*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

4:00am!!!!!?????!!!! Chris and I are saying that sounds more like Vegas than Disney. And without a drop of alcohol? What are they thinking?!

I guess they push coffee at that hour.

I can't believe any Disney show would take place when NYC, Vegas, and LA clubs are closing. Seems odd.

It's after midnight on the East Coast. You know what that means?

3 days until Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished ordering a couple of cakes for our trip. I ordered a Mickey cake and a mini castle cake. The Mickey cake will be delivered to our room at the Poly on Monday. The mini castle cake is for my parents' 35th anniversary. They'll have it during dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the GF.
Tomorrow, I'm going to order the chocolate slipper dessert for our dinner at CRT. Yum!

I've been debating ordering a chocolate monorail for T at the CR. SingingMom voted against chocolate in the bazillion degree heat. What did I do? Hmmm you'll have to wait for the tr to find out :thumbsup2

Jenn, where or who do you call for the cake orders? We'll be at BC and wondering how to order something 'special', too? Also, I see you have been packed, how'd you manage to do that so early (3 weeks)? I always find I need to use some of my clothes...pull out of suitcase, wash, iron and pack again, if I were to do it so early on. Also, the 'new' stuff for trip only gets used for that week and then gets put away for the following year....but then it gets 'old' to wear again the following year....I am BAD! Then Sept kicks in NY and weather changes, so I cannot wear tanks/shorts, even if I wanted to. Yeah, I have been following your thread earlier....have you been to Target yet, EVERYTHING is back to school....YUCK hating getting up early for the kiddos to get them ready! Where'd the summer go? :sad1: Have a GREAT trip and can't wait to read all about it!!! :wizard: to the Family!

Chocolate + Disney Heat = Many Bathroom Visits :headache:

   It's not yet midnight here, but I'll still celebrate the 3 day dance with you.

:dance3: I can't wait!!!!!!!!

I ordered the cake from Disney's cake hotline. You just follow the prompts, which direct you to either a specific park or resort, and place your order.

I packed the things I knew I wouldn't use. Now, I just have to pack a few things.

I have been to Target. The back to school section was set up in July :headache: School ends in NY in June. I don't know why stores are pushing the back to school stuff. I don't want to look at any of it until I get back from Disney.

Chocolate + Disney Heat = Many Bathroom Visits :headache:

You do have a point.

We're at the 3 day mark and I'm so excited  It's so hard to focus on other things when Disney is just so close. After placing cake orders yesterday, I decided to make a last minute packing list. This list contains all of the things that can't be tossed into our bags until Friday night/Saturday morning.

Last Minute Packing List:

1. cell phone chargers
2. camera charger
3. camera
4. memory sticks
5. tweezers (never know when T will get a splinter!)
6. prescriptions
7. driver's license, debit, and credit cards. Also, I always carry my health insurance and prescription card. Oh and I cannot forget my AAA card. We got a AAA discount on the room at the CR and we have to show the card at check-in.
8. travel documents (I'd pack these sooner, but I like to check over everything.)
9. Flat iron ?

Today, I'm going to print out all of my ADRs and confirmation numbers. I'll also print out TGM's schedule of green days. I've already printed out the Touring Plans suggestions. Oh and I have to print out Steve Soares entertainment schedule.

I've also been working on our tip budget. Mom and I made a list of services that we'll tip for:
1. mousekeeping
2. bell services
3. Magical Express

Mom's getting change tomorrow. And I'll stop by the bank on Friday.

Here's what the rest of my week looks like:

Thursday: Eyebrow waxing at Exhale Spa, mani/pedi, hair appointment.
Dad leaves for Maryland to pick up T.

Friday: Go to the bank, call car service for Saturday morning pick up, Dad and T arrive from MD, hang out with everyone until bedtime. Ok, who am I kidding? I probably won't get much sleep and post my last ptr update on Friday night.

Saturday: 6:15 a.m. car service pick up. Once we get to the airport, we'll attach the ME tags, get boarding passes, check luggage, and head through security. Once that's done, we'll have breakfast and wait to board the plane. Hopefully, our flight will leave on time.

3 days? :faint: :hyper: :cool1: :woohoo: It brings back a myriad of emotions!!!!

I know what you mean! As excited as I am, it feels like it's not even real. I guess I won't fully believe I'm going to Disney until I'm actually on a plane, 30000 feet in the air :lmao:

Jenn...I'm so impressed with your OCD!!! You have everything down so perfectly. I think I will hire you upon your return to do my WDW planning :lmao: Tips...I didn't know we tip MExpress? hmmm..first time we will be on it. What do you plan to tip here? Also, packing outfits, did you do one per day? I ALWAYS overpack and come back with clothes untouched. Nowadays, with airlines charging for extra weight, I don't want to get caught doing that....we'll see:rolleyes1 Shoes, how many pairs may I ask will be travelling along with you  :rotfl:

HAVE FUN!!!

I put all the clothes out on the guest room bed a few weeks before - the "good summer stuff", "new stuff", and the strictly "travel stuff". (ponchos, fans, etc...) I keep a running list of what needs to go in my carry on, and what needs to be packed. But, we ALWAYS take too much. ;)

This trip I brought 3 pairs of Crocs and wore my Merrills on the plane. First time ever I that I only brought "sandals & flip flops" - NO closed shoe. Don't tell my mom! :goodvibes

Thanks! The OCD only effects Disney trips. I'm disorganized with everything else! We tipped the ME driver in January, but we also brought our luggage with us. This time, we're letting ME deliver our luggage.

And I overpack also. I pack lots of shirts and shorts. But I try not to make my suitcase too heavy. I do not want to pay the extra fees either!

As of right now, I'm still deciding on shoes. I'm bringing my Chuck Taylors and black Nike flip flops. I'm still deciding on the other shoes.

:lmao:

I HAVE to bring one pair of closed shoes. My mom thinks flip flops all day is a bad idea :lmao:

I am back! Have fun! Can't wait to hear more about it!

Welcome back!!!

Thanks!!! I can't wait to go! I'll take lots of pics for the tr.

Wow, Jenn, that's a great list! I don't think you have to worry about being underprepared. :goodvibes

Thanks! I have to write things down or I'll forget them.

9. Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
10. Space Mountain
