Hi
My aunt (36) and I (female-29) are taking her 3 and 6 yo. boys to WDW in Sept on the FTP. We cannot afford to upgrade. Would you choose WL woods view or CR - standard room. We understand CR standards have no balconies, so escaping during naptime would be hard, but they have the monorail which could make the choice. However we like WL theming and balconies. What would you choose? We need to book ASAP for the FTP, and are having a hard time deciding. Please convince me!
Thanks!!!

I would choose WL. I think the only advantage of Contemporary would be the monorail. At WL, you would have the large lobby where the adults could take turns going to during naptime. The kids could feed fish and ducks off the dock. You could take a hike over to Fort Wilderness to see the horses. WL has Cub's Den in case the adults want to go to a nicer dinner. WL does have kids activities planned on some afternoons.

I would choose the Contemporary because it has 2 pools, a huge arcade, playground, monorail and you can take the boat to Ft. Wilderness to go to the petting zoo, playground or campfires. My 2 year old daugther enjoyed feeding the ducks while we waited for boats. It's great to be able to walk to the MK because you can walk over in the morning to avoid the monorail stops at TTC, Polynesian and GF. You can take a quick monorail trip back to the CR from the MK (just one stop) or walk back to your room to avoid monorail crowds after parades and fireworks. My daughter really loved the water fountains in the pool and the "shooting water" around the pool.

I've only stayed in the tower which does have balconies but I thought the ground floors of the garden wings have patios? Here is a link to a bunch of pictures of the CR from Deb's site. Enjoy your vacation!

I to would choose the CR, the rooms are larger which would give more play room for the children. It also comes with the day bed if anyone needs (or wants) to sleep alone. The WL is beautiful and the lobby is spectacular, but I also love the CR. Just for the size of the rooms alone I would choose CR. Plus everything cinmell said :)

I would go with the WL. We went last month with our 2 year old and had a great time. Don't forget there is also a boat that goes to MK from WL. And I never had to fold up my stroller to take the boat - that is a plus in my book. The hidden springs pool (quiet pool) was great for my DD she loved it. The other pool was lots of fun too. I was very impressed with the resort. Have fun!

I just love the CR. We been there every year for the past 6 yrs. We stay in the towers, but the wing rooms are just as large, which give more room for the kids to play. Try & get a bottom floor so you can have the patio. The laundry rooms are in the wings too, which is a plus if your like me & do laundry. The arcade is the largest on property so the kiddies can play in there, The pools are nice and the playground is also another plus. Just remember after walking and walking and waiting on long lines in the MK, its so nice to know that your only a monorail ride away to your resort. The restaurants are great, the shops are sooooo nice and at night you can go up to the roof to see the fireworks. I'd stay with the CR, but then I'm bias. I'm sure you all would have fun no matter where you stay.

I would choose the CR as well - it is a great kids place and so close to the MK especially if you get the North Wing and are willing to walk over (about 10 minutes). Having said that the WL is great as well with the boat launch, lobby themeing etc.

Having stayed at both with my DS (3 1/2) I can say that you will not go wrong with either one

If you get a ground floor in the North Wing, you will have a patio

Thanks

I think that the CR is the way to go. Not that the WL isn't awesome - it is. I love the monorail to MK and the fact you can walk it if you want to. That is a great option no other resort offers. If you are planning to spend a lot of time at MK then seriously consider the CR. But if you do decide on WL - I know you will love it too. It is magnificent!!!! :)
