Choosing a View at Aulani

Hi All,
I am an enthusiastic new member, and I am planning a brief one night stay at Aulani while I fly from Australia back to the US via Hawaii this September. I have never stayed at Aulani and would like to know if anyone has advice on the differences in room type views.

I would like to have a view of the inside of the resort, as opposed to facing out towards the other resorts or parking lots. I don't care too much either way for an ocean view.

Would a "Poolside Gardens View Room" meet these requirements? I am guessing this means it would be an inside facing room on a lower floor? Would a Partial Ocean View Room be better or worse for what I am looking for?

Thanks for any help!

Greg

PS, Today has been a big Disney day for me, I joined the DIS Boards and D23!

I had a partial oceanview and I overlooked the ocean and the Marriott next door. We could also see the quiet pool and the spa was directly below us.

A poolside room would definitely face the interior of the resort.

An Island view or Standard view would most likely face outside. When we were there we had an Island view and a Standard view room. The Island view looked into the parking garage and the Standard view looked out onto the Island. Go figure.

Do you think a poolside view would be noisy? I would like poolside because I always like the active views of what is happening at the resort, like having a theme park view at the Grand Californian...

If your door is closed you cannot hear a thing, very soundproof. If open, yes, you will hear water, music, children but it is not overwhelming. Loved the poolview.

Thanks for that, I was thinking they would do it like they do at the Grand Californian and use those really heavy soundproof doors. I just enjoy the active view, where you can relax in your room and still feel a part of the action.
