Chillin' at the Contemporary-PTR+ All-Star quick trip TR - Completed

Congratulations on the car buying, although that can be exhausting!

Sounds like a rough beginning to your trip - reminds me of why driving has some advantages, I need to keep that in mind in two weeks when we are driving 16 hours.......

Thanks. I'm going to get it today!! Woohoo!!

You know what? At that point, I wished we were driving down.

What did you buy and what color? How exciting!!

There are advantages to driving which I reluctantly admit. Of course, we are still a lot closer than you are.

I love the pink door on your room!

I got an orange 2010 Rio5 from Kia :)

In the room, I also had a message on the phone from Minnie and Mickey wishing me a happy birthday. hehe

I forgot to say that at check-in, I got a pin with my name on it to wear. And I wore that thing out heheh

The location of our room was nice. We were on the third floor, and it was pretty quiet.

We relaxed a bit, called home to tell my dad about everything, and then we went to eat. It was around 4:30pm/5pm, and we were starving.

My mom had the double cheeseburger, and I had the chicken nuggets with a chocolate cake. That was like the best tasting food ever lol Yeah, we were that hungry.

After dinner, we went to the little store. My mom bought me a limited edition set of the kookie pens from Alice in Wonderland, and a button. It's like the staple easy button but it Scar says: "I'm surrounded by idiots". I will bring it to work and put it on my desk lol It will all help us. We sometimes feel that way hehe

When we got back to the room, 2 of our suitcases were there. Well the ones that had the DME tags on them.

We relaxed and watched tv. We dozed off a few times. At 8:30pm we got the last suitcase. And by 9pm we were sleeping. We were sooooooooo exhausted!

And that means the end of Day 1.

Great pics of the resort! Too bad your travel day was so long and exhausting. But it's good that you went to sleep early. Sometimes we try to do too much on the first day and then we are exhausted for the rest of the trip. Taking it easy the first day and going to be early is the way to go!

Orange sounds so cool! I can't wait to see the Alice stuff!

Ugh, that experience is exactly why I will never fly from an international airport into the US, the immigration/customs and security are insane! It is so much easier to drive across the border and fly from a US airport. Apparently the chances of a terrorist getting on a plane in the US are so much smaller than in Canada? :confused3

Exactly. And at the time we arrived, we could not imagine going to a park or something, you know.

Got the car in the driveway now. It's sooooooo cute. hehe There was Alice stuff in the parks, but none that I bought other than the pens. They are original Alice. I was so excited to see all the stuff they had of the Tim Burton version, but sadly, I didn't really like the graphics on the merchandise.

I guess so. And apparently, I really look like a terrorist lol

My mom and I talked and realized that we should probably have bought Annual passes for this year. With a March trip, July and maybe December, it may have been cheaper. But oh well, too late.

Ok, here are the rest of my resort pics.

subscribe me in... better late than never!

Do you know that you can buy annual passes and get credited for the regular passes you already bought? Ask about it at Guest Relations or the ticket office. We are making just 2 trips in 12 months and we chose the annual pass. The last time we had annuals we did 3 trips within 12 months and our average daily cost ended up being about $16.00! We do however, get the discounted DVC annual passes.

But we figured that with only 2 trips, it's not really worth it. Annual passes would have been worth it with 3 trips.

49F with rain
Cloudy in the pm

I woke up at 6:30am. My mom was already awake.

I took a bath. The best bath I ever took. lol It really helped get over all the stress and the fatigue from the day before.

I slowly got ready. Crazy how a routine can follow you everywhere. That's what I do everyday here. Get up, and go take a bath, and get ready. So that's what I did.

I went to the food court to get some coffee and a cheese danish. I came back to the room, and relaxed in front of the tv.

After a while, I decided to go buy postcards, and barettes. My hair was not cooperating, and apparently I had nothing to hold back my stubborn tresses. As I entered the main hall, it started to rain. When I got the postcards and barettes, I also decided to buy my mom an umbrella. We already had one, but none of us was willing to wear the ponchos lol

I got back to the room, and read while mom was getting ready.

We left the resort at around 10:30am. It was cold and it was raining. What a dreamy day huh?

The busses were rearranged in the parking lot since they are refurbishing the bus stops.

We got to the Magic Kingdom around 11am.

We started our Magic Kingdom journey by shopping. Mainly in the emporium. I saw a lot of "Alice in Wonderland" stuff. I wanted to get the wallet, but ended up buying a wallet with Retro Disney images on it.

I had fun with some of the merchandise. I wanted to have the Cheshire cat smile. Doesn't really show lol The hat was really cool. But I couldn't imagine how I could bring it back.

There were also a few "Muppets" objects.

IMG_2808.jpg

I considered buying this sweatshirt during our entire trip. But at the end, I didn't like the way it fit on me, and I saw soooooooooo many people with it, I couldn't look at it anymore lol

And this little picture for a friend of mine who is a "Stitch" fan.

What a great start to your trip...other than the weather...seems very relaxed....:thumbsup2

I had to :rotfl2::rotfl2: with the picture of you in the Mad Hatter wig/hat.

I was able to read really quickly!

Yay for that hat; I wish you could've bought, though!

I smiled at the Stitch and Boochie-Boo picture. :goodvibes

After that bit of shopping, we went to exhibition hall. I was finally able to show my mom the room in the back.

When we left that room, I ran into Alice. She was really nice. I took a picture with her that I did not purchase. Didn't really like the way I looked in it. So I'll be sure to find her another time. She was nice and said she'd wait for people to tell her about her new movie. She wouldn't go see it.

We then were starting to get hungry. We wanted to go to "Pecos Bill". So we took the train from the Main Street station to Frontierland. As we were making our way to "Pecos", we stumbled upon the Splash Mountain shop. We had never been there. Well I maybe have gone there in 2000, but I don't remember it. We did not buy anything. We made it to the restaurant, and found a nice spot to eat. I had the Tacos salad (yummy!) and my mom had the chicken ceasar salad. Everything was tasty except my iced tea. It tasted like water.

When we left the restaurant it was drizzling, so I kinda cornered my mom. I had been wanting to see the Country Bear jamboree and she did not really. Well we went lol It was cheesy, and I loved it. But there were 2 guys beside me (a dad and a teenager I think) who talked throughout the ENTIRE show. So I could only understand half of the jokes. I was sooooooooooo anooyed!

But good news! When we were outside, everyone that was at the show at the same time as us, said the same thing: Hey! It's not raining anymore!"

We went to browse the Christmas store where I saw a few items I wanted. But I did not buy anything right away.

After that, I walked to the Haunted Mansion and saw that the wait was only 15 min. My mom decided to go wait for my in Fantasyland. The ride was almost a walk on. I don't remember waiting 15 min.
