. The first day we had 3000 hits and it soared from there.

We received e-mails, phone calls, Facebook messages from people all over asking for the music, CD's, iTunes, anything... we had nothin'. After a couple of meetings with Chris following
the amazing response, we got serious. We headed back into the studio this past spring... this time with guitars, drums, bass, pianos, choirs... the real deal.... and here we are today.

Getting iTunes set up, a website put together, and loving that thousands upon thousands of Christians have come together... remembering the true meaning of Christmas. Out of the mouths of babes come profound truths that many adults cannot understand. Hopefully Spencer's observation will cause people all over to reflect on the love of Jesus, and that one day we will all stand in line to see Him.

We are most thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this chance to share our music with you.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I will post the lyrics in my next post........

Where's the Line to See Jesus

Christmas time was approaching
Snow was starting to fall
Shoppers choosing their presents
People filling the mall

Children waiting for Santa
With excitement and glee
A little boy tugged my sweater
Looked up and asked me

Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday
Why don't we see Him more?

As I stood in amazement
At this message profound
I looked down to thank him
He was no where around

The little boy at the mall
Might as well have had wings
As the tears filled my eyes
Thought I heard him sing

Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday
Why don't we see Him more?

Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me
Santa Claus brought me presents
But Christ gave His life for me

In the blink of an eye
At the sound of His trump
We'll all stand in line at His throne
Every knee shall bow down
Every tongue will confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord

(Repeat Chorus)

Where's the line?
Where's the line?
Where's the line for the Lord?

Wow -- Powerful song. First time I've heard it. Posted it to FB so it will bless others too. Thank you!

Where I Belong
by Building 429

Sometimes it feels like I'm watching from the outside
Sometimes it feels like I'm breathing but am I alive
I will keep searching for answers that aren't here to find

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

So when the walls come falling down on me
And when I'm lost in the current of a raging sea
I have this blessed assurance holding me.

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

When the earth shakes I wanna be found in You
When the lights fade I wanna be found in You

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

All I know is I'm not home yet
This is not where I belong
Take this world and give me Jesus
This is not where I belong

Where I belong, where I belong
Where I belong, where I belong

DS is becoming a huge Skillet fan (they rate 2nd only to Toby Mac) so we have listened to their CD a lot lately.

This is my favorite song off the Awake CD.

One Day Too Late - Skillet
Songwriters: Cooper, John; Howes, Brian;

Tick tock, hear the clock countdown
Wish the minute hand could be rewound
So much to do and so much I need to say
Will tomorrow be too late?

Feel the moment slip into the past
Like sand through an hourglass
In the madness, I guess, I just forget
To do all the things I said

Time passes by, never thought I'd wind up
One step behind, now I've made my mind up

Today, I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it

Today, I'm gonna love my enemies
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change, make the world a better place
'Cause tomorrow could be one day too late
One day too late, one day too late

Tick tock, hear my life pass by
I can't erase and I can't rewind
Of all the things I regret the most I do
Wish I'd spent more time with you

Here's my chance for a new beginning
I saved the best for a better ending
In the end I'll make it up to you
You'll see, you'll get the very best of me

Time passes by, never thought I'd wind up
One step behind, now I've made my mind up

Today, I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it

Today, I'm gonna love my enemies
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change, make the world a better place
'Cause tomorrow could be one day too late

Your time is running out
You're never gonna get it back
So make the most of every moment
Stop saving the best for last

Today, I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it

Today, I'm gonna love my enemies
Reach out to somebody who needs me

One day too late, one day too late

I LOVE THIS SONG! Here is a link to the interview my DH did with John Cooper from Skillet. He's a really nice guy!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwvmWyF7tyI

Skillet was on tour with Toby Mac at the time. Since your DS is such a big Toby fan, here is the link for the interviews with Toby and Gabe. Gabe is one of the most laid back guys ever, super nice and very genuine!

FYI, I have seen A LOT of very very good bands in my years. A LOT of very good performers, and Skillet live is right up there. They are amazing. Here's a link to a good live performance video:

HEY METALIS! Fancy seeing you here, we're on a couple of threads together! FYI, there are some pretty good bands here in NC. I'll go back to see your previous post and see what you have listed. My good buddies Bloodline Severed just got signed recently and they have a really sturdy following. They are "not my cup of tea" but Corey Weaver (lead) is a good friend of mine and I'm happy they are doing well! PS - you are perfect for that post # LOL!!!

No problem! Our church is hosting Acquire the Fire this year so hopefully there will be more interviews to come. That was a great show, and Gabe is exactly who you see on camera! He's an amazing guy, they all are! I actually have his cell phone number and we have talked a couple of times.... too funny!

I can't believe I forgot to list Bloodline Severed in my previous post!!!! I actually own one of their albums "Visions Revealed". It's solid!!!! I love the riffing, nice and heavy the way I like it :rockband: LOVE the songs "Reborn" "Solemn Goodbye" and "Internal Battles With Eternal" on that album \m/

I'm pretty sure that I have seen them live, I've seen over 400 bands live since 1992 so sometimes it's hard to keep track. I think that they were on a bill with Thy Will Be Done a couple years ago in Rhode Island....But I could be very wrong, they all tend to blend together!!! :headache:

And yes I couldn't resist being that # post, I had a total Metalhead geek out :lmao:

YAY!!!! I am going to Facebook Corey right now and let him know that he has a fan in Mass! That's very random! I used to live in Raleigh and knew A LOT of the bands that came out that city in the late 80's (Corrosion of Conformity, Confessor, Ugly Americans....) It was weird to be sitting on Reid's couch and seeing him on MTV, and now Corey is the same way (except MTV doesn't' really show videos anymore )

This was sang by our worship leader yesterday morning - first time I had ever heard this song. Just beautiful. Moved me to tears and the Lord reminded me of all the friends who have been going to the throne this year on our behalf as my husband has been deployed.

Somebody's Praying - Ricky Skaggs

Somebody's prayin, I can feel it
Somebody's prayin' for me
Mighty hands are guiding me
To protect me from what I can't see
Lord I believe, Lord I believe
That somebody's prayin', for me.

Angels are watchin', I can feel it
Angels are watchin' over me
There's many miles ahead 'til I get home
Still I'm safely kept before your thrown
'Cause Lord I believe, Lord I believe
Your angels are watchin' over me.

Well, I've walked through barren wilderness
When my pillow was a stone
And I've been through the darkest caverns
Where no light had ever shown.
Still I went on 'cause there was someone
Who was down on their knees
And Lord. I thank you for those people
Prayin' all this time for me.

Somebody's prayin', I can feel it
Somebody's prayin' for me
Mighty hands are guiding me
To protect me from what I can't see
Lord I believe, Lord I believe
Somebod's prayin' for me...

This isn't our unit but found this on youtube and it's beautifully put together.

Enjoy!

Yes, I love this song!!!!! I posted it earlier on this thread. I remember searching for it on You Tube when I posted it here. The version I found to post (on page 21 on this thread) from You Tube was not quite as same as the original, but it is still awesome. The version on iTunes is not the original either, but it is still wonderful. God used that song to help me get through a really rough time back in 1992/1993. It was on radio regularly back then, and I listened to it over and over again. It helped me through the rough time, and I still love it today!
Thanks for reminding me of it today! :goodvibes

Wait and See
by Brandon Heath

I was born in Tennessee
Late July humidity
Doctor said I was lucky to be alive

I've been trouble since the day that I got here
Trouble till the day that I disappear
That'll be the day that I finally get it right

There is hope for me yet
Because God won't forget
All the plans he's made for me
I have to wait and see
He's not finished with me yet

I never really was that good in school
I talked too much, broke the rules
Teacher thought I was hopeless fool alright

I don't know how but I made it through
It's one of those things that you've gotta do
But I always had a knack for telling the truth

Chorus

Still wondering why I'm here
Still wrestling with my fear
But oh, He's up to something
And the farther on I go
I've seen enough to know
That I'm, not here for nothing
He's up to something

So now's my time to be a man
Follow my heart as far as I can
No telling where I'm ending up tonight
I never slow down or so it seems
But singing my heart it's one of my dreams
All I gotta do is hold on tight

Chorus

I just received this link from a family member in Louisiana. It is to a Mommy's Blog. Her son died last week. My heart is aching for this mom! I wanted to pass the story on so you can pray for her, for her family.

I suggest grabbing tissue before you open the link......especially before watching any of the videos on the video page.

Hey, just found this thread. One of my all time favorites by Audio Adrenaline:

My Father's House

I don't know where you lay your head
or where you call your home
I don't know where you eat your meals
or where you talk on the phone
I don't know if you got a cook
A butler or a maid
I don't know if you got a yard
With a hammock in the shade

I don't know if you got some shelter
Say a place to hide
I don't know if you live with friends
In whom you can confide
I don't know if you got a family
Say a mom or dad
I don't know if you feel love at all
But I bet you wish you had

Pre-Chorus
Come and go with me
To my Father's house
Come and go with me
To my Father's house

Chorus
It's a big big house
with lots and lots a room
A big big table
with lots and lots of food
A big big yard
where we can play football
A big big house
It's my Father's house

Ibidibidee bop bop bow whew! yeah!

All I know is a big ole house
With rooms for everyone
All I know is lots a land
Where we can play and run
All I know is you need love
And I've got a family
All I know is your all alone
So why not come with me?

I just heard a new one, and the lyrics are great!

All This Time
By Britt Nicole

I remember the moment
I remember the pain
I was only a girl
But I grew up that day
Tears were falling
I know You saw me

Hiding there in my bedroom
So alone
I was doing my best
Trying to be strong
No one to turn to
That's when I met You

All this time
From the first tear cry
To today's sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You've been walking with me all this time

Ever since that day
it's been clear to me
That no matter what comes
You will never leave
I know You're for me
And You're restoring

Every heartache and failure
Every broken dream
You're the God who sees
The God who rescued me
This is my story
This is my story

I hear these people asking me
How do I know what I believe?
Well I'm not the same me
And I saw the proof I need
I felt Love I felt Your grace
You stole my heart that day

Youve been walkin with me all this time

All this time
From the first tear cry
To today's sunrise
And every single moment between
You were there
You were always there
It was You and I
You've been walking with me all this time

Wow. It has been a long time since there has been a post.

I wanted to share this song. It is encouraging!

Life is Beautiful
by The Afters

Through the window
I see you waiting
You are smiling
Cause I'm coming
Your eyes are a story
An ocean of memories
Pictures of faces and places
And all of the things
That make us feel like we have it all

All of the times
That make us realize
We have it all
We have it all

Life is beautiful
Life is beautiful

Living and dying
Laughing or crying
If we have the whole world or have nothing
I know there are long nights
But we'll make it
With every sunrise comes a new light
And all of the things
That make us feel like we have it all

All of the times
That make us realize
We have it all
We have it all

Life is beautiful
Life is beautiful
Life is beautiful

A father's love
A wedding dance
New Year's dreams
A toast with friends
A soldier coming home from war
The faith the hope of so much more
A brand new life, a mother's prayer
Shooting stars, ocean air
A lover's kiss, and hard goodbyes
Fireworks, Christmas lights

These are things that make us feel alive
These are the times that make us realize

Life is beautiful
Life is beautiful
Life is beautiful

These are the times that make us realize

This song is where I'm at right now on this journey, love the lyrics so very much!

Josh Wilson - Fall Apart

Why in the world did I think I could
Only get to know you when my life was good
When everything just falls in place
The easiest thing is to give You praise

Now it all seems upside down

‘Cause my whole world is caving in
But I feel You now more than I did then
How can I come to the end of me
And somehow still have all I need
God, I want to know You more
Maybe this is how it starts
I find You when I fall apart

Blessed are the ones who understand
We’ve got nothing to bring but empty hands
Nothing to hide and nothing to prove
Our heartbreak brings us back to You

And it all seems upside down

‘Cause my whole world is caving in
But I feel You now more than I did then
How can I come to the end of me
And somehow still have all I need
God, I want to know You more
Maybe this is how it starts
I find You when I fall apart

I don’t know how long this will last
I’m praying for the pain to pass
But maybe this is the best thing that
Has ever happened to me

My whole world is caving in
But I feel You now more than I did then
How can I come to the end of me
And somehow still have all I need
God, I want to know You more
Maybe this is how it starts
I find You when
You will find me when I fall apart
