Chillin' at the Contemporary-PTR+ All-Star quick trip TR - Completed

Welcome back! So it was cold? Bummer. I hope it's not too cold next week! :headache:

I just emptied my suitcase.

TSA searched it as usual.

And they emptied a complete bag of laundry in my suitcase. It was all mixed with clean clothes and all over the place. I had carefully folded EVERYTHING, including the laundry. Now I have to wash everything. Geez lol

I'm uploading my pics to photobucket. I will try to start the report later today.

I'm going to see "Alice" in 3D today woohoo!

Oh I'm so glad you liked it! We went to the mall today with the intention of seeing it at 12:15, then eating a late lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. While we were in the mall waiting for our movie time, we ran into friends who invited us to lunch right then so we didn't make it to the movie. It was a very Disney afternoon being in the RFC, though! The water smell alone made me feel like I was there!

Maybe Alice next weekend....

LOVED it! :) Well ok, I'm sold on Tim Burton movies. But I didn't really like Coraline.

But this is good. Great idea to continue from the story we all know and love.

Coraline wasn't Tim Burton! It was from the director of Nightmare Before Christmas...Tim Burton didn't direct NBC, he wrote and produced it! There's your answer!

We are big Burton fans too! LOVED his latest before Alice, Sweeny Todd. I really like his old movies...Pee Wee, Beetlejuice, Edwards Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow. Didn't really love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Corpse Bride.

Got your postcard!!!! Love it!

Sucks that it was so cold while you were there. I want to hear all about it!!

No prob. Glad you received it! :)

I will tell you guys about the trip sunday. The reason why I haven't started the TR yet is that I am in the process of buying a car. And as you all know, it can be a long process.

Home: Extremely windy
Toronto: Snow

Orlando: Good under the sun. About 64F
Chilly at night. About 54F

We left home at 3am. Yep, it was early. I slept abour 2 hours. My mom about 1. We were excited, and a bit nervous since we had not had a connectiong flight in quite some time.

We got at the aiport at around 4am. We were not alone. But the check-in desk was only going to open at 5 am. They tell us to get there 3 hours before our flight, and they only open 2 hours before that time? Go figure.

As we checked-in, the lady explained what we had to do to catch our connecting flight in Toronto. "It's very easy, customs is right by baggage claim. Toronto's the easiest airport".

We went through security in Montreal. I was once again searched. Apparently the lady was inexperienced and my inhalers looked like liquid. So the guy searched my bag, and was pissed at the lady for stopping me for my inhalers.

We found our gate. We went to a bookstore to look at magazines. Nothing was appealing. I got myself a caramel macchiato and a croissant at Starbucks. We settled in some seats at the gate, and waited to board.

We boarded at 6:30am and were told that the sattelite tvs, didn't work. It was fine since that flight is only 1 hour, at most.

The nightmare began. We were boarded until 8am since there was a snow storm in Toronto. They were not letting anyone leave, or come in.

Once we were able to leave, we had a good flight.

We arrived in toronto at 9:20am. Our connecting flight was at 10:30am.

When we exited the plane, we were told where to go to get our luggage.

Well we were misdirected. All of us of had a connecting flight to the us were misdirected. I met up with the girl who was sitting beside me in the plane, and she was going to Miami. So we all looked together. And we found the carousel on the other side of the airport.

We went through customs. That too was not well organized. I mean the signs were not that well designed and people were like annoyed that we were asking them where to go.

We went through customs, left our luggage at the right place, and went through security. I was once again searched. Apparently I had to take my DVD player out. So they emptied my entire bag.

We walked a few steps, only to be stopped at security number 2. My bag was once again searched entirely. We were patted down. And I mean they touched us EVERYWHERE in front of everyone. They touched our private places too, even if they didn't know if we were a suspect or not. They also confiscated my mom's matches. Last year we were told that you couldn't have a lighter, even if it was a "Bic". And this year you could have a "Bic" but not matches. ARGH!!

So when we were done there, we had to run to the plane! Literally run! It was passed 10:30am!

When we got there, they were waiting for us. Well not only us. They were waiting for 26 of us.

We got on the plane right away, and waited for these other passengers for about 20-30 minutes.

Once everyone was in, wel we were told we couldn't leave yet. The plane at to be de-iced, and the line was about 30 minutes long, and we were not the first ones in line.

What did they do to help us wait? Give us tiny glasses of water lol Come on, how can that help?? The satellite tvs didn't work on that plane either.

After about 30-40 minutes, we were on out way.

Congratulations on the car buying, although that can be exhausting!

Sounds like a rough beginning to your trip - reminds me of why driving has some advantages, I need to keep that in mind in two weeks when we are driving 16 hours.......

The flight was good, and uneventful. I read the 2nd Sookie book. It was good. And watched a bit of Glee.

We arrived in Orlando at around 2:26pm instead of 1:15pm.

Our first mission....finding mom a lighter so she could have a smoke after all these hours.

I relaxed a bit while mom was outside, and ate some junior mints. Yep, I am addicted to those.

We went to the DME desk, and gave them the number of the third suitcase we had. We were told that we could have cut a tag in two. Did you guys know that we could do that? We didn't. The guy said it wasn't official, but suitcases always found their way. So we'll keep that in mind for next time.

We waited around 30min in line, and then were on our way.

The DME bus was heading for All-Star music, All-star movies, and Coronado Springs. We were the first stop!!!! Was our luck turning around at my beloved Disney??

We got to the resort, and checked-in. I had done the online check-in once again, and it had worked out pretty well.

We got room 3620 in the Rock'in building.
By that time in was around 4:30pm.
