Choice of lens? What would you choose?

Right now I have the Canon XT.

I'm looking to get a ultra wide angle lens. Which of these would you suggest?
Or do you have something else in mind? Should I get something that could be used if I upgrade my camera?

Choices:

Suggestions?

After much research, I got the Tokina 11-16 a couple of months ago. I haven't had a chance to really put it through its paces yet, but am looking forward to taking it Disney on my next trip! If you haven't already been following it, check out this thread for some great examples of shots from the various ultra-wides.

I would get the Tokina 11-16 2.8 but it's been out of stock for some time

If you can be patient, you can get the Tokina. I chose that one because of the wide aperture (and because of all of WDWFigment's photos.....). I ordered and paid from B & H... and it arrived about 3 or 4 weeks later. If you decide to go that route, don't wait until they get them in to order. They might sell out on existing orders before it ever shows up on the site!

I was choosing between the Sigma and the Tamron myself (as well as a Sony badged 11-18)...comparing the two, I found the Tamron better suited to my needs - sharper in the right places, handles distortion well, great flare control, and is the next biggest aperture available from the Tokina at F3.5. The Tokina looks pretty nice too, but it wasn't available in my mount at the time. No regrets with the Tamron though - wonderful lens that I've used a lot, especially my last few Disney trips.

Here's my gallery of all photos taken with the Tamron 10-24...lots from Disney on the last few pages:

I think they're all pretty decent lenses - I'd have definitely shopped and tried out the Tokina had it been in my mount at that time...but I have enjoyed the Tamron quite too!

I had the Tokina for a while and really loved it- sold it only when I went to full frame.
