We will be going to the Beach Club for 5 nights September 10 through 15. We have made all of our ADR's except one. We will be going to MGM that day, but none of the MGM restaurants menus really appealed to us, so we think we will leave MGM and eat somewhere else.

Is there anywhere you could recommend?

Or are any of the MGM restaurants really good?

What is your favorite Boardwalk area restaurant? (We will be on the dining plan, so only 1 TS credit restaurants.)

How is Olivia's at OKW?

Thanks! Jennifer

Do you have a park hopper option? If so, I would say go over to an Epcot restaurant...le cellier. Otherwise, try Yachtsman Steakhouse or Spoodles. Or you could just take a bus from MGM to Poly and go to Ohana or Kona Cafe.

Thanks Minnie!

We are already eating at Le Cellier one night and restaurant Marrakesh one night, so I was trying to think of restaurants at resorts to try.

Last year we ate at Ohana and liked it, but I wanted to try something different this time. Kona's menu looks so good, but it just seems like there is no atmosphere there. But I do love the Polynesian, so I would have an excuse to go back. There's just so many good restaurants to choose from!

Take a look at my poll for the Kona Cafe (should be on the first page or
second page). Seems that over 90% of the people liked this place..

We are going to go there on 4-11 (first night)..

Since you will be at the Epcot resorts, I would recommend Spoodles. We got our best meal plan value from there for the 1 credit meals. (Yachtsman was great for the two credit meal). Brown Derby at MGM is quite good, but it is 2 credits. IMHO, the other MGM restaurants do not compare food and value wise to Spoodles. Our Spoodles bill for 3 meal credits was close to $200--all covered by the dining plan. We ate like kings there and do not hesitate to go even when we are not on the meal plan.

We do not eat at MGM either. We tried Brown Derby last year and had a horrid dinner there. In December we tried Spoodles and just loved it. We took the boat from MGM over to Boardwalk and had a very well served delicious meal.

Most everything there was served in large portions so we had no trouble sharing. The White chocolate orange cake was beyond delicious!

Last year we booked Hollywood & Vine with the Fantasmic! package, and I wasn't really expecting much but a typical buffet. However, BF and I were pleasantly surprised! The selection was very large, and the food was quite good. I would definitely go back again!

I'd take the boat to Spoodles. Yum Yum. If you're looking for quiet and romantic, that's not the place. But the food is really good and the portions are easily shared if you're on a budget. The exception is the shrimp appetizer. It's a very small portion and it's expensive. But it is very delicios. So if you're on the meal plan, go for it. If you're on the meal plan, you can load up. I ran up over $70 by myself for one credit.

We had a solid (though unspectacular) meal at H and V in MGM for the fantasmic package.

Thanks everyone! Spoodles it is! :goodvibes I wanted an evening just to hang out around the Boardwalk so that will work nicely. Thanks again.

As far as BW restaurants go, we like Spoodles, too.

Olivia's is also very good. MY DW and I have had both lunches and dinners there several times. The food is very good and the service friendly. It has a nice open, airy atmosphere wiith a Key West ambiance. There are both booths and tables.

Do you have kids? I know most people will disagree with me, but I was very happy with Sci-Fi because kids aren't picky about food and they just loved the experience.

Most people say that the food is disappointing. I didn't find it bad at all...it just wasn't mouth-watering like the food in most of the other Disney restaurants.

We were allowed to get milkshakes using the dining plan, which was nice. The milkshakes were all very good (we tried the chocolate, the cookies and cream, and the strawberry).

I ordered the Onion Rings appetizer and it was so big that between me and my two kids we couldn't finish it. My kids both got the cheese, fruit, and dip appetizer off of the kids menu. It came with two big cheddar cheese sticks, some sliced apples, and some grapes, plus a yogurt fruit dip.

For the main course I had the ribs. The weren't the best ribs I've had by any stretch of the imagination, but they weren't bad in any way. My son had the chicken breast with vegetable and potatoes off of the kid's menu. He said it was really good. My daughter just had the mac and cheese.

For dessert I had the cheesecake. It was very good. It was garnished with M&Ms and cracker jacks with caramel sauce on top. It looked really cool, but I made sure to pick around the cracker jacks...I love cheesecake and didn't think I'd like it mixed with caramel popcorn. My kid had ice cream sundaes for dessert and they looked good.

Sometimes I think the "experience" is worth more than the gourmet taste of the food and this place was definitely an experience. Some of the servers were on roller skates, the cars were fun to eat in, and my kids had a blast. I'd give the food a B- but there was plenty of it and the atmosphere really made up for the food.

Would I go back a second time if it was just adults? No. Would I go back a second time with kids? Absolutely.
