Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

I hope not either. From what I've read, the free dining offer brings guests to stay onsite rather than offsite. So there may be more people dining at the restaurants but park attendance is the same. At least that's what I want to hear and believe but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
That is what I am hoping for!

We have to decide between an ADR for 50's Prime Time or Sci-Fi for our family (kids ages 3-9) - I've never been to either. Which would you recommend for experience?

I'm looking at the fastpass availability for November so far, and the 17th is going to be busy at both MK and HS. Which is surprising. Either many don't realize they're closing early, or they think they'll be able to pack a lot in before they close. The 15th looks to be very busy too.

Either would be okay, I guess, depending on what your kids like. Scifi can be scary with monsters. A bigger family will be put at picnic tables and not cars. 50's they can yell at you or others which some kids (mine) hate. My kiddo (now 4.5 yo) ADORES H&V because she gets to see and dance with Sofia, Jake, and Doc. It's a very happy must-do experience (see pic?), so my druthers are there. The food is kinda meh in the Disney way at all 3 imvho. There's okay food at each, like Peanut butter pie is good at scifi but not worth a trip just for that.

Huh, this is interesting! Couldn't it be showing less availability just because there are less total fastpasses available because they're both party nights? Rather than indicating higher crowds? Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part - we'll be in MK on the 17th! ;)

Hmmm... The cars were definitely a draw for me. We are a party of 5, so would that mean no car?!?

I am trying to get H&V, but no luck so far....

This makes total sense! We're doing the party on the 17th and I'm not worried that it will be insanely crowded at all. I guess time will tell.

We're doing MK on the 17th as well! Maybe everyone is willing to give up hours because everyone says it's low crowd days on party days? I hope not! But that was my thinking!

I think for 5 you'll get a car. You can always tell them when you check in that you would prefer a car for your seating. Before I went I read on here that some people get seated in the back at the tables but when I checked in and told them I would like a car they said, "everyone with a reservation gets a car." That's not what I read on here, but that's what they told me in 2013. So take that for what it's worth!

I don't have kids but I have eaten at both restaurants and I would vote for Sci-Fi. It is darker and they do play old horror movie clips, but they are cornier than scary to me. But again, I don't have kids - LOL! Sci-Fi is just more unique to me than 50's Primetime.

Another question.... Reviews on CP breakfast vs. dinner? Which would you choose?

I've never been to CP for dinner but I did enjoy their breakfast and the character interaction.

Generally speaking, I only book buffets for breakfast. I think breakfast foods hold up to buffet style better than do lunch and dinner type foods. But that's just my preference.

I've been looking for a certain ressie for a couple months now. So far the only ones I've seen (if I have seen any at all) have popped up at times where I have other plans I can't change. So tonight, finally, the perfect time pops up and I click on it and go through all the steps and click the last button and I get a "we're sorry" error. I've never had an error that far in the process. What happened?! Grrrrrrr.....

either someone else was faster than you or it timed out before you reached the last page. You can often hit the back button on your browser to get it unless it's already taken.

try back an hour later. They sometimes magically reappear!

Hopefully you kept going back and checking! A lot of us have had this experience where there was an error during booking and then we kept going back and checking the site and the ADR would show back up - check for an hour.

It seems of there is truly and error (and not someone else getting it), then it takes awhile to get released back into the system.

Good luck!!
