Choose spring break over July!

Trying to avoid the heat and humidity this trip. Question is now I still can't decide where to stay. My last two visits we stayed at BC and Poly. Now with the new dining plan should I go with the two rooms at a value with dining or 1 room at a deluxe without dining. It will be around the same price. There will be myself, DH, DD12 ,DS4, and DN4. Eating in DW is always costly but can anyone who has attempted the dining plan during peak season with two 4year olds give me some advice on if it's worth it. Also I've never experienced a value, will it be crazy during peak season, or will I be better off with a deluxe. Considering garden wing at CR due to the price. My travel dates are 4/5-4/11. Do you mean one of the two Easter Weeks (if 2006, you will hit the frist couple days of the first week). If so be prepared for significantly larger crowds than you had in July unless you went July 4. We gave up the dining plans long ago because we did a comparison of what we actually spent on food and drink without it and with it and the actual cost without it ended up being significantly less than the extra charge that is built into the package for the dining plan. As to rooms, the deluxe resorts have nicer rooms and amenities and are generally closer to a park. However, there is a mental comfort issue. I, personally, would have a difficult time having all five in one hotel room, with one bathroom, and thus would take two connecting rooms over having only one room if that was my choice.

A few questions to ask yourself would be: how much time do you spend in the resort? do you want to use the boating?, room service?, at CR? or immenities not offered at a value that are offered at the deluxe? Pools > the cr pool may be colder due to the lake setting at spring break than the position of the values resorts pool between the buildings, if you plan to use them? Is transportation a big factor? Which park do you spend the majority of time at? 2 bathrooms is a real lifesafer some mornings . The dining plan with 3 kids is a good deal, but you spend alot of your day getting to meals and spending time in resturants if that fits with your schedule? Also be sure to have ALL you meals planned with ADR's beforehand you don't want to risk that, last august we heard many people c/o they could not get into a resturant to eat and use there plans.

2 rooms at a deluxe and go grocery shopping to save on food.

call me a snob, but no vaw would I stay at a disney value resort. They look ugly, and are way too far away, no matter how cheap they are.

IMO, I'd skip the dining plan and get 2 rooms at a moderate. The moderates are nice.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Decisions, Decisions! Honestly when we have stayed deluxe before, we never used the boats or room service. We mainly just lounged at the pools. We did use the full service restaurants, although not every night. I usually only make ADR's for 4 restaurants in a one week vacation. My main concern about the values and the moderates is comfort and noise levels. I need a little relaxation after the park, I am on vacation after all! I also hate double beds unless I could have one all to myself. ( not likely with my DS ). Two mod's might work but I hear they are very very spread out. I love WL but have never stayed due to the fact that they only hold 4.
